Why has the celebration of the birth of Christ been adulterated to such an extent that we act as if we are deserving of so much more materially than He had on His day of birth?

The Pope also recently cautioned the world about materialism: Too many children are growing up in a world saturated with "false models of happiness" and being lured by unscrupulous adults into the "dead-end street of consumerism".

AUSTRIANS TRUST DALAI LAMA AND SCHWARZENEGGER OVER POPE BENEDICT XVI

From Earthtimes: "Austrian-born California "Gubernator" Arnold Schwarzenegger inspires more trust among Austrians than Pope Benedict XVI, a survey presented on Friday said.
The pope's index on the trust study...was 33, Schwarzenegger's 34. Both were beaten hands down by the Dalai Lama, who leads the ranking with an index of 49, followed by German Chancellor Angela Merkel (35).
The Tibetan spiritual leader's position comes as no surprise to OGM head Wolfgang Bachmayer, who said: "The Dalai Lama is regarded as a cheerful promoter of peace."
Jesus Christ was admittedly not a "cheerful promoter of peace" nor should his followers be. Rather, He is Truth --which the world rejects. As Christians we can expect no better treatment than He received--that is-- if we are indeed practicing our Faith.
