Lately I have become increasingly disappointed in our culture and where we are headed. The radical homosexual agenda has so effectively spread its message, and continues to do so at an alarming rate, not only among adults, but more importantly among our children. Man is no longer concerned with "sin" which offends God instead he is concerned with offending his fellow man's feelings about himself.
A culture that immerses itself in the pursuit of mortal sin cannot grasp the things of God. We have become a culture that is impervious to God's grace. The depth of the blindness and disregard to spiritual realities is unsurpassed historically and unsurpassed in depravity. Satan knows that the corruption of youth is the key to the future, and apparently so do his cohorts. This world is his dominion and he seals his citizens with a deadly mark on the soul. No wonder souls are said to be falling like snowflakes into hell.
These are a must watch couple of videos--click here. We cannot turn a blind eye to the methods used to corrupt our youth--no matter how disturbing. We must expose the darkness so that we can effectively do battle for souls.
But amidst the darkness of our wholehearted acceptance of homosexuality as equal to heterosexuality, is a nation that seems to be hanging on by a thread to the truths of God and His church. It is a nation that is clearly like a lamb in the midst of wolves. From Guardian Unlimited:
Not in society's interests to have more gay people, says Polish PM
Poland's prime minister, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, rejected EU criticism of a ban on "homosexual propaganda" in schools yesterday, saying that it was not in society's interests to increase the number of gay people.
Mr Kaczynski dismissed suggestions that homosexual people faced discrimination in Poland, in a blunt response to an EU parliament vote earlier in the day in which MEPs called for a fact-finding mission to the country to investigate recent anti-gay comments by senior officials.
"Nobody is limiting gay rights in Poland," said Mr Kaczynski, leader of the Law and Justice party, which stresses Roman Catholic Values and governs with the small League of Polish Families, which is militantly anti-abortion and anti-gay rights.
"However, if we're talking about not having homosexual propaganda in Polish schools, I fully agree with those who feel this way. Such propaganda should not be in schools; it definitely doesn't serve youth well. It's not in the interests of any society to increase the number of homosexuals, that's obvious."
In Strasbourg the European parliament issued a resolution calling for more robust action from Polish leaders. "The European parliament ... calls on the ... Polish authorities publicly to condemn and take measures against declarations by public leaders inciting discrimination and hatred based on sexual orientation," said the resolution, which was sponsored by socialists, liberals and greens but largely opposed by conservatives.
Last month Poland's deputy education minister, Miroslaw Orzechowski, said that teachers deemed to be promoting "homosexual culture" in Polish schools would be fired, and the government has drafted corresponding legislation.
This year the education minister, Roman Giertych, the leader of the League of Polish Families, said "one must limit homosexual propaganda so that children won't have an improper view of family".
Mr Kaczynski had previously distanced himself from the comments. His twin brother, President Lech Kaczynski, has drawn criticism from human rights groups after he banned a gay parade when he was mayor of Warsaw.
Here is secular analysis of the Pope and his mission to restore Latin to its proper place in the Church, from Expatica:
"Pope Benedict XVI may have raised a few eyebrows with his red Prada shoes and Father Christmas-like "camauro" hat but the German-born pontiff is no revolutionary on Catholic Church matters.
No one was surprised then when the German-born Pope Benedict XVI issued strict rules on how to celebrate Mass and reaffirmed the importance of the celibacy rule for priests this month.
However, there was one minor aspect of this apostolic exhortation, Sacramentum Caritatis (Sacrament of Charity), that will likely make waves: His decision to encourage the use of Latin in Church.
"I ask that future priests, from their time in the seminary, receive the preparation needed to understand and to celebrate Mass in Latin, and also to use Latin texts and execute Gregorian chant," the pope wrote in his message to clergymen and ordinary Catholics.
The traditional Tridentine Mass in Latin was replaced with updated liturgies in local languages by the Second Vatican Council of 1965. That decision contributed to a schism within the Church led by Marcel Lefebvre, an ultra-conservative French archbishop who was later excommunicated by the late Pope John Paul II.
Since then, congregations wishing to celebrate Mass in Latin are forced to seek permission from Rome or from their local bishops.
The language of Cicero
In his apostolic exhortation, published last month, Benedict made it clear that he was endorsing a proposal made by a 2005 Synod of Bishops and that it was in line with directives issued by the Second Vatican Council.
He also noted that he was thinking primarily of international gatherings, where the language of Cicero would be used as a sort of lingua franca (universal language) and help "express more clearly the unity and universality of the Church".
