TO BE SAVED ALL MUST JOIN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

pius_ix
Here are the words of Pope Pius IX on the necessity of becoming a member of the visible Catholic Church...

"No one can deny or doubt that this Jesus Christ, in order to apply the fruits of His Redemption to all generations of man, has built here on earth, upon Peter, His one, holy, Catholic and apostolic Church; and that He conferred upon her the power necessary to preserve whole and inviolate the deposit of Faith, and to transmit this same Faith to all peoples, tribes and nations, so that all men be united in her Mystcal Body through Baptism. Wherefore, this Church, which constitutes His Mystical Body, will persist and prosper in her stable and immutable nature until the end of time

Whoever carefully considers and studies the situation of the various religious communities, divided amongst themselves and separated from the Catholic Church will be easily convinced that none of these associations whether considered individually or taken as a whole can in any way be seen as that One Catholic Church that Christ the Lord built and willed to exist. Neither can they in any way be considered members or part of this same Church, as long as they remain visibly separated from Catholic unity. It follows that such communities, lacking the living authority established by God to teach men especially in Morals and matters of Faith and customs, directing and governing them in all that concerns eternal salvation thus mutate in their doctrines and are constantly changing and instable.

For this reason, let all those who do not possess the communion and the truth of the Catholic Church
take advantage of this Council, in which she offers a further demonstration of her profound unity and impregnable vital force; and responding to the demands of their hearts, let them strive to leave this state that does not guarantee for them the security of salvation."

GLORIA POLO'S NEAR DEATH TESTIMONY

gloria3
Here is the testimony of Dr Gloria Polo, a dentist who died after being terribly burned by a lightning bolt on May 5, 1995 in Bogotá, Colombia. She was judged, and then came back to life. May her testimony, by the grace of God, allow all to be illumined as to all those hidden and forgotten sins that we have failed to confess and do penance for.

The Testimony of Gloria Polo
May 5, 2005 - Caracas, Venezuela

Good morning, brothers. It is wonderful for me to be here, to share with you this gift so beautiful that the Lord gave me.

That which I am about to recount to you happened May 5, 1995 at the National University of Bogotá, starting from 4:30 pm.

I am a dentist. I and my 23-year-old cousin, who is also a dentist, were studying in order to get the specialization. On that day, which was a Friday, about 4:30 pm, we were walking together with my husband toward the Faculty of Dentistry to find some books that we needed. With my cousin I walked under a small umbrella while my husband wore a rain coat and to shelter himself better he was walking near the wall of the General Library. We two were jumping from one side to the other in order to avoid the puddles while staying close to the trees. When we jumped over a rather large puddle we were hit by a lightning bolt which left us both carbonized.

My cousin died immediately. The lightning bolt entered from behind, burning him inside totally, and came out through his feet, leaving him intact externally. Not withstanding his young age, he was a very religious young man. He had a great devotion for Baby Jesus and he always carried around his neck His image, a quartz medal. The authorities said that it was the quartz that attracted the lightning bolt to my cousin, because it entered into the heart burning everything…

Remaining intact externally, he immediately had a cardiac arrest which did not respond to the attempts of reanimation by the doctors, and he died on the spot.

As for me, the lightning bolt entered from my shoulder, burning terribly the whole body, inside and out; in short my flesh disappeared including my breasts, especially the left one, leaving a hole. It caused to disappear the flesh of my abdomen, of my legs, of the ribs; it carbonized the liver, it gravely burned the kidneys, the lungs, the ovaries… and came out through the right foot.

For my contraceptive, I was using a spiral (an intrauterine devise in the form of a T), and because of the material with which it is made (copper) it is a good conductor of electricity; the lightning bolt carbonized and

Bishop Bernard Fellay : “At a pivotal point”

sspx

Here is the latest Interview with Bishop Bernard Fellay from DICI–(Nouvelles de Chrétienté, Sept.-Oct. 2010) My emphasis in red.

The Society of St. Pius X is celebrating its fortieth anniversary. Is this the end of the wandering in the desert, as it was for the Hebrews in the time of Moses?

It seems to me that what we are experiencing resembles instead one of those expeditions of the scouts who catch a glimpse of the Promised Land, although circumstances do not allow the people to enter it. In order to avoid any misinterpretation of the image just used, I hasten to add that we declare just as firmly as ever that we are Catholics and that, with God’s help, we intend to remain that way. However for the Church as a whole this crisis does resemble a wandering in the desert, with one difference: the manna is quite difficult to find. There are encouraging signs, especially on the part of Rome; unfortunately they are quite mixed up in other very troubling matters. A few blades of grass in the desert….

In spite of everything, how is the Society of St. Pius X developing throughout the world?

