DON'T PROMOTE MARRIAGE OR TEACH THAT IT IS BETTER THAN HOMOSEXUAL PARTNERSHIPS -- SAY ACADEMICS
traditional-catholic-wedding-nuptial-mass

"We must never allow freedom of religion to be hijacked and used as a pretext to discriminate against gay and lesbian teenagers in schools."
Stephen Desmond, Thames Valley University

From This is London: Academics are calling for teachers to be banned from promoting marriage in the classroom.

They say homosexuality must be given equal status to stop the spread of "bigoted" attitudes in schools and university campuses.

Current Government guidance on sex education says children must be taught "the importance of marriage for family life".

Teachers are also permitted to voice their opposition to homosexuality if it stems from personal or religious conviction.

This allows faith schools to teach that same- sex relationships are at odds with their religion.

But members of the University and College Union - representing 120,000 lecturers - are calling for a change in the law to stop teachers telling children that marriage is superior to gay partnerships.

This would apply to all teachers, including staff in faith schools.

Delegates at the union's annual congress in Bournemouth were critical of recently-passed gay rights laws which failed to ban teachers from expressing personal views on homosexuality.

They said the legislation, which is aimed at banning discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation, did not go far enough.

Delegates unanimously backed a motion demanding an end to "negative characterisations" of gay lifestyles.

Alan Whitaker, from Oxford and Cherwell Valley College in Oxfordshire, said: "They (the new regulations) did nothing to stop the negative characterisation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender lifestyles by teachers.

"The regulations actually say that there is nothing to stop teachers proclaiming the superiority of heterosexual marriage.
"The regulations say it's unlawful to characterise same-sex relationships as inferior.

"But to my mind it's rather difficult to see how you can do the one without implying you are doing the other."

He added: "Legislation cannot do all the work. It may remove the injustice but it cannot change attitudes.

"If attitudes are to change that will come about as a result of education.

"And that makes it vitally important that teachers do not instil negative images of same-sex relationships and transgender people in those that they teach. Absolutely not."

He proposed a motion calling for the laws to be urgently rewritten to help stop bullying of gay and lesbian students in schools and universities.

The call is certain to infuriate religious groups.

The Church of England is among faiths which lobbied the Government for gay rights laws to continue to allow Anglican schools to teach that the Bible forbids homosexuality.

But Stephen Desmond, from Thames Valley University, told delegates:
"We must never allow freedom of religion to be hijacked and used as a pretext to discriminate against gay and lesbian teenagers in schools."

According to Government guidance, "if a faith school (or indeed any school) teaches that the Christian and Muslim faiths decree that same- sex sexual activity is a sin, then the school will not be acting unlawfully".

It adds: "Similarly, if a pupil asks a teacher his views on homosexuality and the teacher gives his view, then again, that teacher will not be acting unlawfully.

"In both cases, the subject must be dealt with appropriately in accordance with existing guidance."

Hugh McKinney, chairman of the National Family Campaign, said: "There are differing views on how marriage should be taught in schools and this includes a faithbased and non faith-based position. This has to be fair all round.

"There should be an opt- out available for faith-based schools to allow teachers to teach what has traditionally been the case in the UK, and to reflect the majority of the population, regardless of orientation.

"The legislation has only just been passed so we don't actually know the legality or otherwise of any set of teaching at the moment."

MUSLIMS IN THE WEST--40 TO 60 PERCENT WANT TO LIVE UNDER SHARIA LAW
eurabia

It is critical that the West understand the fundamental beliefs of Islam and its objectives. To fail to do so could lead to our own demise. Here is a recent
question and answer with Mark Steyn the author of America Alone on the topic:

"[W]hat would you say to those who believe that majority Islam is not synonymous with fundamentalist Islam?

Mark Steyn:
Fundamentalist is a term we use rather carelessly. Very few people take the trouble to become suicide bombers and that's good news, but the reality is that substantial numbers of Muslims agree with the aims of the Jihadists even if they don't choose to blow themselves up. When Muslims in the West are polled, 40 to 60 percent wish to live under Sharia and wish to reside in the United Kingdom and the United States as opposed to Saudi Arabia. They may disagree with the means but they entirely support the ends. The goal is an Islamic republic in the UK, the U.S. or the Netherlands, and that provides the radicals with a lot of cushion. Remember, the running of a community is mostly done by its most aggressive, extremist elements.
The most difficult part of Islamic Law for most westerners to grasp is that there is no separation of church and state. The religion of Islam and the government are one. Islamic Law is controlled, ruled and regulated by the Islamic religion. The theocracy controls all public and private matters. Government, law and religion are one. There are varying degrees of this concept in many nations, but all law, government and civil authority rests upon it and it is a part of Islamic religion."

Islam cannot peacably coexist under a Western form of government. Those who think that it can are foolhardy. In Islam, sharia is the expression of the divine will, and constitutes a system of duties that are incumbent upon a "good" muslim by virtue of his religious belief. Yet to a muslim, sharia is not merely a codification of laws--it is the main pillar of Islamic theocracy. Muslims believe it is god's divine command to establish a global islamic state in order to apply sharia. Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi (1903-1971) who is seen as a founding fathers of the global Islamic revivalist movements stated:

"The objective of Islamic 'jihad' is to eliminate the rule of an un-Islamic system and establish in its stead an Islamic system of state rule. Islam does not intend to confine this revolution to a single state or a few countries; the aim of Islam is to bring about a universal revolution.'"

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RELIGIOUS FEELING AND FAITH
005

"Not everyone who says to me 'Lord, Lord': shall enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father in heaven shall enter the kingdom of heaven. Many will say to me in that day, 'Lord, Lord did we not prophesy in thy name, and work many miracles in thy name?' And then I will declare unto them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you workers of iniquity!'
Matthew 7:21-23

How can a person who lacks the true faith, or for that matter lacks essential truths, appear zealous and dutiful in the practice of their religion? From the muslim who kills in the name of allah, to the thrice divorced born again, or the contracepting Catholic--how can they appear to be religious while failing to follow God's commands? I recently stumbled upon an excellent explanation for this in a book called Letters To A Mother by Father Emmanuel Marie Andre.

"A religious feeling is...of the natural order. A religious feeling is the natural consequence of being creatures, just as respect for parents is natural to the child."

"The religious feeling, being natural to man, is found in all men, faithful and infidels; for all of them have these remains of respect for God which is sometimes manifested by a religious act founded upon truth---as for Christians, sometimes for a religious act full of errors---as for the infidels and the idol worshippers, etc."

"There are nations among which the religious feeling is naturally very deep--among the Arabs, for example. An Arab will never fail to say his morning prayer, his noon prayer, and his evening prayer. From the height of his minaret he hears the muezzin cry the sacred formula: "La Allah...",etc...Here is religious feeling in all its power."

"
But remember ...our nature is fallen in Adam. From a fallen nature can only come a religious feeling deprived also of vitality. Nature cannot rise again from itself, and the purely natural religious feeling definitely cannot bring man back to God nor take him away from sin. So with all his natural religiousness, one can keep all the vices that are unfortunatley natural to him, too. One can be vain, a liar, a thief.

Thus these are the characteristics of religious feeling: "It sees nothing, wants nothing, can do nothing against sin....It adapts itself to everything, it comes to term with everything, it falls in with everything, it devotes itself to nothing.

On the other hand faith is supernatural ...[f]aith is the adhesion of our spirit to the truth revealed by God. It is a good that does not derive from our nature but which is given to it from above in order to heal it. Faith is essentially purifying... It enlightens the spirit, cleanses it of errors. It straightens the fallen man, places him again in the way of God."

"The emotional revivalist often produces valuable effects, but all revivalist movements are subject to the law of diminishing returns. It is impossible for men to live forever on the heights. A religion which equates the emotional state with salvation is a broken reed when the temperature drops. Much misery has been caused by the evangelical doctrine that Christianity is worthless unless it is the product of a conversion which is always represented as a vivid religious experience."

BIOLOGICAL SLAVERY--SWEDEN APPROVES EMBRYO SCREENING TO AID DYING SIBLINGS
Designer Babies

Swedish authorities have permitted three families to screen embryos in order to create a child that will act as a stem cell donor for a dying sibling.

"Under the procedure, an embryo is tested in vitro for a desired genotype before implantation into the uterus, in what is called pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). That has been allowed for some time in Sweden, in particular to screen for single-gene diseases such as cystic fibrosis as well as chromosomal abnormalities such as Down's Syndrome. But for the first time, authorities will allow the embryos to be screened to find a tissue match for a sick sibling, in a process called human leukocyte antigen testing (HLA)."

"After the child is born, stem cells from its placenta and umbilical cord are transferred to the sick sibling. Once in the bone marrow, the stem cells will start producing blood cells. These are the first cases in Sweden to be granted the procedure following a law on genetic screening that came into force in July last year. The procedure has been criticized by some who consider the screening process unethical.

Call me negative! I can already see the future headline: "
Embryo shopping approved for the dying"--after all --why stop at siblings? It is only a matter of time before master embryos are created which would enable us to shop for a biological slave that could save us from suffering and death.