"The papal document is a step towards more dignity during the divine service and Latin can play a role in this," a Vatican Radio journalist, who asked not to be named, told dpa.
"I really see the pope's words as a guideline only, not as a directive," he added.
So exalted
More than a few Catholics and churchgoers, especially in southern Europe, admit that the old rite in good old Latin had been so "much more solemn, much more exalted."
After all, they argue, "Hic est enim calix sanguinis mei" sounds so much nicer than "This is the chalice of my blood" while "pater noster, qui es in caelis" has a much better ring to it than "our father, who art in heaven."
According to a recent report in the Sunday Times, Benedict, who is fluent in Latin and openly criticised the decision to drop Latin when he was still a cardinal, plans to bring back the old Tridentine Mass despite opposition from some senior cardinals.
Vatican sources quoted by the British paper said the pope was considering publication of a papal "motu proprio" (of his own initiative) on the matter. This would do away with the need for approval from Church bodies.
Latin lovers
Meanwhile, the Vatican's "Latin lovers" have hailed the document, which experts see as a first step towards a possible "counterrevolution."
A return to Latin would please traditionalists, such as adherents to the Lefebvre movement, as well as Latin experts inside the Vatican, who have been bemoaning the decline of the classical language for years.
"Who can still speak Latin nowadays?" complained Father Reginald Foster, an American priest known as the "Pope's Latinist," in an interview published a few years ago.
"The priests don't know it any more, and not even the bishops do - it's terrible. Some can't even read the inscriptions on gravestones. It's a scandal," he said.
This is such a wonderful study. I think I will cite to it next time I hear the oft repeated objection that homeschooled children are not socialized.
"Kids with religious parents are better behaved and adjusted than other children, according to a new study that is the first to look at the effects of religion on young child development."
"The conflict that arises when parents regularly argue over their faith at home, however, has the opposite effect.
"John Bartkowski, a Mississippi State University sociologist and his colleagues asked the parents and teachers of more than 16,000 kids, most of them first-graders, to rate how much self control they believed the kids had, how often they exhibited poor or unhappy behavior and how well they respected and worked with their peers.
"The researchers compared these scores to how frequently the children’s parents said they attended worship services, talked about religion with their child and argued abut religion in the home.
"The kids whose parents regularly attended religious services—especially when both parents did so frequently—and talked with their kids about religion were rated by both parents and teachers as having better self-control, social skills and approaches to learning than kids with non-religious parents.
"But when parents argued frequently about religion, the children were more likely to have problems. “Religion can hurt if faith is a source of conflict or tension in the family,” Bartkowski noted.
"Why so good?
"Bartkowski thinks religion can be good for kids for three reasons. First, religious networks provide social support to parents, he said, and this can improve their parenting skills. Children who are brought into such networks and hear parental messages reinforced by other adults may also “take more to heart the messages that they get in the home,” he said.
"Secondly, the types of values and norms that circulate in religious congregations tend to be self-sacrificing and pro-family, Bartkowski told LiveScience. These “could be very, very important in shaping how parents relate to their kids, and then how children develop in response,” he said.
"Finally, religious organizations imbue parenting with sacred meaning and significance, he said.
"University of Virginia sociologist W. Bradford Wilcox, who was not involved in the study, agrees. At least for the most religious parents, “getting their kids into heaven is more important than getting their kids into Harvard,” Wilcox said."
Here is an interview with Bat Ye'or, an expert on dhimmitude--the institutionalized discrimination and harassment of non-Muslims under Islamic law. She is the author of eight books, including Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis (2005). From Frontpage:
"FP: What has changed since the publication of Eurabia: the Euro-Arab Axis in America (January 2005)?
"Bat Ye'or: The situation has aggravated on every front. At the beginning of the war in Iraq, (in Spring 2003) there was some hope that a democratic government would take over and would bring justice and peace to its people. But the elimination of tyranny, thanks to the Coalition forces, only brought to the fore the worst evil and inhuman forces that consume Arab-Muslim societies. The war in Iraq exposed American's shortcomings, Western divisions and unreadiness to confront global jihad. The chaotic situation there and the nuclearisation of Iran have fortified the Islamists.