The Society is actually developing a bit everywhere. Some regions are making more rapid progress than others—I’m thinking of the United States, for example—but the big handicap that we run up against is the lack of priests. Requests for help come in from all sides, but because of our severe shortage of priests we cannot respond as we ought. With every appointment [of an SSPX priest to a pastoral assignment] we make a choice that is going to disappoint one or more groups of the faithful. On the one hand that is a rather good sign, since it shows a certain development in our work, but it is also quite painful. Think of the mission countries, particularly in Africa or in Brazil. If we could send fifty priests there, it would be a great relief. The immense continent of Asia is waiting also….

Archbishop Lefebvre used to say that for the authorities in Rome the statistics of that growth were more eloquent than theological arguments. Is that still true?

I don’t know whether we should say “the statistics” or “the facts”. At any rate the two things are equally telling. As the good old saying puts it, contra factum non fit argumentum, there is no arguing against the facts—that is still totally valid. And Archbishop Lefebvre’s statement is quite true. We should note that it is not so much the number that impresses Rome, since we are still a negligible quantity in the Mystical Body as a whole. But what we represent, in an extremely vivid way, a living tradition—that overawes them.
These magnificent fruits which are very certainly, by the admission of a high-ranking Roman prelate Read More...

LONDON BUSSES TO PUSH FEMALE ORDINATION DURING POPE'S VISIT

CATHOLIC PRIESTESSES

(Reuters Life!) - Pope Benedict will be confronted by posters on London's famous red buses during his trip to the British capital next month which will call for the ordination of women priests.

Protests are planned throughout his four-day trip to England and Scotland, the first papal visit since John Paul II's pastoral visit in 1982 and the first-ever official papal visit to Britain.

One group of women, Catholic Women's Ordination (CWO), will have its message plastered on the side of the buses as they travel along key routes, including past Westminster Hall, at the Palace of Westminster, where the pope is set to deliver a speech to Britain's civic society on September 17.

The group has paid 15,000 pounds ($23,130) for 15 buses to carry the message "Pope Benedict - Ordain Women Now!" for a month.

"We do not want to be disruptive, but I think the church has got to change or it will not survive," CWO spokeswoman Pat Brown told Reuters.

WHEN YOU MISS ONE HOLY COMMUNION

Sacred_Head2
It is well for you to consider what you lose every time that you pass up Holy Communion.

1. You miss a personal visit with Jesus, Author of all spiritual energy and of all holiness;

2. You lose a special increase of sanctifying grace, which makes your soul more pleasing to God;

3. You lose a quota of sacramental grace which entitles you to special help in times of temptation and in the discharge of your daily duties;

4. You lose a precious opportunity of having all of your venial sins wiped away;

5. You miss the special preserving influence which each Holy Communion confers against the fires of passion;

6. You miss the opportunity of having remitted a part, or all, of the temporal punishments due to your sins;

7. You lose the spiritual joy, the sweetness and particular comfort that come from a fervent Holy Communion;

8. You lose a part of the glory that your body might enjoy at its resurrection on the Last Day;

9. You lose the greater degree of glory you would possess in Heaven for all eternity;

10. You may lose:
    a) complete victory over some fault or passion;
    b) some particular grace long prayed for;
    c) the conversion or salvation of some soul;
    d) deliverance of a relative or friend from Purgatory;
    e) many graces for others, both the living and the dead.

Will a few extra minutes of sleep repay you for all these losses?

What riches hundreds of thousands of Catholics deprive themselves daily by neglecting Mass.  It in itself is the best preparation for Holy Communion.  At the hour of death our greatest consolation will be the Masses we have heard and the Holy Communions received.

ONCE A CAPITAL CRIME TO SAY MASS --SCOTLAND HAS BECOME A CATHOLIC NATION

And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?" Rev 6:10

Scotland has become more Roman Catholic than Protestant. Scotland's Roman Catholic congregations now outnumber the Church of Scotland for the first time since records began. This in a Nation that once hunted down priests for the crime of saying the Mass. Although it is certain that God will one day avenge the blood of the martyrs, it is nevertheless nice to see temporal justice.

From Scotland on Sunday: "Figures compiled by the independent group Christian Research reveal that in 2005 the number of Catholics who went to Mass surpassed those who attended Church of Scotland services."

"The change is due to the huge numbers of Catholic Polish immigrants who are boosting church attendance, raising numbers by some 50,000 people since the last time figures were published in 2002."

This calls to mind a wonderful outspoken Scottish martyr of the Reformation, John Ogilvie, who made it his mission to restore the Catholic Faith to Scotland.

He was born into a respected Calvinist family in Keith, Banffshire c. 1579. He was exposed to the religious controversies of his day and became impressed with the faith of the martyrs. He decided to become a Catholic

WHERE FAITH IS ALIVE IN EUROPE

chartres20075
From Timesonline: "Religion may well be in decline among European youth but it is by no means dead. This weekend about 6,000 young Catholics will set off on a 75-mile walk from Paris to Chartres Cathedral — and as they walk they will all be praying and singing in Latin."