NEW CALIFORNIA LAW-- KINDERGARTENERS WILL LEARN ABOUT TRANSSEXUALITY, BISEXUALITY AND HOMOSEXUALITY

capt_gay2

From Spero: Legislation passed the California senate mandating that school children, starting in kindergarten, learn about sexual deviancy. The bill requires postive portrayals of same-sex marriage, and all other aspects of homosexual and bisexual activity.

New radical legislation, mandating that schoolchildren as young as kindergarten learn about transsexuality, bisexuality and homosexuality, has passed the California State Senate.

SB 777 requires textbooks, instructional materials, and school-sponsored activities to positively portray cross-dressing, sex-change operations, same-sex marriages, all aspects of homosexuality and bisexuality, and so-called "gay history." Silence on these sexual lifestyles will not be allowed.

Yesterday’s vote, 23 to 13, was on a party line -- Democrats for, Republicans against. No Republican senator rose to speak against the bill.

SB 777 would teach these sexual subjects without parental permission. The new mandate would be enforced by the attorneys of the California Department of Education, which would sue school districts that do not comply.

“The notion of forcing children to support controversial sexual lifestyles is shocking and appalling to millions of fathers and mothers," said Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families (CCF). The group is calling on the governor to pledge to veto the bill.

"Parents don't want their children taught to become homosexual or bisexual or to wonder whether they need a sex-change operation,” said Thomasson. “SB 777 will shatter the academic purpose of education by turning every government school into a sexual indoctrination center."

The bill would also replace the definition of sex in the Education Code, which currently reads: “Sex means the biological condition or quality of being a male or female human being.”

It would be replaced with “Gender means sex, and includes a person's gender identity and gender related appearance and behavior whether or not stereotypically associated with the person's assigned sex at birth.”

The definition was authored by lesbian Senator Sheila Kuehl."

PUBLIC OPINION POLLS ON THE BODY AND BLOOD OF JESUS
Kd-Keys.sm

The poll wielding bullies are at it again.

The Pope believes that Catholic politicians who support abortion rights should be denied communion. Do you agree or disagree?

Agree 23%

Disagree 53%

The arrogance and futility of such a poll borders on hilarity. The topic of the poll is the Body and Blood of the Son of God--the Messiah. It is as if they were asking if the pope's selection of cologne or his choice of sunglasses is proper? The reverence due to the Body and Blood of the Son of God is not subject to public opinion. Nor is anything else that the Church does or does not do.

The issue is authority--which Americans cannot grasp, and which is seen as down-right un-American. The pollsters seek to exert public opinion pressure on the Church in order to make it conform to the world. This has been satan's mission since his failed attempt to convince Christ to bow before him.

ONE NATION SEES LIBERATION AS STERILITY--ANOTHER AS FERTILITY
11immacu_2

On one side of the globe we have the FDA approval of yet another contraceptive pill called Lybrel--- an admitted take off on the word "liberty". This new sterility pill is seen as further liberating women by not only preventing pregnancy but also eradicating menstration.

On the other side of the globe we have the Chinese rioting over forced pregnancy testing, forced abortions, forced sterility and the lack of freedom to procreate. One nation sees liberation as sterility, another as fertility. One revels in sterility the other fights to death if necessary for the God given right to procreate.

Lybrel is not synonomous with liberty--despite what its makers and many women may believe. Any Chinese woman of child bearing age could attest to the lack of liberty that has been brought about under the government's forced one-child policy. Rather Lybrel and all other methods of artificial contraception pervert liberty, further enslave the West in sin, and spell demographic doom.

True liberty consists in doing what is in accordance with natural law and God's commands. Dispensing with the natural law and God's commands can never bring about liberty but only fosters license. License is a heedlessness for the precepts of proper behavior. It is an excessive and unrestrained freedom
that allows or is used with irresponsibility. Prevention of pregnancy by artificial means is unnatural and contrary to the laws of nature and God's commands and thus robs humanity of liberty. “When liberty becomes license, dictatorship is near” Will Durant. "[L]iberty will ever be more free and secure in proportion as license is kept in fuller restraint." Pope Leo XIII. An old french proverb says: "liberty has no greater enemy than license". The freedom to sin is mere license and cannot be equated with true liberty.

Here is a little more on the topic from Pope Leo XIII's encyclical-- Libertas:

"Having a false and absurd notion as to what liberty is, either they pervert the very idea of freedom, or they extend it at their pleasure to many things in respect of which man cannot rightly be regarded as free." ..."But many there are who follow in the footsteps of Lucifer, and adopt as their own his rebellious cry, "I will not serve"; and consequently substitute for true liberty what is sheer and most foolish license. Such, for instance, are the men belonging to that widely spread and powerful organization, who, usurping the name of liberty, style themselves liberals.

"Hence, these followers of liberalism deny the existence of any divine authority to which obedience is due, and proclaim that every man is the
law to himself; from which arises that ethical system which they style independent morality, and which, under the guise of liberty, exonerates man from any obedience to the commands of God, and substitutes a boundless license. The end of all this it is not difficult to foresee, especially when society is in question. For, when once man is firmly persuaded that he is subject to no one, it follows that the efficient cause of the unity of civil society is not to be sought in any principle external to man, or superior to him, but simply in the free will of individuals; that the authority in the State comes from the people only; and that, just as every man's individual reason is his only rule of life, so the collective reason of the community should be the supreme guide in the management of all public affairs. Hence the doctrine of the supremacy of the greater number, and that all right and all duty reside in the majority.

"For, to reject the supreme authority to God, and to cast off all obedience to Him in public matters, or even in private and domestic affairs, is the greatest perversion of liberty and the worst kind of liberalism; and what We have said must be understood to apply to this alone in its fullest sense." Pope Leo XIII 1888

A DESPERATE PLEA FROM A PAKISTANI CHRISTIAN CONVERT
_1624617_ap_congregation300

Persecution of Christians is intensifying in Pakistan. There seems to be no end to the reports of Muslim on Christian violence. Christians are being driven from their homes, while Islamic legislation that would subject males to a death sentence for conversion to Christianity is gaining acceptance. Pakistan's Christians which comprise only three percent of a population of 160 million may be facing nothing less than elimination and extermination.

I recently received a desperate email from a man who claimed to be a Christian convert in Pakistan. He is desperate to find safety and security from muslims that are aware of his conversion and seek to kill him. He also desires true Christian fellowship. I have decided to publish his emails in the hopes that it will raise our awareness of the dire circumstances that Christians are facing all over the world, and in the hopes that we can assist him. I will let you be the judge as to the authenticity. His emails follow. I have excised his name and address for security reasons. I also have taken the liberty of underlining certain portions of his emails. If you would like to correspond with him his email is:

CHINESE RIOT OVER ONE CHILD POLICY
populationcontrol5
Pray for these poor people!
From International Herald Tribune: BEIJING: A intensive campaign to enforce strict population-control measures prompted violent clashes between the police and local residents in southwestern China in recent days, witnesses said, describing the latest incident of rural unrest that has alarmed senior officials in Beijing.

Villagers and visitors to several counties of Guangxi autonomous region in southwestern China said rioters smashed and burned government offices, overturned official vehicles, and clashed with the riot police in a series of confrontations over the past four days.

They gave varying accounts of injuries and deaths, with some asserting that as many as five people were killed, including three officials responsible for population-control work. A local government official in one of the counties affected confirmed the rioting in an interview by telephone but denied reports of deaths or serious injuries.

The violence appeared to stem from a two-month-long crackdown in Guangxi to punish people who violated the country's birth control policy. The policy limits the number of children families can have legally.

Corruption, land grabs, pollution, unpaid wages and a widening wealth gap have fueled tens of thousands of incidents of unrest in recent years, many of them occurring in rural areas that have been left behind in China's long economic boom.

The central government, expressing concern that unrest could undermine one-party rule, have alleviated the tax burden on peasants and sought to curtail confiscations of farmland for development. But China's hinterland remains volatile compared with the relative prosperity and stability of its largest cities.

To limit the growth of its population of 1.3 billion, many parts of China rely more on financial penalties and incentives than on coercive measures, including forced abortions and sterilizations, that were common in the 1980s, when the so-called one-child policy was first strictly enforced.

But local officials who fail to meet annual population control targets can still come under heavy bureaucratic pressure to reduce births in their area of responsibility or face demotion or removal from office.

According to villagers and witness accounts posted on the Internet, officials in several parts of Guangxi mobilized their largest effort in years to roll back population growth by instituting mandatory health checks for women and forcing pregnant women who did not have approval to give birth to abort fetuses.

Several people said officials also slapped fines starting at 500 yuan and ranging as high as 70,000 yuan, or $65 to $9,000, on families that had violated birth control measures anytime since 1980. The new tax, called a "social child-raising fee," was collected even though the vast majority of violators had already paid fines in the past, the people said.

According to an account published on a Web forum called Longtan, officials in Bobai County of Guangxi boasted that they had collected 7.8 million yuan in social child-raising fees from February through the end of April.