"Moreover, the lamentable response of the Olmert government against Hizbollah in Lebanon and the electoral triumph of Hamas in Gaza, comfort the impression in the Arab and Muslim world of an Israeli and a Western debacle. Britain was humbled and did not react firmly to the kidnapping of fifteen of its sailors by Iran. Instead, British journalists and academia turned with violent hatred against Israel to appease Muslim governments and particularly the Palestinians who had abducted for ransom a BBC journalist. Such behaviour is typical of dhimmitude: the Christian dhimmi being too afraid to attack his Muslim oppressor directs his impotent frustration against a weaker and innocent dhimmi victim, the Jew. Those triangular relationships are constant in the social and political fabric of dhimmitude for more than a millennium and till today.
"The hatred of America, the anti-Semitic culture, the cynic inversion of true, the support given to, and the siding with killers and abductors, express a humiliating feeling of impotency. Britain has become the barking dog of its protectors: both Islamists and Palestinians. This situation is not limited to Great-Britain, but maybe because it was one of the proudest and most powerful countries in Europe, one of the three major victors of World War II, that this wilful decline and abasement are so traumatic. Some Europeans, of course, oppose such policies but the EU directives tend to paralyse democratic rights within a web of totalitarian control of culture, media, and universities.
"Moreover, on the other side of the Atlantic, the Latino-Arab alliance encouraged by the Andalusian Zapatero isolates America even more. The tactic to divide the West in order to weaken it, is succeeding.
FP:
You have introduced a new concept: "Palestinianism."
What does it mean exactly?
Bat
Ye'or:
I think that it is, precisely, "Palestinianism" which
is at the root of Europe's decadence. It is an
ideology based on a replacement theology whereby
Palestine replaces Israel. As it has been conceived
and instigated together by European and Arab
intellectuals and politicians, it combines the worst
of both cultures. For the Arab and Muslim
world,
Palestinianism
embodies the ideology and aims of jihad against a
rebellious dhimmi people. It is therefore based on a
Muslim culture and theology that deny territorial
independence and sovereignty to any non-Muslim
people.
Palestinianism opposes Israel on two main points: 1)
Jews being a dhimmi people cannot rule Muslims ¨C
even less liberate and govern their country,
especially if it has been formerly conquered and
colonized by jihad -- such as Israel, Spain, the
Balkans, Hungary and parts of Europe. Jews must be
brought under the yoke of Islam. And this, of course,
applies to Christians as well; both must be reduced
to submission and dhimmitude. 2) Muslim doctrine
rejects the Bible, it does not accept that it is the
history of the people of Israel and the source of
Christianity. Muslims believe that the biblical
narrative, as it is transcribed in the Koran, is the
story of the Muslim people and of Muslim prophets.
For this reason, they deny the historical patrimony
and ancestry of Jews and Christians in the Holy Land.
For them, both Testaments have an Islamic source and
describe an Islamic history since the people in the
Bible and Jesus himself (Isa) were Muslims. Judaism
and Christianity are seen as falsification of Islam.
This is the inner core of the ideology -- even a
doctrine -- of Palestinianism and of its war against
Israel.
The European trend has added to it traditional
Christian antisemitism which condemns the Jews to
perpetual exile till they convert. The Palestinian
war against Israel, strongly encouraged by many in
Europe, came as a magnificent opportunity to continue
and maintain the culture of hate and denigration
against the Jews -- now the state of Israel -- and by
lending a moral and political support to a second
Holocaust. Europe has been the biggest supporter and
subsidizer for the Palestinians as well as their
ideological teachers.
FP:
Europe has been Palestinianized hasn't it? What have
the consequences been to Europe?
Bat
Ye'or:
The consequences for Europe are manifold, profound
and it seems irreversible. Palestinianism has been
the most effective tool to divide, weaken and destroy
the West. But this process could only happen because
an institutional apparatus, the European Community
(EC) -- which in 1993 became the European Union --
could impose Palestinianism over all its
member-states as a common foreign policy.
While in the Arab and Muslim world Palestinianism was
the jihadist tool to eradicate the independence and
freedom of the Jewish dhimmi people, in Europe it
assumes another signification. The EC unofficial
support for the Arab League jihad to destroy Israel
restores a culture of hate that is self-destructive
for Europe itself. Whatever Europeans may believe
today, their whole spiritual and humanistic culture
come from the biblical prophets, from the liberation
of the Hebrews from slavery, and the promotion of
human equality and dignity, from the salvific virtue
of humility, self-criticism and the asking of
forgiveness, from the praise of peace and the
separation of religion from the state, and so on¡and
on. All Christian feasts are Christianized Jewish
feasts; Jewish holy books are Christian holy books.