"This weekend’s annual three-day pilgrimage through northern France, which is in its 26th year, illustrates the appeal that the Tridentine Mass has for some young Catholics disenchanted with what they say is the lack of mystery, beauty and sacredness in the revised Mass.

Gregory Flash, 28, an investment banker from London, explains why he is taking part in the pilgrimage for the second year running: “The pilgrimage is a time of prayer, penance and fellowship. It’s great to be surrounded by thousands of Catholics around the same age who

ARE PEOPLE WORSE TODAY THAN THEY WERE IN PAST GENERATIONS?

360px-Hortus_Deliciarum_-_Hell
"My people perish from a lack of knowledge." Hosea 4:6

Are people worse today than those who lived in previous generations?

It has always been my strong inclination to answer this in the affirmative --until I came across the following quote:

"If the West has now reached the point of internal disintegration, it is not because the people at large are, in essence, worse than in former times (human nature does not change); it is because they have been led to believe in errors (such as the belief that one has the right to do as one pleases) by a minority of "intellectuals who have been allowed to disseminate freely their pernicious ideas." Yves Dupont.

When you look around at the West today--so many sins that pervade our modern world can be attributed to our embrace of error. Today, the errors of materialism, hedonism, and secularism, just to mention a few, have multiplied at a staggering rate. Things that were unspeakable a generation ago have become a source of pride for many. From the Protestant Deformation which twisted and continues to alter truth for the convenience of man, to the modernism that has destroyed the faith of so many Catholics. The minds of many in the once Christian West have become severely afflicted with errors against God the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Mary, and God's Grace.

The West is so steeped in error that it now finds truth itself to be intolerant and offensive. In fact most believe that tolerance,
not truth, leads to freedom. But true liberty and freedom only derive from truth, which by its very nature is intolerant of error--and so must we also be.

How many souls are lost due to the prevalence of error?

Fr John Hardon, S. J. addressed this when he stated: 'virtually all of the Fathers of the Church agreed that ‘most of those living in any age will be lost’.

We must pray and offer ourselves as living sacrifices to God for the eradication of error and for holy priests who will fight with courage and vigor against the errors of our times.

WHY THE LATIN MASS?

mass2
"[B]ecause of its richness, beauty, elevation, nobility and ceremonial solemnity, because of its sense of the sacred and reverential, because of its sense of mystery, its greater precision and rigor -- thereby offering more security and protection against abuses, without leaving space for ambiguities, for the liberty, creativity, adaptations, reductions and manipulations, as Pope John Paul II lamented in the encyclical "Ecclesia de Eucharistia" -- and being for us the best liturgical expression of the Eucharistic dogmas and solid spiritual nourishment, it is one of the treasures of Catholic liturgy, with which we express our love and our communion with the holy Church."

-- Bishop Fernando Arêas Rifan of Brazil, on the Latin Mass quoted by Zenit.

THE GENERATIONAL BACKLASH AGAINST KUMBAYA CATHOLICISM

guitarmass
Much of the world is unaware of the war taking place within Catholicism. This is a liturgical war to take back and restore the culture of Catholicism. It is the youth who are leading this revolt against what many elderly liberals would call "progress". But this progress was really an attempt to destroy the Catholic faith. By the grace of God there is a backlash against this modernism wherein the very gates of hell have been pushed back. And by the grace of God there is a hunger and thirst for a true restoration. As a victim of modernistic Catholic school education, I have a vested interest in seeing the wholesale destruction of what has been referred to as progress before I die. Here is a good article that sums up the issues and the players for the heart and soul of Catholicism:

Excerpts from washingtonpost.com:"Catholics don't argue about abortion or the death penalty nearly as much as they argue about what music is sung (or not sung, or used to be sung) at their local Sunday Mass. It was ever thus -- at least since the 1960s, when Sister first shortened her habit, strummed a G7 chord and, to hear some Catholics tell it, all heck broke loose.

"Among his more fastidious devotees, Pope Benedict XVI is valued most for the fact that he is not Casey Kasem, and Mass is no place for a hit parade, and church is most relevant when it is serious. ...Do not hold your breath waiting for "One Bread,

HELP A MAN PAY OFF HIS COLLEGE DEBT AND BECOME A PRIEST

nevenred

A reader of this blog has contacted me about his desire to become a priest with the Order of Basilian Salvatorian Fathers in Massachusetts - a semi-contemplative Melkite Byzantine order. The Melkite Rite is Catholic and under Pope Benedict XVI--it is one of the several Eastern Rites of the Catholic Church whose Divine Liturgy is Byzantine.

Unfortunately he has incurred $72,000 in school debt while attending the Franciscan University Of Steubenville over the last four years. This debt must be paid off before he can enter the Order. To further this purpose he has put together a
website and has recorded an album of Catholic music.