Many families objected strongly to the fees and refused to pay. Witnesses said in such cases villagers were detained, their homes searched, and valuables, including electronic items and motorcycles, confiscated by the government.

"Worst of all, the gangsters used hammers and iron rods to destroy people's homes, while threatening that the next time it would be with bulldozers," said one local peasant, who identified himself as Nong Sheng and who faxed a petition letter complaining of the abuses to a reporter in Beijing.

Nong said the crackdown was widespread in several counties in Guangxi. He said local courts had declined to hear any cases related to the matter, citing an edict from local officials.

Other villagers reached by phone described an escalating series of confrontations that began Thursday and continued through the weekend. Several described in detail an assault on the government offices of Shapi Township, Bobai County, by thousands of peasants.

They said villagers broke through a wall surrounding the government building, ransacked the offices, smashed computers and destroyed documents and then set fire to the building itself. There were inconsistent reports of death and injuries during that clash and a subsequent crackdown by riot police.

THE DOMINATION OF THE CHURCH BY THE STATE
Station_of_Cross_01_DSCN5436_copy

Separation of church and state is the constant cry from secularists. But this will never suffice. What secularists truly seek is the subjection of Church to the State in all things. It won't be long before the denial of sacraments to certain persons will be seen as a violation of civil rights and tantamount to hate.

This scenario is not a false alarm, but is very real and was predicted by Pope St. Pius X in 1907:

"[I]t is not enough for the modernist school that the State should be separated from the Church...the Church must be subject to the State. This, indeed, modernists may not yet say openly but they are forced by the logic of their position to admit it. For granted the principle that in temporal matters the State possesses the sole power, it will follow that when the believer, not satisfied with merely internal acts of religion, proceeds to external acts --such for instance as the reception or administration of the of the Sacraments --these will fall under the control of the State. What will then become of ecclesiastical authority, which can only be exercised by external acts? Obviously it will be completely under the dominion of the State." Pascendi Gregis

The domination of the State over religion has begun and can be seen in the following: Pharmacists and Catholic hospitals in many states no longer have the right to refuse to dispense abortion drugs based upon conscience. Landlords have no right to refuse tenancy to those who live a lifestyle that violates the landlord's beliefs or principles. Religious employers must provide birth control coverage for its employees. Some Western countries are now prosecuting those who interpret the bible in a "hateful" manner so as to offend homosexuals.

All of these laws have in common the aim to protect sin in the name of civil rights--whether that be the "right" to kill one's child or the "right" to fornicate or sodomize. The right to sin now trumps the constitutionally mandated right to the free exercise of one's religion. Today the state has a complete disregard for the spiritual good of its citizenry let alone their eternal souls. Rather than acknowledging that the domain of spiritual matters belongs to religion--the Church is instead not only silenced, but is also made to participate in the corruption of the people. In reality there is no true separation of church and state in the West, instead the Church has been amputated from any influence on the world and is becoming dominated.

"[I]t is a sin for the State not to have care for religion as a something beyond its scope, or as of no practical benefit; or out of many forms of religion to adopt that one which chimes in with the fancy; for we are bound absolutely to worship God in that way which He has shown to be His will. All who rule, therefore, would hold in honor the holy name of God, and one of their chief duties must be to favor religion, to protect it, to shield it under the credit and sanction of the laws, and neither to organize nor enact any measure that may compromise its safety. This is the bounden duty of rulers to the people over whom they rule." Immortale Dei, Pope Leo XIII

Is it beyond reason to imagine that with the seemingly inevitable acceptance of homosexual "marriage" that the denial of the sacrament of holy matrimony could amount to a denial of civil rights or even a crime by the Church?

SCOTLAND: THE ZEAL OF ATHEISTS AND MUSLIMS TO KILL CATHOLIC SCHOOLS
williamwallace2
A large segment of the population in the West is hell-bent on killing Christianity. There have been many reports of late about the growing militancy in atheism. It is a militancy that will not abide with the presence of Christianity in society.

Behind so much of this animosity is the radical homosexual agenda. Where this agenda is present there is a powerful spirit that is truly anti Jesus Christ. With any degree of proximity to it one can sense the degree of loathing and hatred that led to Christ's death on the cross.

Although these people lack the wisdom of God they do not lack satanic craftiness. This militant atheism has infiltrated the state run public schools. They seek to gain access to the blank slate of children's minds. It is now becoming a standard part of sex education to show children images of homosexual sex. In destroying the innocence of children in the name of tolerance, they are creating a generation that will experiment with homosexuality like past generations experimented with smoking.

Children that attend denominational schools and who are lost to their indoctrination efforts are now being battled over. Access to these children will be sought by breaking down the religious freedom of denominational schools. The battle has begun in Scotland. Catholic schools in Scotland are considered to be "public schools"--but are designated as "denominational schools". Nevertheless, under the 1980 Education Act, representatives of the Catholic Church can block teachers from employment or promotion in denominational schools on the grounds of their "religious belief and character".

The union of Scottish teachers now claims that denying positions in Catholic schools to otherwise qualified teachers based upon their morality, character or religion is discriminatory and violates the European Convention on Human Rights. Here is the full story from The Herald.

But for some, denying Catholics the freedom to choose their own teachers does not go far enough. Others want Catholic schools completely abolished.

First there is the leader of Scotland's Green Party, Robin Harper. He recently stated: "State education should be secular". He promised that the Green Party would work to end government support for parochial schools. Harper also stated that the existence of religious schools "tends to divide communities". He said Catholics should receive their religious instruction through their parents and pastors.

Finally there is the call for the abolition of Catholic schools by Muslims. From the Scotsman: "An Islamic campaign group has called for a Catholic primary school to be based on the Muslim faith.

The Campaign for Muslim Schools said
90 per cent of pupils at St Albert's Primary, in the Pollokshields area of Glasgow, are Muslim, yet children are having to take part in Catholic rituals like saying the Lord's Prayer and attending mass.

Osama Saeed, co-ordinator of the alliance of Glasgow's main mosques and Muslim organisations, said he could see no reason why the main faith of the school should not change.

He said: "Clearly the parents of that area find a faith school, even if it is of another denomination, preferable to a secular one. But surely it should be possible for them to have one that is relevant to their own faith.

"To move towards this would be a fantastic example of good faith - in more ways than one - on the part of the Church."

The call came just days after Scotland's most senior Catholic, Cardinal Keith O'Brien, sparked controversy by stating that Scotland's core faith was Christianity and that other faiths should recognise they were "living in Scotland as a Christian country". A spokesman for the Catholic Church in Scotland was not available for comment tonight.

THE VICIOUS CYCLE OF SOCIALISM THAT FUELS DEMOGRAPHIC DOOM
mothers_day

Europe has attempted to halt a demographic crash through socialistic legislation designed to stave off the muslim onslaught and increase its native population. Germany and other countries have begun paying women to have children and also provide nationalized child care. Although well intentioned, wisdom is lacking as to the source and solution. Because these laws are based upon a socialistic agenda, rather than bringing about lasting and necessary changes in the hearts and mind of its people --they will instead deepen the problem.

Paying women to have children is strictly an economic motivator and cannot achieve lasting generational changes that are needed for a society to continue to welcome children. Economic incentives do not make nurturing mothers and committed fathers. A self-giving, sacrificial mindset is required to rear children properly.

The children that are a product of these economic incentives are bought by the state, and then handed back over to the state at six weeks old. This is so mommy and daddy can work to pay for the state’s heavy, anti-family, tax burden that supports and furthers the government's agenda.

So many on the enlightened left want to dismiss the family as unnecessary to the preservation of civilization. They rally around government funded daycare, claiming that it will assist families and reduce their economic burden. But nationalized daycare is not only directly opposed to the preservation of the family, and ultimately civilization, but it increases the financial burden on a family through taxation. This undermines the ability of young couples to see past the shackles of government provided and subsidized contraceptives.

So many of our modern social conundrums emanate from this "benevolent nanny state".

“Socialists, Communists, and Nihilists...strive to uproot the foundations of civilized society.” Pope Leo XIII

"The main tenet of socialism, namely the community of good, must be rejected without qualification, for it would injure those it pretends to benefit, it would be contrary to the natural rights of man and would introduce confusion and disorder into the commonwealth." Pope Pius XI.

Socialism has blurred the lines of the sexes, and has indeed brought about confusion as to the God-given roles of men and women. As G.K. Chesterton said--the battle of the sexes is over-- women have conceded that the man’s role is better by assuming it. Women have lost their maternal instinct and men have lost their commitment and masculinity. The state buys the child, replaces the Mother, rocks the cradle, and has made the father dispensible through its economic freebies.

A deep and profound change is necessary in the souls of these nations to prevent a demographic crash. Women must abandon the feminist lies and the drudgery of office work over the rearing of their own children. Men must again become men-- committed to their indispensable role. And together they must reject the shackles of socialism and the contraceptive mentality.

This may seem highly unlikely, but nothing is impossible for God. Everything is impossible for Socialism--except the destruction of civilization.

UNLESS THE LORD BUILDS THE HOUSE THERE IS NO HOPE FOR EUROPE
france2

Europe continues down the road of secularization and de-christianization. This from Deutsche Welle: German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said she has "given up hope" of having a reference to Europe's Judeo-Christian heritage enshrined in the new version of the European Union constitution.