Joining the jihadist camp involves the suppression of
those links that structure and support Christianity,
thereby weakening it, and leaving it ready to fall
apart. And hate destroys its bearer more than its
victim. It means to adhere to the jihadist ideology
that seeks to impose a totalitarian Islamic rule over
the world, a view that does not conceive of human
plurality in equality, or accept criticism, or
freedom of expression and opinion. It means that
Christianity as much as Judaism, as religions and
civilizations, are denied and deserve to be
destroyed.
Palestinianism endeavors to suppress the links
between Christianity and Judaism because it professes
that Christianity was born from Islam, from a Jesus
who was a Muslim prophet -- the Koranic Isa -- and
very different from the Jewish Jesus described by the
four evangelists -- themselves nurtured by the First
Testament and not the Koran. In Europe, the
theological replacement of Judaism triggered by
Palestinianism, affects also politics. Except for
derogatory comments, the media avoids mentioning
Israel as if already it didn't exist, thus
suppressing it by a silent boycott. Another European
trend consists in imposing a strict historical
similarity and equivalence between Israel and the
Arabs and Palestinians, whereas there are none.
Since Palestinianism is now the foremost ideology of
Europe, it has determined European support for
jihadist tactics. And jihad is not like any war, it
represents a whole theological war corpus, with its
holy strategy and ritual tactics. Europe justified
the PLO aim to destroy Israel from the 1970s, its
abductions and killings of civilians, its air piracy,
kidnapping and terrorism, blaming the victims instead
of the perpetrators. In order to justify these crimes
that are so contrary to humanist values and moral,
Europe had to demonize Israel, to paint it as the
biggest enemy of peace and has therefore rejuvenated
its passionate love to hate Israel, vilifying it with
its own crimes.
That's not all. Most Europeans do not agree with such
policy. Many denounced it and fought against it.
Hence through a coordinate campaign monitored by the
networks of the European Union bodies, a system
linking politics to markets, culture, universities,
media and opinion makers, has spread its totalitarian
grip over the member-states in order to impose a
despicable culture of lies and denial that support
Europe's pro-Palestinian foreign policy.
FP:
This is all very depressing Bat Ye'or. Is there any
hope in the West's confrontation with militant Islam?
Is Europe lost for sure? What should those of us in
the free world do? What can we do?
Bat
Ye'or:
The only hope
for the West lies in its perception of the global
jihad's aim and dangers. This is not a military war
only, it is even more a spiritual, intellectual and
political debate. But the European Union is taking
the opposite direction by even imposing a
lexicon
that will censure from debate the word "jihad" and
its existence in history. The cowardly European
position discourages courageous Muslims who struggle
for a democratization and modernization of Islamic
thought and societies. Europeans are so well
conditioned by Palestinianism to hate America and
Israel that they are not only in denial but
anesthetized.
What we can do? First, in Europe and America
reclaiming our universities which have become
bastions of 'Saidism'. Rooted in Palestinianism, this
school named after the Egyptian Christian Edward
Said, replaced Orientalist scholarship with ignorance
and hate indoctrination against the West and Israel.
We must also put the discussion of ideas in the open
and bring it to the public without censorship,
boycott and threats. It is the only way to prevent a
racism based on frustration and impotency. But --
above all -- Europeans must decide on their values,
their future, and fight for their democratic
institutions and against the subversion of their
culture. They must recover the control of their own
security rather than beg for the protection of
jihadists and be ransomed.
The International Herald Tribune has declared that traditional marriage is now out of style based upon the French presidential contenders' trend- setting rejection of it. Does what follows prove that traditional marriage is out of style or that Western civilization is in steep decline?
"Presidential candidate Segolene Royal is not married, and if she wins, her romantic partner plans to scorn the trappings of life as France's "first gentleman;" he swears he will not even live in the official Elysee Palace.
"Conservative contender Nicolas Sarkozy's marriage has been tabloid fodder. It was love at first sight when he fell for his second wife — at her wedding to someone else. During Sarkozy's run for the presidency, she left him for a while, and paparazzi photographed her hand-in-hand with another man...."
"Sarkozy, 52, jogs. Royal, 53, was photographed at the beach in a turquoise bikini.