Won't you please help a man become a priest. He can be reached at: neven7@hotmail.com

He has provided me with his conversion story and his journey to becoming a priest. Here it is :

FROM JEW TO PROTESTANT TO CATHOLIC TO MOTHER SUPERIOR

Here is Rosalind Moss, a Jewish convert to Catholicism, giving testimony of her conversion on the Journey Home. I have always loved the way she so succinctly ties the old testament and the practices of Judaism with Catholicism. So many fail to see the connection between the old testament and all of the seemingly "useless" and "man-made" traditions in the Church. Rosalind Moss along with other Jewish converts to Catholicism reminds us of this connection.

Rosalind, 65, has recently founded an order of sisters in the Archdiocese of St Louis called Daughters of Mary, Mother of Israel's Hope. She is working on designing a floor length habit and intends to go to the streets with a team of joy-filled sisters and share the good news.

COMMUNION IN THE HAND CONDEMNED--AS A BISHOP I CANNOT REMAIN SILENT

Here is Auxillary Bishop Athanasius Schneider of Karaganda in Kazakhstan, who takes his vocation seriously. He has written a book with the purpose of re-introducing the Church to what takes place at the consecration and WHO we receive. He most importantly condemns the practice of Communion in the hand, and states that it was introduced against the laws of the Church.

Here is what Fr John Hardon had to say about Communion in the Hand:
"Communion in the hand [came]...with the publication of the Dutch Catechism with nobody's permission except the bishops—in effect, in principle separated themselves from the Holy See. One country after another began then to ask for permission, which the Dutch Read More...

CATHOLIC LUXEMBOURG LEGALIZES EUTHANASIA

1186404830693
Luxembourg was once almost a 100% Catholic Nation but is now the third EU nation to approve euthanasia. One by one Catholic nations are succumbing to the culture of death and rejecting their Catholic heritage. Radical individualism has replaced the notion that every human life has value and has the potential to become a vessel of God's grace. How different the world would be if the leadership of the Church had taken an active role in condemning the predominant culture and teaching the truths of the faith over the last half century.

This reminds me of an interesting e-mail I received from
Marshall who is considering the priesthood:

“It [the Third Secret] has nothing to do with Gorbachev. The Blessed Virgin was alerting us against apostasy in the Church.” ... Cardinal Oddi, quoted March 17, 1990, in the journal Il Sabato

“In the Third Secret it is foretold, among other things, that the great apostasy in the Church will begin at the top.”
... Cardinal Mario Luigi Ciappi, Pope John Paul II's personal papal theologian, quoted in the journal Catholic, March 2002

Well it began at the top and now we are witnessing the destructive effects at the bottom.

DUTCH CATHOLICS RENAME LENT "RAMADAN" TO APPEAL TO MUSLIMS

verzoeking
This is a liberal's version of evangelization--to change the Church to conform to the world. Diabolical concepts such as relativism and religious indifferentism are proof that the smoke of Satan has indeed entered the sanctuaries of the Church. Liberal Catholicism has all but destroyed the Church in an attempt to Protestantize it--which is a pew-emptying failure. Now they hope to convert the Muslims by Islamizing Catholicism. From the Dutch bishop who advocated calling God "Allah", to the renaming of lent. What's next? Liberals may seek to rename the Bible "The Koran"-- after all, in their eyes it's all the word of God or should I say-- the word of Allah. The irony is that such relativism and "tolerance" lead only to one's own eventual obliteration and demise. Further, such weakness makes conversion from Islam to Christianity futile--since there is nothing to convert from or to.

From
Telegraph.co.uk: "Dutch Catholics have re-branded the Lent fast as the "Christian Ramadan" in an attempt to appeal to young people who are more likely to know about Islam than Christianity.

THE ENORMITY OF SIN AND THE NECESSITY OF THE LAMB OF GOD

"We ought to immolate to God the daily sacrifices of our tears, the daily offerings of His Flesh and Blood. For this Victim peculiarly preserves the soul from eternal death, as it renews to us in a mystery the death of the Only-Begotten; Who, although being risen from the dead He dies no more and death shall have no more dominion over Him, yet while in Himself He lives immortal and incorruptible, for us is immolated again in this mystery of the sacred oblation. For it is His body that is there taken, His flesh that it is divided for the salvation of the people, His blood that is poured, not as before into the hands of unbelievers, but into the mouths of the faithful. Hence let us estimate the importance of this sacrifice for us, which for our absolution ever imitates the Passion of the only-begotten Son. For what Christian can doubt that at the very hour of the offering, at the words of the priest, the heavens are opened, the choirs of angels are present in that mystery of Jesus Christ, the lowest things are knit with the highest, the earthly things are united with the heavenly, the visible and the invisible are made one." THE DEPOPULATION OF EAST GERMANY

800px-Königstein,_Germany_Ortsansicht2
Historically and traditionally a woman got married and raised her children. Now thanks to feminism and socialism a woman leaves her picturesque village in search of career and fortune. But even when the woman finds her fortune and her handsome prince in the city she still is not ready to embark on motherhood due to the brainwashing she has undergone at the hands of feminists and socialists. Even cash incentives, and free daycare can't tear her away from her government subsidized packet of birth control pills. The only thing which could bring back the deadened maternal instinct in the West is the rebirth of Catholicism--which is the lone voice in the wilderness that condemns artificial birth control and truly reveres the God-given role of women in society.