Speaking in Brussels on Tuesday at a meeting with religious leaders of the Christian, Jewish and Islamic faiths, Merkel said she "would like to have such a reference in the treaty ... but there are not many chances left."

Merkel, the daughter of a Protestant pastor and the leader of Germany's strongly Catholic CDU party, has been pushing strongly for a reference to Christianity in the new charter. However, any attempt to mention Christianity or God in the treaty has been strictly opposed by secular France, liberal countries such as Sweden and Denmark and by Britain. During the 2004 negotiations on the bloc's original constitution, there were concerns that any religious reference could anger Europe's Muslims and Jews.

Pope Benedict XVI has made it his mission to guard the Christian inheritance that the EU now squanders by deliberate ommission. Cardinal Bertone delivered a message from the Pope at "Together for Europe 2007" --a conference of 250 christian organizations that was held in Stuttgart Germany. Cardinal Bertone stated: 'I would like to mention in a particular way the loss of Europe's Christian memory and heritage, accompanied by a kind of practical agnosticism and religious indifference whereby many Europeans give the impression of living without spiritual roots and somewhat like heirs who have squandered a patrimony entrusted to them by history.'

"All human efforts would amount to nothing, were we to be separated from divine support, because 'unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build'."

HOLINESS & HANDGUNS--THE PATRON SAINT OF HANDGUNNERS & MARKSMANSHIP
1637.0227San Gabriele 5

“Guide our aim to strike at the center. Protect us from the enemies of love, justice and liberty.”

Despite liberals wimpy view of Christ and Christianity, we are called to be soldiers for Christ and defend the innocent against evil. St Gabriel Possenti shows us that holiness is not opposed to bravery, manhood, and even handguns. He came to the defense of a young girl who was being attacked and drove a gang of mercenaries out of town at gunpoint.

To honor his deeds
the St. Gabriel Possenti Society, Inc. was established and each year a person is chosen who lives according to the principles which St Gabriel Possenti exemplified. This year Charl van Wyk of Cape Town, South Africa was chosen for his bravery in fighting off Marxist-Lenninists who attacked a church:

From
News Release Wire: "In July 1993, Charl, relying on his faith and a .38 caliber special revolver, caused a gang of terrorists to flee a church in Cape Town in what became known as the St. James Massacre. The terrorists were part of the Azanian People’s Liberation Army, the military wing of the Pan African Congress, a Marxist-Leninist group.

The terrorists, armed with grenades and AK-47’s, murdered 11 parishioners and wounded an additional 58 individuals. Charl, the only armed member of the congregation, fired five rounds with his handgun. He wounded one of the terrorists and the gang fled. His action apparently prevented the murder or injury of many more people.

The incident led Charl to become an even more ardent defender of the right to self-defense and of the right to keep and bear arms than he already had been. He recounted his experiences in his popular book, Shooting Back – The Right and Duty of Self-Defense, and founded Gun Owners of South Africa."

CHRISTIAN SYMBOLS BANNED
purtiyring

More self loathing of our Christian heritage in the U.K.-- A secondary school in West Sussex has banned purity or chastity rings because they violate a ban on jewelry in school. But the school allows Muslim students to wear headscarves and Sikh students kara bracelets as a means of religious expression. The ban is the latest in a series of episodes where organizations are banning Christian jewellery.

From The Guardian: A Christian teenager will go to the high court this summer to challenge the decision of her school to ban her from wearing a celibacy ring on the grounds that it is her basic human right to express her religious beliefs.

Lydia Playfoot, 16, will argue that the school is being discriminatory because it allows pupils from other faiths to wear religious adornments. Muslim and Sikh pupils at her all-girls secondary school in West Sussex are allowed to wear headscarves, trousers and kara bracelets.

The case of the teenager, who attends Millais school in Horsham, has the support of the Lawyers Christian Fellowship - an organisation that represents 2,000 Christian lawyers from across the UK.

Its public policy officer, Andrea Williams, said today: "This case is about Lydia's freedom of expression of her religious beliefs. It's about equality and about creating a level playing field as Muslim and Sikh pupils are allowed to manifest their faith through religious ornaments and she has been prohibited."

The case is expected to go before the high court before the summer recess.

The case has been in the legal pipeline for two years after Lydia was first banned from wearing the chastity ring, which has an inscription from the Bible, when she was 14.

Her father, Philip Playfoot, a full-time minister at the non-denominational King's church in Horsham, and her mother, Heather, support their daughter's legal challenge.

Today her mother told EducationGuardian.co.uk: "Lydia has been wearing the ring since she was 14 as part of her chastity commitment."

She explained the ring was a symbol of her daughter's Christian belief to remain celibate until marriage and to remain faithful after marriage.

She said: "We have only ever asked of the school that there is a level playing field for children from all faiths and to treat Christians with respect."

The case comes two months after the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) issued fresh school uniform guidelines.

Although the Playfoot case pre-dates this guidance, it was published following the case of a 12-year-old Muslim schoolgirl who took her education authority to the high court after she was refused permission to wear the full veil, or niqab.

The guidance was revised in March after the court upheld the decision of her school and Buckinghamshire county council.

The guidance says that schools "should act reasonably in accommodating religious requirements," under human rights legislation.

But it is also legally possible under the act to have a school uniform policy that "restricts the freedom of pupils to manifest their religion" on the grounds of health and safety and the "protection of the rights and freedoms of others".

The ring is worn as part of an abstinence pledge that schoolchildren take when they sign up to the US-based Christian scheme the Silver Ring Thing, which is aimed at high school students.

POLAND: LIKE AN ISLAND DRIFTING AWAY FROM THE REST OF EUROPE
Roman_Giertych

The courageous leadership in Poland makes me wish I was Polish--but at least my children are. Poland seems to have found the recipe to avoid the Death of the West.

From Worldnet Daily: WARSAW – Nearly 70 years after the invasion of Poland marked the beginning of a major global cataclysm, the Central European nation once again finds itself confronting a foe it sees as a threat to Western civilization.

While the rest of Europe largely accommodates a rising tide of secularism, many Polish leaders are prepared to fight back with a bold, traditional social agenda they envision not only for their own country but for the continent and the world.

Poland's vice premier and minister of education, Roman Giertych told the World Congress of Families here his multi-pronged plan – including a proposal issued last month to ban "homosexual propaganda" in schools – is "something I have to do."

"The family is the hope for Poland, the hope for Europe, the hope for the entire world," the 36-year-old leader told the global gathering of more than 3,200 from 75 nations. "... Without the family, there is no nation, there is no continent, there is no civilization, there is nothing."

As WND reported, the fourth World Congress convened this weekend to address Europe's "demographic winter" of plunging birthrates by promoting the "natural family" as the "springtime of Europe and the world."

In April, members of the European Parliament quickly denounced Giertych's "homosexual propaganda" proposal as "repulsive" and "hateful" and passed a resolution of condemnation 325-124, with 150 abstentions.

It's no wonder then that Polish pro-life activist Eva Kowalewska told the World Congress delegates, "Your presence here gives us strength."

Janina Fetlinksa, a member of the Polish Senate and the Council of Europe, told WND in an interview the European Union doesn't really understand Poland.

"When I hear we are intolerant, homophobic and so forth, I think, my God," she said, pointing to her peoples' long history of living among many nationalities. "The majority of Poles love life, they love family. I think the misunderstanding from this is that we are intolerant moralists. It is not true."

While many Poles don't practice the country's traditional Catholic faith, it's still deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, Fetlinska said.

Our pope, John Paul II, moved our spirits toward God," she explained. "I think this is the reason the value of life is very important to us. It's in our politics, too, because politics are from people."

'The truth is on our side'

Giertych, whose father and grandfather were prominent Polish politicians, says Poland is threatened by "various ideologies … that have nothing to do with the well-being of children, that promote attitudes which are not true to life."

"This world of permissiveness, of certain attitudes which promote homosexuality, which promote pornography, this world is coming to an end, because our civilization is built on virtues, on Roman law … on the Decalogue," said Giertych, according to an English interpretation. "This civilization has great strength for rebirth. The rebirth will take place in the family, not only in Europe, but in the entire world."

Giertych's appointments to his posts in May 2006 were met one day later with a protest in front of the Ministry of Education by about 100 activists. Just a couple of weeks later, more than 140,000 people signed a petition to remove him from office.

At the Congress, Giertych offered encouragement to fellow Poles and to foreigners attacked for their views.

"Please don't let people shut you down," he said. "Please don't be convinced that others who are promoting lies are telling the truth. The truth is on our side."

Giertych said the world needs a breakthrough like the one that took place at the beginning of the 13th century in England with the signing of the Magna Carta. In March, at a meeting of ministers of education in Heidelberg, Germany, he proposed a "Great Charter of Rights of European Nations."

The world will never be free from dangers threatening the family, he said, if there are no rights in place protecting life from the very beginning until natural death.

