From CNS: In [his] letter, posted on his Web site Oct. 20, Allam said he wanted to tell the pope of his concern for "the serious religious and ethical straying that has infiltrated and spread within the heart of the church."
He told the pope that it "is vital for the common good of the Catholic Church, the general interest of Christianity and of Western civilization itself" that the pope make a pronouncement in "a clear and binding way" on the question of whether Islam is a valid religion.
Allam told Pope Benedict he specifically objected to Cardinal Tauran telling a conference in August that Islam itself promotes peace but that "'some believers' have 'betrayed their faith,'" using it as a pretext for violence.
"The objective reality, I tell you with all sincerity and animated by a constructive intent, is exactly the opposite of what Cardinal Read More...
Is there any wonder why our culture has become perverse and sex-obsessed when Christians reject and/or neglect the most powerful assistance to live out the Christian life--the Eucharist? Just for a moment, contemplate the percentage of human beings who believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist--I am certain, as you will be fter listening to the following podcast, that this figure correlates with those who are able to resist the world and live a truly chaste life, whether in marriage or as a single person.
Here is a little blessing for your listening pleasure-- Fr John Hardon's simple yet deep words about the Eucharist and chastity. The following podcast is approximately 26 minutes long but well worth your time. You can hear why he may become a saint. To listen: FR HARDON PODCAST.
From dailymail: "Sharia tribunals will be able to decide how a Muslim couple divide their money and property and who gets the children.
The decision follows nine months of controversy over the role of tribunals run according to Islamic strictures.
Muslim ministers have warned that sharia should not have an official role because it accords unequal status to men and women.
Giving more weight to evidence from men could hand them a greater share of property and enhanced custody rights."
The sharia law proceeding and the judgment will be secret. Therefore, any review of the decision by a formal court would not reveal any injustices.
"Robert Whelan, of the Civitas think-tank, said: 'The problem with the Government's attitude is the big question over how far submission to sharia courts is voluntary among Muslim women.
'Women who live in some communities may have no option but to go to the sharia court. The case is then rubber-stamped by a family court without any of us knowing how the decision was reached.'
Islamic tribunals have authority to make decisions in business and financial disputes where both parties agree to accept arbitration."
After celebrating the Feast of Christ the King on Sunday, I cannot help but think that all hell has been set loose on the world. When Christian-based laws are replaced with the inequitable and demeaning laws of Islam we have embarked on a road that will bring about horrific injustices.
"With God and Jesus Christ...excluded from political life, with authority derived not from God but from man, the very basis of that authority has been taken away, because the chief reason of the distinction between ruler and subject has been eliminated. The result is that human society is tottering to its fall, because it has no longer a secure and solid foundation. When once men recognize, both in private and in public life, that Christ is King, society will at last receive the great blessings of real liberty, well-ordered discipline, peace and harmony." From dailymail (HT: Stella Little): "Pupils need schools to help them cope with the dangers of modern life such as binge drinking and substance abuse, according to the Government.
"Ministers said putting social education on the national curriculum for five- to 16-year-olds would help cut teen pregnancy rates and binge drinking.
Schools Minister Jim Knight said making social and health education compulsory was "a bold move and a necessary one".
"We need structured classroom teaching ... Parents bring up children, not schools or governments, but schools can help guide them through the maze of issues and prepare them for the transition from child to adult."
Mr Knight said the system would be flexible enough to allow schools to take parents' values and beliefs into account."
Yes, they will take note of the parents values and then they will trample on them and the innocence of the five year olds, nevertheless. Dare I say children need God, His laws and the knowledge of eternal reward and punishment to do the right thing--not a relativistic, sex-promoting government program.
"Ireland will undergo English oppression for a week of centuries but will preserve her fidelity to God and His Church. At the end of this time Ireland will be delivered and the English in turn must suffer severe chastisements. Ireland, however, will be instrumental in bringing back the English to the unity of faith." St. Malachy (1148)
Press Release from Precious Life: "Precious Life claim victory after the proposal to extend abortion to Northern Ireland failed to be debated in the Westminster Parliament. We are absolutely delighted. It was Precious Life's "pro-life tidal wave from Northern Ireland" that forced the government to effectively scrap the proposal.
The vote on extending the 1967 Abortion Act was scheduled as an amendment to the controversial Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill. This was the first time in nearly 20 years that MPs had a chance to vote on the issue. However, it failed to reach the floor of the House of Commons after the government used a parliamentary procedure to ensure the amendment would not be introduced during the afternoon's debate. It has been reported that ministers were reluctant to allow a vote on the issue given the strength of opposition from Northern Ireland.
In a statement to the media, Director of Precious Life, Bernadette Smyth said, "I am absolutely delighted that our unborn children are safe from Read More...
From dailymail (HT STELLA LITTLE): "Parents waving their children off to Scout camp may soon have more to worry about than the youngsters swapping ghost stories after dark.
In a move that has alarmed traditionalists, the Scout Association is to introduce sex education for its young members.
Leaders will be able to give confidential contraceptive advice to under-16s and even hand out emergency condoms on trips.
The Association insists the information will help Scouts resist peer pressure to have sex before they are ready.
But critics claim it will encourage boys and girls to become sexually active earlier.
Nick Seaton, of the Campaign for Real Education, said: 'This will horrify a lot of parents.
'These things have nothing to do with Scouting. They should be sticking to the traditional activities of camp fires and sing- songs instead of learning about sexually transmitted diseases and emergency contraception.'
The advice that leaders can give is outlined in a factsheet published today by the Scout Association, which has 60,000 girl members and 400,000 boys and young men.
Scouts aged ten-and-a-half to 14 will be able to discuss where to get contraception and pregnancy testing and how to find sexual health clinics."
"Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to the skies? No, you will go down to the depths. If the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day. But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you." Matt 11:20-24