Excerpts from
GUARDIAN: "Martin Schiller has a problem familiar to many 17-year-old boys: not enough girls. Schiller's difficulties, however, are not of his making. Nature has not been kind to him. Not in terms of his looks, but his birthplace.

"For his home town of Königstein, a cluster of red-roofed traditional buildings tucked in a picturesque bend of the Elbe river beneath a giant 700-year-old castle, has recently been revealed to have the biggest demographic imbalance of anywhere in Europe between young men and women.

"On Saturday nights, there is a party at Königstein's youth club. 'We have to get the girls to come from Pirna,' says Schiller, referring to the nearest major town, 10 miles distant. Or even, he says, from Dresden, a 40-minute drive away across the rolling, wooded, depopulated Saxon countryside.

"The reason for the imbalance, he adds, is simple: 'The job opportunities

ECUMENISM AND APOSTASY

Pentecost

Just a reminder of the infallible teaching of the Catholic Church at the Council of Florence in 1438:

"The Most Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and preaches that none of those existing outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews, heretics, and schismatics can ever be partakers of eternal life, but that they are to go into the eternal fire 'which was prepared for the devil and his angels,' (Mat. 25:41) unless before death they are joined with Her; and that so important is the unity of this Ecclesiastical Body, that only those remaining within this unity can profit from the sacraments of the Church unto salvation, and that they alone can receive an eternal recompense for their fasts, alms deeds and other works of Christian piety and duties of a Christian soldier. No one, let his alms giving be as great as it may, no one, even if he pour out his blood for the Name of Christ, can be saved unless they abide within the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church."

Maybe if we took seriously these words and stopped explaining away and undermining this infallible and unchangeable teaching we would not be in the current state of mass apostasy from the Faith throughout the West.

NO POPERY! POPE DENOUNCED AS ANTI-CHRIST OVER ROSARY ROW

THE CHRISTIANITY THAT SCATTERS RATHER THAN GATHERS

luther

So many "Christians" have come to hold the view that it does not matter what one believes but rather that one is simply sincere and a "good person". But without a firm creed and an authority established by God Himself one is open to compromise with the world, the devil, and the flesh. Surely Christ will not abide with those who compromise and strip His word of all hard teachings--we must either accept or reject Him, we are either for or against Him.  Compromise is incompatible with a firm faith that Christ is God, whose word is true and whose promises are as sure as God is sure.

Protestantism's rejection of authority has scattered souls by forcing them to fend for themselves to determine what the essential revealed truths of Christ are. Instead of confidently grasping hold of truth, Protestant Christians must agree to differ as to what truth God intended to reveal. Without the confidence that can only be found when authority is recognized, Protestants are inexorably driven to compromise due to the eternally endless divisions. How ironic it is that "bible believing" "sola scriptura" Christians are on the whole more unsure of truth and the requirements of salvation than prior to the Reformation. As a result Christians have never been so lax, and so lacking in faith.

Many Protestants have come to reject the ten commandments and even baptism as necessary

A CATHOLIC HERO DEFENDS THE FAITH AND THE CRUCIFIX

A hospital employee in Britain who also happens to be a devout Roman Catholic recently found himself literally defending the the faith and in particular the crucifix against Muslims who had covered Catholic items in a hospital prayer room. He may now face charges of a religiously motivated assault.

From Manchestereveningnews: A hospital porter was quizzed by police after a row over a crucifix being covered in a prayer room has denied allegations of assault.

Joseph Protano, 54, was interviewed on suspicion of religiously aggravated assault at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Pendlebury.

Mr Protano, a devout Catholic from Salford, was released without charge but was suspended four days after the incident and has now been at home for two weeks.

"THIS IS BABEL"

CDI4
I will be on vacation until January 15. I will, however, be updating the Real Clear News sidebar while I am away.

We are all witnessing the growing persecution of the Church in what were once Christian nations. These nations are slowly taking on a fascist character that seeks to stamp out religion and religious expression. In Canada a so-called human rights commission is in hot pursuit of truth teller Mark Steyn for Islamophobia and Catholic Insight Magazine for homophobia. In Spain a Protestant is being investigated by the government for attempting to "cure" homosexuality while a Catholic cleric is likewise being investigated for comments that are seen as offending homosexuals.

The pace at which religious hatred is growing is alarming. But this was all prophesied by good and holy men and women throughout the centuries. They all hauntingly repeat that a great chastisement will occur due to the loss of the Faith. The Catholic Church in particular will have much to suffer. Islam is predicted to be used as one instrument of chastisement. But the enemies of Christ

JESUS DEMANDS BELIEF IN HIS BODY AND BLOOD TO HAVE ETERNAL LIFE

Michael Voris is on fire with the faith and is making waves in Detroit and all around the nation. He is a graduate of Notre Dame and a former news anchor with CBS. He gave up his career in television to spread the One True Faith far and wide.