"Today we need a great charter for the rights of the family and nations that defines the right to life, that would define abortion as murder," Giertych told the World Congress delegates. "Whether three months old or three months before birth, whether 60 or 90 years old, murder is always murder. It is always a crime."

One of the fundamental truths that should be in that charter, he said, is that families are led by a man and a woman.

"Let's never accept mommy and mommy or daddy and daddy," he said. "There is only one truth."

Giertych said the consequences of "alternative" family structures must be frankly communicated, and several World Congress presenters did just that, including Patrick Fagan of the Heritage Foundation, who presented research data in numerous categories showing "the safest place for children is in the natural family."

Another proposal, Giertych said is to restructure a tax and pension system that essentially takes from those who have many children and gives to those who have none.

"This is contrary to equality of law," Giertych said. "A fair system allows the family to regain some of the money they spend on their children, because they are investing in the next generation. This is not symbolic but realistic, lowering the cost of upbringing children."

A further initiative is to prohibit circulation of pornography.

"Pornography is evil; it is an evil that touches the family and threatens the development of young people," the deputy prime minister said. "Its circulation should be treated as a crime, because it ruins what is most virtuous in a human being."

Dangerous proposal

To many European activists such as Robert Biedron, president of the Polish homosexual-rights group Campaign Against Homophobia, such proposals make Poland a pariah. The ban on "homosexual propaganda" is a "dangerous" measure that made him feel "embarrassed" when he heard about it.

"Poland is like an island drifting away from the rest of Europe," Biedron said at the time.

Tomasz Bilicki, who battles the spread of pornography as deputy director of the Center of Family Service in Lodz, Poland, told WND through an interpreter his nation does, indeed, often feel alone.

"It's very often, on the international field, Poland has only one country it can cooperate with – the Vatican," he said. "Sometimes it's Ireland or Spain, but only sometimes. "We are alone, we are the last bastion."

Bilicki gave a presentation in a panel session on pornography that included American scholar Robert Knight of the Media Research Center in Alexandria, Va.

Knight affirmed in an interview with WND that Poland is "nearly alone" as the European Union promotes abortion, homosexuality and pornography "as hard as it can as part of an overall deconstruction of the family."

"You can't blame them for feeling as if they're the lone soldier on the battlefield," he said. "They are inspiring people around the world with their stance."

Knight said Poland's stand against the European Union has been a topic among defenders of the family across the U.S.

"We have taken our courage in what the Poles are doing," he said. "This is a nation that has suffered enormously over many decades. First from Nazism and then communism. They're a tough bunch of people who appear to have the strength to resist especially the homosexual agenda.

"If you've been victim of communists and Nazis, you're not going to run in fright from the forces from San Francisco."

Knight said it was wise for Poland to host the World Congress, because "they know you need allies."

"Even the bravest soldier can't stand alone forever. And they don't need to," he said. "I think the lesson for Americans is that we need more soldiers out on the battlefield."

Knight said observing Poland reminds him of a principle he learned from watching former Republican Sen. Jesse Helms of North Carolina "stand up and be attacked by the left."

"His courage gave others the excuse to move toward his position even if they didn't vocalize it publicly," Knight said. "We need that kind of leadership. … It's far easier to isolate someone and make them out to be a crank or far-right if nobody else is talking the way they are."

Poland, he said, isn't "waiting to see what others are doing, they are taking leadership."

"Others will come to them because they are the rallying point," said Knight. "So our hats have to go off to the Poles."

Wesley Smith, a bioethics expert and senior fellow with Seattle's Discovery Institute, told WND after contributing to an international panel on euthanasia that he, too, has been impressed by the Poles.

"It strikes me that they are willing to stand against the cultural tide, and that takes courage," Smith said. "And if that continues, eventually the tide sometimes can be shifted."

The Polish Senate's Fetlinksa concurred.

"We are idealists," she said, "but only idealists can change the world."

CHRISTIANS ORDERED TO CONVERT TO ISLAM
story.pakistan.christians.a

From Gulf Daily News PESHAWAR: Christians in northwest Pakistan have received threatening letters warning them to shut their churches and convert to Islam, officials said yesterday.

Copies of the handwritten letter were delivered to two churches and several Christians' homes in Charsadda, a northwestern Pakistan town where the federal interior minister last month escaped a suicide attack that killed 28 people.

Christians have alerted police to the letters and security has been stepped up at churches, said police.

Police are investigating who sent the unsigned notes, which gave the Christians 10 days to convert.

The letter did not say what consequences they might face if they did not comply with the ultimatum, which expires May 17.

The threats come amid a spate of reports about how religious extremists are trying to impose Taliban-style social strictures across an expanding swath of Pakistan near the border with Afghanistan.

Other recent examples are bombings of music stores - including two blasts in Charsadda last week - threats to barbers not to shave customers' beards and pressure for the closure of schools for girls.

Iqbal Khan, another local police official, said a small bomb tied to a motorcycle exploded in Charsadda late Wednesday, damaging several CD shops. Authorities had yet to make any arrests over the bombings.

THE CONNECTION BETWEEN PROTESTANTISM AND RELATIVISM
martin-luther-theses

Protestantism has bred the radical secular relativism that we are confronted with today. The breakdown of belief in a central moral authority has ripened into militant relativism. Ultimately the rejection of a central moral and religious authority will bring about the demise of the West and America in particular.

So many today will agree that multiculturalism is a horrid failure but what of pluralism?

America is protestant and was founded upon pluralism. Pluralism
is the notion that all religious belief systems and philosophies are equally valid. For both pluralists and multiculturalists absolute truth does not exist.

This rejection of absolute truth and authority by protestantism has slowly brought about the wholesale rejection of truth and morality by modern man.
As one man became his own pope with the creation of sola scriptura, today the secular man rejects the entire notion of objective truth and creates his own version of reality. The heresy of protestantism has as its ultimate fruit the creation and growth of relativism.

We often hear: "
No one has the right to tell me what is right and wrong." An equivalent statement is said by protestants about authority and hierarchy: "Who is the Pope to tell me what to believe." When these same protestants hear atheists proclaim that there is no right or wrong, or that there is no difference between Christianity and Islam they are appalled. The ideology that rejects a central moral authority is present in both protestantism and atheistic relativism.

"Such, then, is popular protestantism, considered in its opposition to Catholics. Its truth is establishment by law; its philosophy is theory; its faith is prejudice; its facts are fiction; its reasonings falacies; and its security is ignorance about those whom it is opposing. The law says that white is black; ignorance says, why not? Theory says it ought to be; fallacy says it must be; fiction says it is, and prejudice says it shall be." Card. Newman

America was founded upon the erroneous principal that all beliefs, cultures, and religions are equal--relativism is a necessary outgrowth. Only now are we beginning to see the deadliness of this ideology with its battle cry of 'tolerance, tolerance, tolerance'. When there exists homogeneity in a society then the utopian notion of multiculturalism and pluralism "appears" to work properly -- as it does in textbooks. But when Islam crosses the border, and modern atheistic concepts become a religion for a vast portion of the population, then America's days are numbered.

PROMOTING ISLAM IN PRISON
muslims_threaten-holocaust-over-cartoon

Do you recall the story of the Christian prison chaplain who distributed truthful literature about Islam and was fired by a New York jail. Well the story does not end there. Political correctness has overtaken and now an Imam will be hired by the jail for its inmates and religiously sensitive food will also be provided. The extent of political correctness and cultural self loathing knows no limits. Islam's growth in prisons is a very real problem in America, but instead of halting its spread we are promoting its growth, and in turn, creating future terrorists. Here is the story from Fox News:

NEW CITY, N.Y. —  The county jail where a Christian minister handed out anti-Islamic cartoons announced it will hire an imam for its Muslim inmates.
The Rockland County Jail also said it will provide religiously appropriate food.

Rockland Undersheriff Thomas Guthrie said Tuesday that the imam will work one day a week, joining the jail's priest and rabbi.

The Christian chaplain, the Rev. Teresa Darden Clapp, was suspended with pay last month after inmates complained she was passing out anti-Islam booklets.

In the cartoon panel stories, a tract titled "Men of Peace?" said Islamic fundamentalists who commit terrorist acts are not "bad Muslims" but "very good Muslims" who act in accordance with their religion. Another tract, titled "Allah Has No Son," said Allah is not God, Muhammad was no prophet, and the Koran is not the word of God. Both stories end with people being convinced Islam is false. In one, a Muslim converts to Christianity.

Local Muslims have called for Clapp's dismissal, and the county requested an independent investigation.

Clapp has not commented public about the controversy and has not responded to messages seeking comment.

HAVE WE BECOME WHAT WE LOATHE?
128-aryan-child copy

We look with horror on the attempts by Nazi Germany to create a perfect race by "improving" the Aryan gene pool. Recently a rare collection of documents held by the Red Cross, in the small German town of Bad Arolsen revealed the methods that were used to create the Master race. Some 250 "racially desirable" toddlers and young children were seized from Polish homes and adopted out to German families. Another Nazi command decrees: "All Polish orphans need to be checked for their potential for Germanization". The Nazis also ran "birthing homes" where racially acceptable, unwed mothers would bear children for adoption by Nazi families. An estimated 20,000 were born in these homes. From Taipei Times:

"With their neatly bobbed blonde hair and wide blue eyes, Alodia and her sister, Daria, qualified. "They told me that I have nice features -- like German features," Alodia Witaszek recalls today, at 69, sitting in her living room in the Polish city of Poznan, where she was born. "I was a `gift for the Fuehrer' -- that's what they called us," she said.