"In an image-conscious race, both have modern relationships that many voters can relate to. Cecilia Sarkozy and Royal's partner, Socialist Party boss Francois Hollande, have made clear they will not give up their dreams and happiness for the presidency, said Christine Clerc, author of a book about presidential couples, "Tigres et tigresses" (Tigers and Tigresses).
"Sacrifice is no longer in style," Clerc says...
Asked in November if he wanted the title "first gentleman," Hollande said being the Socialist leader was enough for him. He also said he would not live in the presidential palace, whether or not Royal decides to. It is unclear what their four children, born from 1984 to 1992, would decide.
Royal says they did not need marriage to prove their love — a common sentiment in today's France, where nearly half of babies are born out of wedlock.
Sarkozy's relationship with his wife got off to an inauspicious start. He fell for Cecilia Ciganer Albeniz when, as the mayor of a Paris suburb, he officiated at her 1984 wedding to Jacques Martin, a TV personality, according to Catherine Nay's Sarkozy biography, "Un Pouvoir nomme desir" (A Power Named Desire).
Sarkozy was married to his first wife, Marie, at the time; the bride was pregnant with her new husband's baby. Sarkozy, smitten anyway, made sure the couples became friends.
But the friendship dissolved during a ski trip four years later, as Nay recounts. Nicolas Sarkozy's first wife, looking for her husband, purportedly found his telltale footprints in the snow — below Cecilia's window.
Nicolas and Cecilia divorced their respective spouses and married each other, having a son together in addition to children from other marriages. For several years she worked in her husband's ministries and helped organize his party rallies, a job that put her in contact with French events organizer Richard Attias.
The story of the Sarkozys' rocky marriage broke in 2005, when glamorous Mrs. Sarkozy appeared on the cover of Paris Match magazine in photos showing her strolling with Attias in Manhattan. The press chronicled the Sarkozys' separation in detail — including Mr. Sarkozy's association with a political journalist while his wife was away.
In his book, "Temoignage" (Testimony), Sarkozy said the separation was the hardest trial of his life. The saga was a sign of politicians' growing frankness about their personal lives — and voters' curiosity about them — in a country where the existence of late President Francois Mitterrand's mistress and illegitimate daughter was a secret throughout his presidency.
Since Cecilia Sarkozy's unexplained return, she has stayed behind the scenes, while rumors have swirled on the Internet about another separation. Many wondered if Nicolas Sarkozy would enter the Elysee as a single man.
St. John Chrysostom said "There is nothing worse than blasphemy". The truth of his statement is evident in the following story.
From Indystar.com: "Two local billboards that are part of a broad ad campaign aimed at showing Biblical support for homosexuality were hit over the weekend by spray-paint-wielding vandals
"Starting last week, the national gay advocacy group Faith in America leased space on 22 billboards around Indianapolis to spread messages like “Jesus affirmed a gay couple” and “Jesus said some people are born gay.” It corresponds with 1,000 yard signs carrying similar messages that were sponsored by the Jesus Metropolitan Community Church, an Indianapolis church that teaches God’s acceptance of homosexuality.
"Rev. Jeff Miner, the church’s pastor, said the two billboards were defaced over the weekend.
"A billboard on Kentucky Avenue carried the original message “The early church welcomed a gay man” but had the word “man” sprayed with black paint, Miner said. It has been repaired. Another at 10th Street and Mitthoeffer Road had the words “Lie, lie, lie” spray painted in red over the original message “Jesus affirmed a gay couple.”
“I think it shows the lengths some people will go to suppress ideas rather than have a dialogue,” Miner said.
"Several church leaders in the city say the ad campaign is built on false statements and distorted readings of scripture. But Rev. Andy Hunt of Body of Christ Community Church said vandalism is always a wrong response.
“It ignites passions whenever someone brings a lie against the god you worship,” Hunt said. “But we can’t go down to their level.”

VATICAN CITY: The Vatican's second-highest ranking doctrinal official has forcefully branded homosexual marriage an evil and denounced abortion and euthanasia as forms of "terrorism with a human face".
The attack by Archbishop Angelo Amato, secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, was the latest in a string of speeches made by either Pope Benedict or other Vatican officials as Italy considers giving more rights to gays.
In an address to chaplains, Amato said newspapers and television bulletins often seemed like "a perverse film about evil".
He denounced "evils that remain almost invisible" because the media presented them as "expression of human progress".
He listed these as abortion clinics, which he called "slaughterhouses of human beings", euthanasia, and "parliaments of so-called civilised nations where laws contrary to the nature of the human being are being promulgated, such as the approval of marriage between people of the same sex ..."