I am personally tired of hearing so many protestants claim that they have a personal relationship with Jesus while denying his words in the Gospel of John chapter 6. There is nothing closer or more personal than eating the flesh of the Son of God who fills us with His life so that we can live with Him eternally.

We need more modern day missionaries like Michael Voris and friends to re-convert Western Civilization and bring it back to Jesus Christ in the most personal way known to man.

ENGLAND HAS BECOME A CATHOLIC NATION

484RowanWilliamsCanterbury600
More people attend mass in Britain than attend the Church of England. Roman Catholics have now become the dominant religion. The established State Church of England could therefore become a minority religion.

With statements such as the one made this past week by Rowan Williams, the leader of the Church of England, that Christmas is merely a legend-- is there any wonder why the death of this church is near? When the leaders of a church have lost their faith in the word of God, and invite homosexual leadership into its ranks --death is inevitable.

FROM

CATHOLIC PROPHECY THROUGHOUT CENTURIES FORETELLS OF A MUSLIM INVASION INTO EUROPE IN END TIMES

islam_europe
Catholic prophecies about the last days have been consistent throughout the centuries. In fact the prophecies viewed on the whole are astonishingly consistent. A great many prophecies foretell the Muslim invasion of the European continent which is to occur due to the anarchy and godlessness in Europe.

I believe it is gravely important that we be aware of what has been foretold. So much of what we hear about Islam and its spread into Europe is political in nature. I am certain that a great many of you view this movement of Islam into Europe as more than simply a historical or a political event. But rather, recognize the spiritual significance of this occurrence in salvation history. The loss of faith and apostasy not only in the world, but also within Christianity subjects the West to a great chastisement. When a nation legalizes abortion and promotes artificial contraception, and when homosexuality enters God's Church you can be certain that He will not

BELLA IS AN INSPIRING TRULY CATHOLIC FILM

A good movie is a rare thing in our day. But I can recommend Bella as a quality Catholic film through and through. It is a rare thing today when the main character is truly a hero, does not challenge your notions of right and wrong, and yet remains interesting.  The main character does not compromise his beliefs in the least bit. He is an inspiring and exemplary man in every respect. The story itself reveals how men can counter the culture of death and the lies of feminism by being truthful, honest and self-sacrificing gentlemen.

This movie also renewed my gratefulness for the infusion of Catholicism into our culture from immigrants from Mexico and Latin America.  So many in America condemn their growing presence but they bring with them a deep unadulterated faith. This movie is a product of that faith.  There are so few modern movies that we can enjoy today--go and enjoy this one before it disappears from the theaters.

YOUTHS REJECT RELATIVISM FOR TRUTH AND CATHOLIC DOGMA

elgreco_pentecost430x978
Where sin abounds grace does more abound. Romans 5:20.

While the world grapples with the depths of sin and darkness, God is pouring His grace upon the earth to restore and transform His Church. It is the only thing that is capable of transforming the world from a death seeking suicidal culture to one that reveres light, life and truth. The last 50 years have seen the Bride of Christ beaten down by scandals, divisions, and disobedience-- leaving her often-times beyond recognition. But the tide
has turned. The truth in all its splendor is irresistable in dark days. And the truth contained in the Latin Mass will be a beacon in the world where nothing remains sacred and everything is empty and mundane.

ZENIT recently conducted an interview with David Hartline, author of "The Tide is Turning Toward Catholicism".

"Instead of turning away from the faith and embracing the relativism of society, more and more youths are actually embracing the teachings of the Church, says Catholic author David Hartline."

"Many have asked me since the release of my book earlier this year if this tide of good news will continue or if it just a temporary cause for joy.

"The answer is that this tide continues to gather strength. Good news is abounding in the Church."

"When the young gravitated toward Pope John Paul II," said Hartline, "many skeptics said this was only temporary. When Cardinal Ratzinger was elected Pontiff, many said the young would leave.

"However, just

POPE GETS RADICAL IN ORDER TO BEGIN THE CATHOLIC REFORMATION

Pope_Benedict_Easter_Vigil_2007

Here is a very interesting article from the
Times Online about Pope Benedict and his ambitious commitment to reform and liberation of the Latin liturgy. This, despite attempts from many bishops including those in England and Wales to halt the reform. It seems his pontificate is having a tremendous impact on many break-away groups including the conservative Traditional Anglican Communion.

"Two and a half years after the name "Josephum" came booming down from the balcony of St Peter's, making liberal Catholics weep with rage, Pope Benedict XVI is revealing his programme of reform. And it is breathtakingly ambitious.