Now a British clinic will start screening and weeding out embryos for cosmetic defects From Telegraph.co.uk :

Embryos are to be screened for a cosmetic defect for the first time in a British clinic.

Doctors have been given permission to create a baby free from a genetic disorder which would have caused the child to have a severe squint....

Critics have said that the permission is another step on the road to creating only perfect-looking babies in the laboratory.

The licence was granted by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) to Prof Gedis Grudzinskas, who believes the landmark ruling marks a shift away from granting licences only for life-threatening conditions.

He said: "We will increasingly see the use of embryo screening for severe cosmetic conditions."

He added that he would seek to screen for any genetic factor at all that would cause a family severe distress.

When asked if he would screen embryos for factors like hair colour, he said: "If there is a cosmetic aspect to an individual case I would assess it on its merits.

"[Hair colour] can be a cause of bullying which can lead to suicide. With the agreement of the HFEA, I would do it.

"If a parent suffered from asthma, and it was possible to detect the genetic factor for this, I would do it.

"It all depends on the family's distress."...

Until last year screening was restricted to life-threatening conditions such as cystic fibrosis or fatal blood disorders.

Recently doctors have also been able to screen for adult diseases, including some types of cancer and early-onset Alzheimer's.

Dr David King, the director of Human Genetics Alert, said: "Philosophers love to deride the idea of a slippery slope, but here it is in practice.

"We moved from preventing children who will die young to those who might become ill in middle age.

"We now discard those who will live as long as the rest of us but are cosmetically imperfect."

Does the modern world look with horror on this? No, this is seen as progress.

When we exterminate the "defective" in the name of perfection, how are we any different from the Nazis. Our deadened consciences tell us that we are merciful, after all, our children must be spared the distress of wearing glasses, or possessing the wrong hair color, or eyecolor.

If "severe family distress" is the new criteria for exterminating human life then accident victims, hyperactive and difficult children, or even the elderly meet this new subjective criteria.

PRESIDENT OF EVANGELICAL THEOLOGICAL SOCIETY REVERTS TO CATHOLICISM
images

From Spero: Dr. Francis Beckwith, the president of the Evangelical Theological Society, tendered his resignation yesterday as a result of his coming back into communion with the Catholic Church. The potential for a backlash within the Society led him to his decision to resign from his post as president.

According to Beckwith’s blog, “I no longer think that it is possible for ETS to conduct its business and its meetings in a fashion that advances the Gospel of Christ as long as I remain as its president.” “For this reason, effective May 5, 2007, I resign as both President of the Evangelical Theological Society and a member of its executive committee.”

Dr. Beckwith’s journey back to the Church (Beckwith was raised Catholic) was sparked by his reading of some the bishops and theologians of the early Church. “In January, at the suggestion of a dear friend, I began reading the Early Church Fathers as well as some of the more sophisticated works on justification by Catholic authors.  I became convinced that the Early Church is more Catholic than Protestant and that the Catholic view of justification, correctly understood, is biblically and historically defensible.”

Originally, the professor intended to come back into the Church when his term as president ended in November of this coming year. However, because his sixteen year old nephew asked him to be his sponsor for his Confirmation in the Church on May 13th, he reconsidered his earlier resolution.

Beckwith said, “I could not say “no” to my dear nephew, who has credited his renewal of his faith in Christ to our conversations and correspondence. But in order for me to do this I would have to be in full communion with the Church.  So, on Saturday, April 28, 2007, I received the sacrament of Confession.”

Beckwith hopes that his departure will allow the society to enter into a study of the tradition of the Church in a way that would not be possible with him as president.

“There is a conversation in ETS that must take place, a conversation about the relationship between Evangelicalism and what is called the “Great Tradition,” a tradition from which all Christians can trace their spiritual and ecclesiastical paternity.  It is a conversation that I welcome, and it is one in which I hope to be a participant. But my presence as ETS president, I have concluded, diminishes the chances of this conversation occurring.  It would merely exacerbate the disunity among Christians that needs to be remedied.”

The former president also emphasized his gratefulness for ETS and its mission. “ETS’s tenacious defense and practice of Christian orthodoxy is what has sustained and nourished so many of us who have found our way back to the Church of our youth.”

THE COMING GENDERCIDE--TEST SHOWS BABY'S SEX AT SIX WEEKS
_41195564_foetus203

This technology will no doubt push the West into the diabolical realm of sex selection. Any limitation on the right to abort --even for sex selection --will be seen as an infringement on the woman's right to choose. The irony is that a woman's right to choose will ultimately kill women. The death and destruction of feminism has come full circle.

From
The London Paper:

"Women in Britain can now discover the gender of their unborn baby just six weeks into their pregnancy with special DNA testing kits being sold over the internet.

International company DNA Worldwide is selling testing kits allowing parents in the UK to find out the sex of their baby a month and a half after conception, according to its website.

The kit is likely to fuel the controversy about the ethics of abortions as it could allow couples to "play God" and abort children if they are not of the gender they want.

Couples can pay just £189.95 over the internet for the kit, which will then be sent through the post complete with a prepaid return envelope.

It provides everything needed to take a prick of blood from the mother which is returned for testing and the result made available online or by post in a maximum of six business days.

Those willing to pay £239,95 for the "express" version of the service will know the result in just four business days after the kit arrives back at the company's offices.

The company website claims: "Since an ultrasound is not always accurate in determining the gender of a baby, and is most commonly performed four to six months during the pregnancy to determine the gender, the Early Gender Test is the best solution to determining the sex of an unborn child."

The test is claimed to be 99% accurate and couples will get their money back if it wrongly predicts the sex of their child. It is not recommended for women who have had a miscarriage, abortion or blood transfusion.

The kit is thought to have launched first in the US before coming to the UK and the company website carries several testimonials from American women.

The launch of the test comes after a poll revealed that almost a quarter of GPs refuse to sign abortion referral forms and nearly one in five believe it should not be legal."

THE WORLD'S CONFUSION OVER THE RETURN OF THE LATIN MASS
90-672-329

This following article from Slate is entitled "Can the Latin Mass Make a Comeback?". It seems like asking if water or air can make a comeback. It is as if the return to the Tridentine Latin Mass is a mere trend, when in reality all of creation awaits the return of its mystery, reverence and grace.

From
Slate: When word began to spread last year that Pope Benedict XVI might release a document that would allow some changes in the ways Catholic worship on Sunday mornings, the reaction in some quarters approached giddy enthusiasm. "It's coming … it's coming!" wrote one blogger of the imminent release of the papal decree. (As it turned out, its release was not so imminent. Catholics who were waiting are still waiting, though reports now suggest the announcement could come in a few weeks.)

Most Vatican documents, it's probably safe to say, are not designed to provoke such fits of anticipatory glee. So, how to explain the excitement?

The long-rumored document—said to take the form of a motu proprio, a personal initiative of the pope—would allow for broader use of the Tridentine, or, as it's commonly known, Latin Mass, by permitting any priest to celebrate it without first receiving permission from his bishop. The rite was the Catholic standard for nearly 400 years, from its codification in 1570 until the reforms of the 1960s that followed in the wake of the Second Vatican Council ushered in Masses in the local vernacular. The Latin Mass may no longer hold a place at the center of Catholic life, but some Catholics never stopped longing for its return.

Any hopes tradition-minded Catholics might have for a full comeback by the Latin Mass have to be tempered, though—and not just because so many of the reports of Vatican announcements on the subject have proved to be premature. Even if the pope announces his support for more readily available Tridentine Masses, it remains to be seen whether many Catholics would attend the old-school service. The Latin Mass has become so marginalized in recent decades that a service that was once the quintessence of Catholicism must now seem exotic and foreign to many Catholics.

I attended Catholic schools in the '70s, among one of the first waves of Catholics who had never taken part in a Mass in Latin. At the time, our parish, like so many others, seemed gripped by a spirit of progressive reform. We had a youth group, we had relaxed and folksy guitar Masses, we had a hip young priest with long hair and sideburns. All of it—well, maybe not the sideburns—seemed to send the message that the Ancient and Eternal church was now New and Improved. Only occasionally would we hear reports of how things were back in the day. And nothing seemed more mysterious and otherworldly to us than the Latin Mass.

The shift away from services in Latin was just the most visible of the many changes that swept the church in the 1960s. As my liturgically clueless classmates and I were told, before the Second Vatican Council, Masses were celebrated in Latin by a priest who faced the altar, his back to the congregation. After Vatican II, Masses were in the vernacular, and priests faced their flocks. Many of the post-council reforms were meant to encourage the congregation to feel more involved with the ceremony.