The criticism that Islamic tenets flout the principles of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights came during a meeting of Spanish-speaking bishops at the three-week gathering, the report said.
The Catholic church, in its relations with Muslims, "should keep in mind their conception of marriage and the family, which does not accord women the rights contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights", said the spokesman, Julian Carron, quoting from a summary of the discussion.
For this reason, the bishops called on the church to exercise "caution" in its efforts at rapprochement with Islam, Carron said."
I can only hope and pray that this is a sign that the Church will not engage in "ecumania" and instead will hold fast to truth. In the words of St Francis of Assisi to the Sultan: "If you do not wish to believe we will commend your soul to God because we declare that if you die while holding to your law you will be lost; God will not accept your soul".
From the telegraph: "Beatles songs as likely to explain Christianity as the Bible, says bishop"...
"The Rt Rev Nick Baines, Bishop of Croydon, has urged churches to use hits by bands such as U2 and the Beatles in their services.
"In a book backed by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, he argues that pop music writers can convey deep theological concepts in a way that is more accessible to the younger generation.
"Hundreds of evangelical churches have already turned to guitar-based songs instead of traditional hymns, but the bishop suggests that clergy still need to be more creative in appealing to non-churchgoers.
"Artists highlighted for exploring Christian themes in their music include Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan and John Lennon, who famously claimed the Beatles were bigger than Jesus.
"For many people the language of the Bible has become inaccessible and yet pop song writers can make a connection with people because their language is fresh," he said.
"They are able to open our imagination to a way of thinking about God that we've become deaf to in church language."

From Mailonline (HT: STELLA LITTLE): The powers would allow investigators to break in to suspects’ homes to collect DNA which could then be shared with foreign governments to check for links to crime and terrorism.
The new law, being discussed by Parliament, would mean the ‘stolen’ samples – thousands of which have already been taken by the security services – would be admissible in court and at a stroke hugely expand the Government’s controversial DNA database."

Thompson was responding to criticism from comedian Ben Elton, who accused the BBC of being scared to make jokes about Islam.
Asked whether it was correct that the BBC "let vicar gags pass but not imam gags"...he admitted it did take a different approach to Islam, which has 1.6 million followers in Britain, compared to its approach to the Church of England or the Roman Catholic Church.
Mr Thompson said: 'What Christian identity feels like to the broad population is a little bit different to people for whom their religion is also associated with an ethnic identity which has not been fully integrated...'There's no reason why any religion should be immune from discussion, but I don't want to say that all religions Read More...
"Under the proposal, internet service providers and telecoms companies would hand over millions of phone and internet records to the Home Office, which would store them for at least 12 months so that the police and security services could access them. It is understood that more than £1bn has been earmarked for the database."
"The proposal emerged as part of plans to implement an EU directive developed after the 7 July bombings to bring uniformity to record-keeping. Since last October telecoms companies have been required to keep records of phone calls and text messages for 12 months. That requirement is to be extended to internet, email and voice-over-internet use and included in a Communications Data Bill."
Everything seems to be lining up in accordance with the prophecies of scripture and the saints. Terrorism and now the global economic crisis have provided our leaders with an unprecedented opportunity to centralize financial power and to keep watch over us. Nations are even taking an ownership interest in private banks.
According to St Malachi's prophecies there is to be only one more pope after Pope Benedict XVI...
"In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Petrus Romanus, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations; after which the seven-hilled city (The Vatican) will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End."
If St Malachi's prophecies are accurate-- then time is very short because Pope Benedict will be 81 this year. We must watch, pray and offer penance to God.
"Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life: and few there are that find it!" Matt 7:13-14

St. Padre Pio demonstrated the depth of his love and loyalty to the Church when he publicly praised and defended Pope Paul VI for his encyclical Humanae Vitae, “Of Human Life.” 1 Upon its release in the summer of 1968, a torrent of vilification and disobedience was unleashed upon the Pontiff from within the Church, as well as mockery and scorn from without. Such open rebellion against Peter’s successor was unprecedented, and yet he had done nothing more than his solemn duty to uphold the infallible, magisterial teaching of Catholicism against unnatural methods of birth control.