The 80-year-old Pontiff is planning a purification of the Roman liturgy in which decades of trendy innovations will be swept away. This recovery of the sacred is intended to draw Catholics closer to the Orthodox and ultimately to heal the 1,000 year Great Schism. But it is also designed to attract vast numbers of conservative Anglicans, who will be offered the protection of the Holy Father if they covert en masse.

The liberal cardinals don't like the sound of it at all.

Ever since the shock of Benedict's election, they have been

THE WAR ON THE CATHOLIC CONSCIENCE--PORTUGUESE GOVERNMENT ISSUES ULTAMATUM TO DOCTORS WHO REFUSE TO PERFORM ABORTIONS

Baby in Hand5-1
The war against the Catholic conscience continues. Every person is free to believe what they choose as long as it is not Catholic dogma. Any and all non-Christians from sodomites to atheists are free to put their beliefs into action and even involve themselves in politics. But Catholics must either magically detach themselves from their consciences or stay out of politics altogether. With the onslaught of totalitarian secularism the list of careers from which Catholics are banned, or should be banned is growing every day. Pharmacy, foster care, politics and the judiciary are fast becoming taboo for Catholics who truly live their Faith and follow their Church. And in Portugal the government has given doctors who refuse to comply with their new abortion laws an ultimatum:

From Rueters: LISBON, Nov 15 (Reuters) - Portuguese doctors have rejected a government ultimatum to remove an ethical ban on performing abortions after this deeply Catholic country approved Read More...

MASSIVE APPEAL TO LATIN TRADITION

the latin mass image
Here is an interesting article on the growth of the Latin Mass. From the Washington Times: Roman Catholic churches nationwide are rushing to accommodate a surge in demand for the traditional Latin Mass, which is drawing a surprising new crowd: young people.

Since July, when a decree from Pope Benedict XVI lifted decades-old restrictions on celebrating the Tridentine Mass, seven churches in the Washington metropolitan area have added the liturgy to their weekly Sunday schedules.

"I love the Latin Mass," said Audrey Kunkel, 20, of Cincinnati. "It"s amazing to think that I"m attending the same Mass that has formed saints throughout the centuries."

In contrast to the New Order Mass, which has been in use since the Second Vatican Council in 1969 and is typically celebrated in vernacular languages such as English, the Tridentine Mass is "contemplative, mysterious, sacred, transcendent, and [younger people are] drawn to it," said the Rev. Franklyn McAfee, pastor of St. John the Beloved in McLean. "Gregorian chant is the opposite of rap, and I believe this is a refreshing change for them."

Susan Gibbs, the director of communications from the Archdiocese of Washington, said the attraction demonstrated by the young adults is "very interesting."

Besides the liturgy"s rich historical content and spiritual Read More...

MARTYRDOM IS A REALISTIC POSSIBILITY FOR EVERY CHRISTIAN- SAYS POPE

the_christian_martyrs_last_prayer_by_leon_gerome9
Father Hardon used to say that heaven was very, very expensive. Christianity is a hard road--but Christians do not hear this critical message today. "Come as you are" Christianity waters down the message of Christ to the point where true conversion is unnecessary.

The time has come to cease the talk that the Christian walk is easy, and that heaven awaits all despite their works. The time has come to stop compromising Christ's message for the sake of human respect-- because in the end anything less than the truth is not persuasive.

We must reveal the truth about the Christian life-- that it is a radical battle against self and the dominant culture in which martyrdom may be a real possibility. While we may not be asked to shed our blood, our witness

POPE CONDEMNS HATE AND VIOLENCE IN THE NAME OF GOD AND RELIGION

_44189485_summit203bafp

"To hate no man."
St Benedict, Rule No 4

"No religion is from God which contradicts our sense of right and wrong"
Card. Newman

NAPLES, Italy, OCT. 21, 2007 (Compiled from various news sources): Pope Benedict XVI urged the world's religious leaders not to allow God's name to be used to justify violence.

"Faced with a world lacerated by conflicts," the Holy Father said, "where at times violence is justified in the name of God, it is important to re-emphasize that religion can never be a vehicle of hate; never, in the

GOOD NEWS FOR THE CHURCH: ATHEISTS ARE ANGRY

cvggo_conv

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks."
William Shakespeare, Hamlet.