After the reforms took hold, the Latin Mass virtually disappeared until 1984, when Pope John Paul II allowed some churches to again offer the Tridentine Mass, as long as the local bishop approved. By the time my generation came of age, the Latin Mass seemed a relic of the old pre-Vatican II church, even if it could still be found in a handful of parishes in many cities. (Catholics in the archdiocese of Washington, D.C., for example, can attend a Tridentine Mass in one of three local parishes each Sunday.) For those of us who grew up with Masses in English, hand-holding congregations, and such jaunty church music as "Lord of the Dance," the Latin Mass was a ritual from another time and place.

But it is precisely that sense of timeless ritual, coupled with the mystery and awe that it can evoke, that helps to account for traditionalists' affection for the old Mass.

Writing in Commonweal in 2000, Bill Shuter called the Tridentine Mass "a solemn rite of extraordinary power" that "may be re-enacted daily, but is no everyday action." Traditionalists prefer the power of Latin to what they see as the banality of the liturgy in English. And many Catholics associate the Latin Mass with the church's glorious heritage of ancient music and solemnity in worship—a heritage some say has been lost in the liturgical changes that have been enacted over the last few decades.

One of the most visible critics of the liturgical changes of the 1960s and afterward was Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, the man who would become Pope Benedict XVI. In his 2000 book, Raztinger wrote of reformed liturgies: "Less and less is God in the picture. … [T]he turning of the priest toward the people has turned the community into a self-enclosed circle. In its outward form, it no longer opens out on what lies ahead and above, but is closed in on itself." Such criticisms led most observers to assume that, as pontiff, he would make encouraging liturgical traditionalism a priority.

But for some progressive Catholics, even a limited comeback for the Latin Mass would spell a disturbing retreat to the inflexible hierarchies and what they see as the anachronistic services of the old pre-Vatican II church.
Though some of the thorniest issues the church has to contend with—the role of women in the church and priestly sexuality, to name just a couple—are not directly related to the liturgy, debates about the ways Catholics worship on Sunday mornings often produce the most heat and the greatest divisions. And coming to terms with changes in the Mass that followed the Second Vatican Council has, for some Catholics, taken decades.

In his book A People Adrift: The Crisis of the Roman Catholic Church in America, Peter Steinfels, who writes the weekly Beliefs column in the New York Times, called the post-council changes in liturgy "a kind of Copernican revolution in Catholic worship. The basic truths—the sun, the stars, Earth and other planets of the faith, were still there, by they were strikingly reconfigured."

Catholics who have attended a Tridentine high Mass, or "sung" Mass, complete with choirs, plainchant, and the attendant "smells and bells" ritual, know it can be a transcendent occasion. But, as Steinfels and others have pointed out, it's all too easy to romanticize the old Latin Mass. Many Catholic churches celebrated the so-called low Mass, with the priest quietly speaking his part at the altar in Latin and the congregation standing by silently—and too often, lifelessly. According to the Catholic News Service, even then-Cardinal Ratzinger acknowledged in public statements that some aspects of the old low Mass left much to be desired.

Certainly, readier access to the Latin Mass would thrill the core of liturgical old-schoolers who have longed for its return. But how many mainstream American Catholics would be interested in attending a Latin Mass? Some of the largest and most passionate Catholic congregations I've seen have been in churches whose services have veered far from the pre-council standard and toward something more resembling an evangelical megachurch service: video screens, pop-influenced worship bands, a breezy informality in the pews.

But ideological debates aside, perhaps the most practical—and unanswered—question is this: For four decades, Latin was largely neglected in the church (and in Catholic schools). How many Catholic priests—many of them, like me, having come of age after the reforms of the 1960s—could muster enough Latin to offer a convincing Tridentine service?

EVANGELICAL CHRISTIANS SEEK FORGIVENESS OF SINS ONLINE
250px-Confession_picture

How tragic it is to lack the fullness of faith and to seek deliverance and release from sin, to no avail. How many of our modern day psychological ailments are due to unconfessed and unforgiven sin? So many in the emotional hype of being "born again", presume upon the mercy of God, without the assurance of forgiveness of sin that can only come from Christ through His Church. Sacramental confession is no mere human tradition or invention, as is online confession, rather it is the merciful creation of Christ which cleanses the sinner and absolves the conscience. Anything less is a cruel abuse of a sincere desire to be loosed from sin.

"The Catholic religion does not compel indiscriminate confession of sins; it allows us to remain hidden from the sight of all other men, save one to whom she bids us reveal the depths of our heart, and show ourselves as we are. There is only this one man in the world, whom she bids us undeceive, and him she binds to inviolable secrecy, so that this knowledge remains with him as if it were not. Can anything be imagined more charitable, more tender. Pascal: Pensees.

From Indian Catholic:

MIAMI (CNA): Evangelical Christians seem to be finding the value of confession. But they’re not lining up for the confessional or for a minister — they’ve headed online.

Confession websites are not new — they’ve been around for at least a few years — but they continue to increase in number and popularity.

People post anything from abortion, lust, pornography, theft, lying and alcohol abuse — the list goes on.

One site, launched by the nondenominational Flamingo Road Church in Cooper City this Easter, is ivescrewedup.com. The 6,500-member church created the site as part of a 10-week series on the ways people make mistakes — in marriage, parenting, finances — and can learn from them.

"I think it helps people understand . . . that we're not here to point out people's screw-ups, that we're here to help them," Pastor Troy Gramling told The Miami Herald. "The church is made of skin and flesh and people that have made mistakes."

A 23-year-old man who posted on the site told The Herald in a telephone interview that posting his sin "was very cathartic." The anonymity of the site is key to its appeal, he said.

Janet Sternberg, associate chairwoman of the Department of Communication and Media Studies at Fordham University in New York, told the newspaper that online confessionals are a natural outgrowth of Internet chat rooms ''where people have this habit of telling secrets to strangers,'' as well as blogs and MySpace pages.

But, so far, more people are reading confessions than posting them.

The Flamingo Road Church gets about 1,000 hits a day, with about 200 online admissions.

The evangelical LifeChurch.tv’s confession website has had more than 6,000 people post confessions but millions more have logged on to read the stories, said pastor Bobby Gruenewald.

The pastor told The Herald that the church has received some criticism from people who think that "we're trying to encourage people to confess to a computer instead of God."

"We just believe it is a catalyst to have people open up to family and friends and God. I think sometimes it can be misunderstood," he was quoted as saying. A recent redesign of the website gives readers the possibility to post prayers or responses to confessions.

Greg Fox, who created the site dailyconfession.com in 2000, says the websites, with their voyeuristic appeal, may fulfill people's need to feel better about their own behavior or moral values. His site averages about 1.3 million hits a day.

"What makes it so popular is not so much the people confessing but people going to read all these things, saying, ‘My life's not so bad,’" he told The Herald.

People have written on the site about abusive relationships and contemplating suicide. Fox said he has tried to direct these people to get help. Others have threatened the president, prompting Fox to call the U.S. Secret Service.

He reviews all of the submissions before posting them, and has a backlog of about 4,000. Fox said the confessions are completely anonymous and that he has no way of tracing them.

The Catholic Church rejects the idea of online confessions. Confession is ''the opportunity to confess sins to someone ordained as a priest who is a representative of Christ," Mary Ross Agosta of the Miami Archdiocese told the newspaper.

FORMER GOVERNOR MCGREEVEY PURSUES EPISCOPAL PRIESTHOOD
mcgreevey_campbell

Shall we label this a convenient conversion? From the Washington Times:

Former New Jersey Gov. James E. McGreevey, who resigned and divorced his second wife after announcing he was "a gay American" in 2004, has begun the process of becoming an Episcopal priest.

Mr. McGreevey, who was raised Roman Catholic and often described himself as devout during his political campaigns, became an Episcopalian on Sunday at St. Bartholomew's Church in Manhattan, said the Rev. Kevin Bean, the church's vicar. Mr. Bean told the Star-Ledger of Newark, N.J., that Mr. McGreevey has entered the "discernment" phase, which involves examining whether one has a calling to the ministry and usually precedes seminary work.

"This process that he's in right now is not going to be some snap of the finger, overnight process. That will not happen. That's not how it works," Mr. Bean told the paper. "Everyone knows that this is a process that ... intentionally is deliberate."

Bruce Parker, a spokesman for the Episcopal Church's General Theological Seminary, said yesterday that Mr. McGreevey also has been accepted to the New York school's master of divinity program and will start his studies in the fall.

Mr. McGreevey declined to comment yesterday, but close friends of the ex-governor told the Star-Ledger they were not surprised.

"This is something he's been thinking about for years," said David France, who last year co-authored Mr. McGreevey's memoir, "The Confession."

"His spiritual life has always been central to who he is. From the time he was a kid, he thought about going into Catholic seminary a number of times. The idea of going into the Episcopal seminary has been in his mind for at least a couple of years," he said.

Growing up in Middlesex County as an Irish Catholic, Mr. McGreevey was an altar boy and attended Catholic schools. In his appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" last year, Mr. McGreevey recounted going to the library to look up the word "homosexual" in a dictionary. When he read terms such as "perverse" and "psychiatric disorder," he said, he didn't want to be that and learned to repress the desires.

