"‘We have found no consistent associations between condom use and lower HIV-infection rates, which, 25 years into the pandemic, we should be seeing if this intervention was working.”
So notes Edward C. Green, director of the AIDS Prevention Research Project at the Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies, in response to papal press comments en route to Africa this week.
Benedict XVI said, in response to a French reporter’s Read More...
From Cathnews: "Eighty five year old Carl Djerassi the Austrian chemist who helped invent the contraceptive pill now says that his co-creation has led to a "demographic catastrophe."
Carl Djerassi, an Austrian chemist was one of three whose formulation of the synthetic progestogen Norethisterone marked a key step toward the earliest oral contraceptive pill.
In an Austrian newspaper article Djerassi recently "outlined the "horror scenario" that occurred because of the population imbalance, for which his invention was partly to blame. He said that in most of Europe there was now "no connection at all between sexuality and Read More...

According to God's law and the natural law--PROCREATION IS THE PRIMARY END OF MARRIAGE. In a culture that esteems and promotes the unbridled exaltation of sex, this notion is more shocking to the modern mind than child pornography. But with the loss of fruitless marital sex as the norm we have lost traditional marriage.
The traditional view of marriage has been mocked, chided and rejected by so many it has transformed the very idea of marriage into nothing more than an antiquated and unfortunate monogamous commitment where it is incumbent upon each spouse to engage in fruitless sex i.e., mutual masturbation, for the sole purpose of igniting the insatiable and ever consuming passions of the flesh. But when sex becomes routine and loses its variety, the so-called marriage dies also.
According to the Catholic church, heterosexuals, who plan from the outset of their marriage to frustrate the procreation of children, are never validly married since they are denying an essential property of marriage. Homosexual sex, by nature, renders one incapable of procreation and thereby incapable of a valid marriage to a member of the same sex. Nevertheless, the State in the name of "human dignity" has permitted a sham, because "there can be no true promotion of man's dignity unless the essential order of human nature is respected". Persona Humana, CDF.
As a culture, we wonder why we are all fat when we engage in constant gluttony. We wonder why we are divorced and unhappy when we selfishly seek constant genital gratification while excluding God's natural designs. Finally, we wonder why homosexual "marriage" has snuck up on us when our sex lives have become fruitless-- just like homosexuality. Fruitless sex that excludes God's plan of creation for man is a roadmap for the acceptance of Read More...
An Australian obstetrician and professor of medicine has called for a "baby levy" under which families that have more than two children would be fined $5,000 upon the birth of a third child and $800 annually in the form of a carbon tax.
Dr Barry NJ Walters, recently wrote in the Medical Journal of Australia: "[S]howering financial booty on new mothers" rewards "greenhouse-unfriendly behaviour" and that Australia deserved no more population concessions than India or China. Each child born should be offset by planting 4ha of trees".
In response Cardinal Pell stated: "I am not sure what is more extraordinary, that an obstetrician could hold such a view or that a leading medical journal could publish such a view, but either way, this is a striking illustration of where a minority neo-pagan, anti-human mentality, wants to take us...If we have learned anything from the atrocities of the last century, it is that wide-scale attacks upon human life and dignity stem from reductive understandings of the human person."
Australian Family Association spokeswoman Angela Conway also condemned Walters saying babies don't cause global warming. "I think self-important professors with silly ideas should have to pay carbon tax for all the hot air they create. There's masses of evidence to say that child-rich families have much lower resource consumption per head than other styles of households."
Like the serpent's promise to Adam and Eve, Margaret Sanger visualized a world where sex reigned free of commitment and consequences.
"We must teach men the overwhelming power of this radiant force...through sex mankind may attain the great spiritual illumination which will transform the world, which will light up the only path to an earthly paradise. So must we necessarily and inevitably conceive of sex-expression" Margaret Sanger
In her outlook the libido of the individual becomes the sole purpose of sex. One friend said of Ms. Sanger, "She was the first person I ever knew who was openly an ardent propagandist for 'joys of the flesh'."
In less than a century the majority of the West has adopted this same hedonistic view of human sexuality. Seeking out the "joys of the flesh" has become the norm while the idea of restraint of the Read More...
The lengths that cerrtain nations will go to in order to persuade their citizenry to discard their birth control, and cooperate with natural law is growing more bizarre everyday, and is beginning to sound like something out of a science-fiction novel.
"Alexei Bezrukov and his wife, Yulia, won a 250,000 ruble (US$10,000, €7,316) cash prize in June after she gave birth to a baby boy, Andrei. Bezrukov said patriotism wasn't their motive for having a child, their third, although the money was welcome."

This past weekend a non-Catholic relative informed me that since her husband refused to have a vasectomy she was going to get "fixed". Never mind that you cannot fix something that is not broken, and that fertility is not a disease to be surgically removed--I will not digress into this realm today. We had a long discussion about artificial contraception and I ended up giving her an armload of books and pamphlets in an attempt to convince her of the evil of artificial contraception.
She stated over and over that she was happy with her two children and did not WANT more. When I spoke of the cross of Christ and how we must take it up to be His follower -she stated that she was living life "abundantly" and was "all about grace". She said we aren't supposed to make ourselves miserable here and that God wants us to be Read More...
A U.S. Republican congressman has proposed using condoms to halt immigration of Mexicans into the United States.
"[A] slower rate of growth would...reduce the long-term illegal immigration pressure on America's borders," reasoned Rep. Mark Kirk, who also supports stronger border security in the short-term."
Kirk made the statement during a heated debate in the House of Representatives over whether the US government should be allowed to donate condoms and other contraceptives to foreign family planning agencies.
This was proposed as Mexican birth rates are already in steep decline:
"[F]ertility rates have plunged in Mexico since 1980, when an average couple would have five or more children. Now, the country's fertility rate has dropped to 2.5 children, compared to 2.1 for the United States, according to United Nations data."

On one side of the globe we have the FDA approval of yet another contraceptive pill called Lybrel--- an admitted take off on the word "liberty". This new sterility pill is seen as further liberating women by not only preventing pregnancy but also eradicating menstration.
On the other side of the globe we have the Chinese rioting over forced pregnancy testing, forced abortions, forced sterility and the lack of freedom to procreate. One nation sees liberation as sterility, another as fertility. One revels in sterility the other fights to death if necessary for the God given right to procreate.
Lybrel is not synonomous with liberty--despite what its makers and many women may believe. Any Chinese woman of child bearing age could attest to the lack of liberty that has been brought about under the government's forced one-child policy. Rather Lybrel and all other methods of artificial contraception pervert liberty, further enslave the West in sin, and spell demographic doom.
True liberty consists in doing what is in accordance with natural law and God's commands. Dispensing with the natural law and God's commands can never bring about liberty but only fosters license. License is a heedlessness Read More...
FROM THE CALIFORNIA CATHOLIC DAILY: Millions of women in the United States ingest excess estrogen every day in the form of birth control pills. Within 24 hours, the effluent from those 12 million doses ends up in our sewage systems. And then?
The April 17 Scientific American reported results of a study warning that “many streams, rivers and lakes already bear warning signs that the fish caught within them may also be carrying enough chemicals that mimic the female hormone estrogen to cause breast cancer cells to grow.”
“Fish are really a sentinel, just like canaries in the coal mine 100 years ago,” says Conrad Volz, co-director of exposure assessment at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute's Center for Environmental Ecology. “We need to pay attention to chemicals that are estrogenic in nature, because they find their way back into the water we all use.”
According to the Freshwater Institute’s Fisheries and Oceans section, “The potent synthetic Read More...