From the Scotsman: "Secret talks are under way to bring Islamic sharia law courts to Scotland, The Scotsman has learned.
"Qamar Bhatti, director of the Muslim Arbitration Tribunal (MAT), which runs the courts, admitted discussions were taking place with lawyers and Muslim community groups in Scotland.
"The group is believed to be aiming to set up courts in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
"In September it emerged that five sharia courts, ruling on civil cases from divorce to domestic violence and financial disputes, had been operating for more than a year in London, Birmingham, Bradford, Manchester and at MAT headquarters in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.
"The courts have legal powers, with their decisions enforceable through the county courts or high courts.
"However, concerns have been raised about the establishment of a "dual legal system".
"Women's domestic violence groups have also voiced fears, saying traditional sharia law arbitration is "dangerous and inappropriate" in cases of abuse."
A parallel or dual-legal system which permits Sharia law decisions to have the same force and effect as a Western court will never satisfy the followers of Islam. The goal of Islam is to impose Sharia law throughout the West and bring us all under submission. No culture will survive that believes it can equally co-exist with Islam.
Since 1571 Europe and much of the world have forgotten their history, the Rosary, and indeed the faith. Radical and adversarial Islam is once again marching with hostile forces that are multiplying demographically across Europe in lightning speed, while a sterile and abortion-obsessed Europe commits suicide as it bows helplessly before its indefatigable assailants. Crippled before its arch enemy, post-Christian Europe can only limp along before these monolithic forces of evil because of Europe's own perilous weakness of no longer being unified in its faith, beliefs and culture.
There are different types of evil that plague the world- the worst being moral or spiritual evil. It includes all those who reject God as He truly reveals HIMSELF--through his son Jesus Christ. Since the followers of Islam reject Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation the religion of Islam poses a grave spiritual evil to not only its followers but to the world.
But evil is always in the last analysis a privation of good. For example, night is a privation of the light of day, while vice is a privation of God's goodness. Moreover, evil Read More...
Here is a New York Times article on the resurgence of Latin which is described as the "language of scholars and educated people"--and I might add the devout. My own father was a latin teacher in a very wealthy public school school system. Parents who wanted their children to become doctors and lawyers demanded the latin language as preparation for higher education. Most in my homeschooling community are also teaching their children latin because it is and always will be the language of the Church.
Speaking of homeschooling here is another interesting renaissance concept in education called the Chesterton Academy which is headed by Dale Ahlquist.
In a half hour video message, California-native Adam Gadahn urged Pakistanis to unite against their government and U.S. forces, and taunted Americans over their economic crisis, relating it to their military interventions.
"The enemies of Islam are facing a crushing defeat, which is beginning to manifest itself in the expanding crisis their economy is experiencing," said Gadahn, in a clip of the message distributed by the SITE Intelligence Group, a Washington-based monitor of militant Web sites.
"A crisis whose primary cause, in addition to the abortive and unsustainable crusades they are waging in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq, is their turning their backs on Allah's revealed laws, which forbid interest-bearing transactions, exploitation, greed and injustice in all its forms."
Gadahn, 29, grew up in Riverside County, east of Los Angeles. He was indicted by a federal grand jury in Santa Ana in 2005 and charged with one count of treason and two counts of providing material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization.
The FBI says Gadahn moved to Pakistan in 1998 and attended an al-Qaida training camp six years later, serving as a translator and consultant."
Physical and economic jihad is a religious obligation under Islam. Anything from the fraudulent receipt of government handouts, to forcing a military drain on our economy is justified in order to bring down the enemies of Islam. Lately, though, it seems that Islam could simply sit back and wait for us to destroy ourselves through, among other things, greed.
"I come to America with a mission. All is not well in the old world. There is a tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic. We might be in the final stages of the Islamization of Europe. This not only is a clear and present danger to the future of Europe itself, it is a threat to America and the sheer survival of the West. The danger I see looming is the scenario of America as the last man standing. The United States as the last bastion of Western civilization, facing an Islamic Europe. In a generation or two, the US will ask itself: who lost Europe? Patriots from around Europe risk their lives every day to prevent precisely this scenario form becoming a reality.
I must add that this could only be the case if America were to survive the current economic crisis which is now being postponed until a later date due to the bailout of the greedy. I would also add that the last best hope against the destruction of Western Civilization is the Catholic Church and not America.

British schools are even encouraged to monitor their rolls carefully and raise the alarm when children disappear.