While in office, his pro-choice stance on abortion and unannulled first marriage put him at odds with the Catholic Church to the point that one New Jersey bishop warned him not to take Communion. Soon after his resignation, Mr. McGreevey began attending Episcopal services.

The issue of homosexual clergy is tearing apart the worldwide Anglican Communion, which includes the Episcopal Church that Mr. McGreevey joined. Anglican leaders this year demanded that the U.S. denomination cease consecrating homosexual bishops and allowing blessings of same-sex unions or risk losing its membership in the body.

Religion also has become an issue in Mr. McGreevey's contentious divorce proceedings. His estranged second wife, Dina Matos McGreevey, has demanded that their 5-year-old daughter continue to be raised Catholic, which among other things would mean she cannot receive Communion in the Episcopal Church.

In papers filed in their divorce case, Mrs. Matos McGreevey, who has written a book of her own rebutting Mr. McGreevey's and appeared this week on "Oprah," accuses her ex-husband of having a life-sized picture of a nude male model in the home he shares with boyfriend Mark O'Donnell. She also accuses him of having their daughter Jacqueline in bed with him and Mr. O'Donnell, and of starting his governorship-ending affair with an Israeli aide while she was bedridden carrying Jacqueline to term.

BIRTH CONTROL POLLUTING THE SOUL --AND THE ENVIRONMENT?
Hornyhead_turbot_CU

Millions of women in the United States ingest excess estrogen every day in the form of birth control pills. Within 24 hours, the effluent from those 12 million doses ends up in our sewage systems. And then?

The April 17 Scientific American reported results of a study warning that “many streams, rivers and lakes already bear warning signs that the fish caught within them may also be carrying enough chemicals that mimic the female hormone estrogen to cause breast cancer cells to grow.”

“Fish are really a sentinel, just like canaries in the coal mine 100 years ago,” says Conrad Volz, co-director of exposure assessment at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute's Center for Environmental Ecology. “We need to pay attention to chemicals that are estrogenic in nature, because they find their way back into the water we all use.”

According to the Freshwater Institute’s Fisheries and Oceans section, “The potent synthetic estrogens excreted by women taking hormone replacement therapy or birth control pills are not completely broken down in the sewage treatment process and are discharged into waterways.”

While cautioning that the exact process of hormonal confusion is not yet clear, the Scientific American article continued, “But the [estrogenic] effects on the fish themselves were clear: the gender of nine of the fish [tested] could not be determined.”

“Increased estrogenic active substances in the water are changing males so that they are indistinguishable from females,” Volz found. “There are eggs in male gonads as well as males are secreting a yolk sac protein. Males aren't supposed to be making egg stuff.”

"CATHOLICISM ALONE" - THE LAST BEST HOPE TO COUNTER THE CULTURE OF DEATH AND PREVENT THE DEATH OF THE WEST
Contrary to Mark Steyn’s America Alone, the last best hope for the survival of the West is not America, rather the world’s only hope lies in the return to the Catholic faith.   The Catholic Church is the only church that condemns the sins that have led to the demographic crisis that faces the West.  Thus it is “Catholicism Alone” that is the last best hope for America and the West.

America Alone by Mark Steyn is an excellent book that warns of the demise of the West due to a “self-extinction” by the Western world which fails to have children while it “outsources its breeding” to Islam.  Since Europe is fast becoming Eurabia, Mark Steyn concludes that America --if it has the “will” is destined to be the lone defender against Islam.

“But America can survive, prosper and defend its freedom only if it continues to believe in itself, in the sturdier virtues of self-reliance (not governement), in the centrality of family, and in the conviction that our country really is the world’s last best hope.”  America Alone

No amount of self confidence or self-reliance in our nation or our people will prevent the the death of the West.  The West’s potential demise is not about a lack of self confidence-- it is about sin.  Sin’s cancer not only effects individual man but as the West’s demographics crisis reveals, it is the destroyer of peoples and nations.  We are simply facing the manifestation of sin in the West.

Europe’s transformation into Eurabia does indeed involve a lack of  “will” but the lack of “will” is due to it’s love of the sins that sterilize and kill the West’s progeny.  More than three quarters of women of childbearing age are using artificial contraceptives.

The West has become accustomed to a selfish, hedonistic lifestyle that includes every form of fruitless, promiscuous, sexual satisfaction.  This lifestyle demands a rigorous fidelity to contraception and if the contraception fails --abortion.   These sins are mortally wounding to not only the men and women of the West but also threaten to  annihilate nations and peoples.    Our enemies need not invade --our enemy is within.  We have lost our natural inclination to preserve the species through the suppression of our own God given fertility.  God has permitted us our longings-- sterility.

There was a time when all of Christianity understood and condemned the evils of contraception.  Historically all of the founders of protestantism condemned any act that prevented conception as a deadly sin and even likened it to sodomy:

Martin Luther
"[T]he exceedingly foul deed of Onan*, the basest of wretches . . . is a most disgraceful sin. It is far more atrocious than incest and adultery. We call it unchastity, yes, a sodomitic sin. For Onan goes in to her—that is, he lies with her and copulates—and, when it comes to the point of insemination, spills the semen, lest the woman conceive. Surely at such a time the order of nature established by God in procreation should be followed. Accordingly, it was a most disgraceful crime. . . . Consequently, he deserved to be killed by God. He committed an evil deed. Therefore, God punished him"

John Calvin
"The voluntary spilling of semen outside of intercourse between man and woman is a monstrous thing. Deliberately to withdraw from coitus in order that semen may fall on the ground is doubly monstrous. For this is to extinguish the hope of the race and to kill before he is born the hoped-for offspring."

John Wesley
"Onan*, though he consented to marry the widow, yet to the great abuse of his own body, of the wife he had married, and the memory of the brother that was gone, refused to raise of seed to his brother. Those sins that dishonor the body and defile it are very displeasing to God and evidences of vile affections. Observe, the thing which he did displeased the Lord—and it is to be feared; thousands, especially of single persons, by this very thing, still displease the Lord and destroy their own souls."
*The story of Onan can be found at Genesis 38:8-10.

Protestants succumbed to the overpowering culture of death at the 1930 Lambeth Conference when Anglicans became the first denomination to officially permit the usage of artificial contraception.  Other denominations quickly followed.   Today no Protestant church condemns its use.  As it stands today the Catholic Church is the last holdout against the culture of death and all the sins that have led us down the road to demographic annihilation.

In the face of statistics and voluminous evidence of a demographic crash why does there remain such a disconnect by the world at large and more importantly among those who call themselves Christians on birth control?  Why doesn’t the potential eradication of Western culture awaken us to the natural order or 'lex naturalis' that needs to be respected?

The Pope recently stated:
“There is an urgent need to reflect upon the question of natural law and to rediscover its truth,” which “is common to all mankind...life is not the property of man but a gratuitous gift of God.”

“Natural law, is the source from which, along with fundamental rights, flow ethical imperatives that must be honored.  Indeed, no law made by man can overturn the norms written by the Creator, without inflicting a dramatic injury to society in what constitutes its most basic foundation.”

Dramatic injury has indeed occurred as was predicted by Pope Paul VI in Humane Vitae in 1968:

1.  The widespread use of contraception would "lead to conjugal infidelity and the general lowering of morality."

2.  Man would ultimately lose "respect for the woman," and "no longer car[e] for her physical and psychological equilibrium".  Man would come to consider women as an "instrument of selfish enjoyment, and no longer as his respected and beloved companion."

3.  Widespread acceptance of contraception would place a "dangerous weapon... in the hands of those public authorities who take no heed of moral exigencies."

4.  It would lead men and women to think that they had limitless dominion over their own bodies and functions.

All the above has come about.  Divorce, serial monogamy,  promiscuity, pornography and cohabitation are rampant.  Women and motherhood have been demeaned beyond recognition--while women have deluded themselves that they are liberated.   Our children have even become sex objects for the insatiable through an ever increasing appetite for child pornography.  Western nations are now forced to pay women to have babies or face extinction.  Others legislate the number of children its citizens can bear and force abortion and sterilization.  Children are now seen as a burden, an expense and an inconvenience in the West.   Venture out today with any more than a couple of  kids in tow and the negative comments fly: “those are expensive”, “are those all yours”  “are you done yet”  or “don’t you know how that happens?”

Catholicism is indeed alone, not only in its battle against contraceptives and the culture of death but also in its literal belief in Jesus words that we are to eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of God.

“I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever." I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.” John 6:53-58

The fact that that the Catholic Church is the only remaining church that both condemns contraceptives as a mortal sin and actually possesses Jesus Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in the Eucharist is a testament to the divine origin of the Catholic Church.

It is precisely because of the Eucharist that the Catholic Church “remains in Him” as no other church can.  The Eucharist and the courage to do battle against the culture of death cannot be separated from each other.  It is not a  coincidence that the two coexist only in the Catholic Church!

Thus without a return to the Faith this is the end of the world as we have known it.   Catholicism alone condemns the evils that threaten the extinction of the Western world and does so through the power of the Eucharistic.