The rise of militant atheism actually portends well for the Church. I am hopeful that as a civilization we have finally climbed out of the depths of our lukewarm apathy toward God and have entered a new era where man has become either HOT or COLD for Jesus. It may not bode well in the short term for believers in the wordly sense because the result is persecution. But the battle has begun and this fire will test the sincerity of our faith and ultimately prove the truth of Christianity to Christ's enemies. After all--"it is hard for [atheists] to kick against the goad". Acts 26:14

When an unbeliever becomes angry in discussing the faith it may mean that they are actually closer to conversion than if they display "toleration" and a distant and withdrawn "respect". Toleration reveals one's apathy while intolerance the opposite. Witness how very tolerant so many atheists are of Buddhism, Hinduism or even Islam while they condemn Christianity. In this intolerance lies something very meaningful and mysterious--that at

ABOMINATION AND DESOLATION IN THE TEMPLE OF GOD

Betrayal Blasphemy and Sacrilege: San Francisco Catholic Archbishop George Niederauer Gives Communion to Blasphemous ‘Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence’
"He who has dipped his hand into the dish with Me is the one who will betray Me. The Son of Man indeed goes, as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had never been born." Matthew 26:23-25

CATHOLIC STUDENTS FORCED TO WEAR THE ISLAMIC VEIL

scarveAP131006_228x252
FROM ASIA NEWS: Jakarta (AsiaNews) –"It is happening in schools in the North of Sumatra. A Christian family raises the alarm, their daughters “have no other choice” but to dress according to Islamic customs. This is imposed by some local norms inspired by Sharia, which should only effect Muslim citizens.

"The increasing numbers of local laws inspired by Sharia...are threatening the religious freedom of non Muslims, forced to wear Islamic clothes.

"The latest episode reported by a Catholic family in Padang north Sumatra is worrying: Stefanus Prayog Ismu Rahardi has 3 children, 2 of whom attend state school; recently the teachers asked them to wear the Islamic veil or in Indonesian;  jilbab. “It’s the first time that it has happened – says the father – and my daughters are scared, I tried to make them see the veil as a simple accessory, but they clearly understand that the problem goes well beyond

PUBLIC EDUCATION: THE MODERN DAY SLAUGHTER OF THE INNOCENTS

giotto_innocents
Our culture is immersed in temporal and material cares while we abandon our children to state run schools that have adopted all sorts of godless agendas. While we are consumed by consumerism, and absorbed into the culture, our children are robbed of the truth and beauty of a life of Faith. It is time that we take our children back and stop our complicity in the slaughter of any remaining innocence in this world.

Pope Pius XI stated in
Christian Education of Youth: “...[C]hildren are actually being torn from the bosom of the family to be formed (or to speak more accurately, to be deformed and depraved), in the godless schools and associations, to irreligion and hatred..thus is renewed in a real and more terrible manner the slaughter of the innocents.”

Parents are under a grave obligation to provide for the religious and moral education of their children. (Code of Canon Law of 1917, Canon 1113) We will be judged as parents by how we rear our children. Because of this clear teaching, we can no longer deny that the environment of most public schools with their aggressive sex “education” programs, pro-homosexual social clubs, and the muzzling of all mention of God, is indeed deadly to the souls of our youth. Yet we have swallowed the entire concept of State-dominated indoctrination of our children-- hook, line and sinker. What effect does an education which is silent about our Creator, and the purpose of our existence have on a child's character? Ignorance of such matters can only breed proud fools.

But go back in time less than a century and there were still voices questioning and even condemning the entire notion of a free compulsory secular education for the masses. One such critic was Hilaire Belloc who stresses over and over

"ISLAM IS NO MERE DECORATION LIKE THE VATICAN IS FOR THE WEST"

_42418049_larijani_ap203b
Tehran - The secretary of Iran's National Security Council said Monday that the United States should know that Islam in the Muslim world was 'no decoration like the Vatican in the West,' the Mehr news agency reported.

'The US cannot by force impose the American way of life on Islamic societies, as democracy on the basis of secularism would not work (in the Islamic world)...Islam is not just a decoration in our lives, contrary to the West where the Vatican is decoration,' Ali Larijani, Iran's chief nuclear negotiator, said in a meeting with religious scholars in Tehran.

Unfortunately, Larijani's criticism is not entirely without merit. Due to the mass apostasy from the Christian Faith in the West, the Vatican and more importantly the Church, has become no more than an old discarded decoration and a vestige of the past. Only when our Faith becomes more than mere decoration, will our eyes be opened to the devastation that Islam poses to our civilization.

THE NAME OF JESUS-THE NAME WHICH IS ABOVE ALL NAMES

Holy-Name-717363

The recent advice from a dissident cleric in the Netherlands who suggested that peace between Islam and Christianity could be obtained by calling our Lord and Savior "Allah", is not only futile but wicked. While this cleric seeks to compromise the Word of God to appease the violent and heretical, God's people are perishing for lack of knowledge of the power and value of Jesus' name. God does indeed care what we call Him

St Paul tells us that "Jesus" is
"a name above all names".

And that
"in the name of Jesus, every knee shall bend in Heaven, on earth and in Hell" (Phil.2:10).

Further
"there is salvation in the Name of Jesus and...there is no salvation in any other name except that Name." (Acts 4:12.)

But why is Jesus name so powerful?

Because He is God made man. The incarnation is a mind-boggling concept that is unique to Christianity. That the Creator of Heaven and Earth would actually humble Himself to not only become one of us, but willingly sacrifice Himself to appease the Father for our transgressions is beyond comprehension without
