From dailymail: "Sharia tribunals will be able to decide how a Muslim couple divide their money and property and who gets the children.
The decision follows nine months of controversy over the role of tribunals run according to Islamic strictures.
Muslim ministers have warned that sharia should not have an official role because it accords unequal status to men and women.
Giving more weight to evidence from men could hand them a greater share of property and enhanced custody rights."
The sharia law proceeding and the judgment will be secret. Therefore, any review of the decision by a formal court would not reveal any injustices.
"Robert Whelan, of the Civitas think-tank, said: 'The problem with the Government's attitude is the big question over how far submission to sharia courts is voluntary among Muslim women.
'Women who live in some communities may have no option but to go to the sharia court. The case is then rubber-stamped by a family court without any of us knowing how the decision was reached.'
Islamic tribunals have authority to make decisions in business and financial disputes where both parties agree to accept arbitration."

"Ministers said putting social education on the national curriculum for five- to 16-year-olds would help cut teen pregnancy rates and binge drinking.
Schools Minister Jim Knight said making social and health education compulsory was "a bold move and a necessary one".
"We need structured classroom teaching ... Parents bring up children, not schools or governments, but schools can help guide them through the maze of issues and prepare them for the transition from child to adult."

Yes, they will take note of the parents values and then they will trample on them and the innocence of the five year olds, nevertheless. SCOTLAND: SHARIA LAW COURTS ARE COMING
From the Scotsman: "Secret talks are under way to bring Islamic sharia law courts to Scotland, The Scotsman has learned.
"Qamar Bhatti, director of the Muslim Arbitration Tribunal (MAT), which runs the courts, admitted discussions were taking place with lawyers and Muslim community groups in Scotland.
"The group is believed to be aiming to set up courts in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
"In September it emerged that five sharia courts, ruling on civil cases from divorce to domestic violence and financial disputes, had been operating for more than a year in London, Birmingham, Bradford, Manchester and at MAT headquarters in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.
"The courts have legal powers, with their decisions enforceable through the county courts or high courts.
"However, concerns have been raised about the establishment of a "dual legal system".
"Women's domestic violence groups have also voiced fears, saying traditional sharia law arbitration is "dangerous and inappropriate" in cases of abuse."
A parallel or dual-legal system which permits Sharia law decisions to have the same force and effect as a Western court will never satisfy the followers of Islam. The goal of Islam is to impose Sharia law throughout the West and bring us all under submission. No culture will survive that believes it can equally co-exist with Islam.

A RESURGENCE OF LATIN AND CLASSICAL EDUCATION

of faith and authentic culture in the most unlikely
places.
Here is a New York Times article on the resurgence of Latin which is described as the "language of scholars and educated people"--and I might add the devout. My own father was a latin teacher in a very wealthy public school school system. Parents who wanted their children to become doctors and lawyers demanded the latin language as preparation for higher education. Most in my homeschooling community are also teaching their children latin because it is and always will be the language of the Church.
Speaking of homeschooling here is another interesting renaissance concept in education called the Chesterton Academy which is headed by Dale Ahlquist.

In a half hour video message, California-native Adam Gadahn urged Pakistanis to unite against their government and U.S. forces, and taunted Americans over their economic crisis, relating it to their military interventions.

Physical and economic jihad is a religious obligation under Islam. Anything from the fraudulent receipt of government handouts, to forcing a military drain on our economy is justified in order to bring down the enemies of Islam.