Amato spoke at a time when the Vatican and Italy's powerful Roman Catholic Church are at loggerheads over plans for a highly controversial law that would give unmarried heterosexual and homosexual couples some form of legal recognition.
The Church and Catholic politicians, even some in Prime Minister Romano Prodi's centre-left coalition, see the proposed law as a Trojan Horse and say it could lead to gay marriages.
Amato, who is said to be very close to Pope Benedict, criticised the media's coverage of ethical issues.
After denouncing "abominable terrorism" such as that carried out by suicide bombers, he condemned what he called "terrorism with a human face", and accused the media of manipulating language "to hide the tragic reality of the facts".
"For example, abortion is called 'voluntary interruption of pregnancy' and not the killing of a defenceless human being, an abortion clinic is given a harmless, even attractive, name: 'centre for reproductive health' and euthanasia is blandly called 'death with dignity'," he said in his address.
Gay rights group have criticised the Pope and Catholic Church officials in the past over such comments, accusing them of interfering in Italy's domestic affairs.
Groups opposed to gay marriage and recognition of unmarried couples are planning a national rally in Rome next month.
Italy's Roman Catholic Church, set up on diocesan and parish levels, has the organisational machinery to mobilise hundreds of thousands of people.
A huge turnout, which is expected, could be a major embarrassment for Prodi's government.
"No man of common sense and goodwill, seeing the ills which afflict us, and which are particularly prevalent in certain countries, will take long to realize that the source of these calamities lies in neglect and official denial of God by whole societies, and often even at the family level."
"Our Holy Father the Pope said only recently that "once God has been abolished, disdain for the things of God turns man, stripped of his spiritual dignity, into the base slave of things material, suppressing and even uprooting all the beauty shown forth in virtue, love, hope, and the interior life."
"No civil society will ever be able to survive by banishing God, for the sacred principles of religion alone can justly balance the rights and duties of citizens, consolidate the foundations of the State, and regulate the actions of men by salutary laws, directing them in an orderly fashion toward virtue. The greatest of Roman orators wrote: You, O Pontiffs....defend the city more surely by the strength of religion than its ramparts defend it," and this becomes infinitely more true and more certain when the religion referred to is Christian faith and doctrine.
"Let all those who hold the reigns of government then, recognize these truths, and let the church be everywhere afforded the freedom which is her due, so that free from all impediment she may enlighten with her doctrine the minds of men, give to youth a sound education and formation in virtue, reaffirm the sacred character of the family, and penetrate all human life with her influence.
"Civil society will have nothing to fear from this salutary course; on the contrary it will reap the greatest benefits, for with social relations being governed with justice and equity, with the conditions of the needy being improved as necessary and amended to meet the requirements of human dignity, with discord finally quieted and spirits pacified in fraternal charity, better times may happily begin for all peoples and nations. Such is our ardent hope, and the object of our fervent prayers."
"Confronting Godlessness "
Pastoral Letter, Dakar,

Marcel Lefebvre
From Politico:
"The decision was...notable for the way the nine justices split on the question -- 5-4, with the Court's five Catholic justices forming the majority."Never before has the court had five Catholic justices, and their joining together in a decision to limit abortion, of all hot-button issues, is likely to spark discussion about the role of religion in forming social policy."
Those who call for the extraconstitutional separation of church and state seek the separation of authentic Catholics from any position where their faith and morality could be influential. The constitution does not contain any mention of the "separation of church and state". The constitution states:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
The left's call for the separation of church and state is never about the state intruding upon religion, rather, it is disguised bigotry. It is absurd to think that one's background and beliefs will not effect one's decisions and actions.
Here is an example of the bigotry we will hear in the coming months, this from the Huffington Post:
What, then, explains this decision? Here is a painfully awkward observation: All five justices in the majority in Gonzales are Catholic. The four justices who are either Protestant or Jewish all voted in accord with settled precedent. It is mortifying to have to point this out. But it is too obvious, and too telling, to ignore. Ultimately, the five justices in the majority all fell back on a common argument to justify their position. There is, they say, a compelling moral reason for the result in Gonzales. Because the intact D & E seems to resemble infanticide it is "immoral" and may be prohibited even without a clear statutory exception to protect the health of the woman.
The language is harsh, but it is greatly lessened by the realization that the Catholics on the court stood out--again from Politico:
"...conservatives should be pleased at the unprecedented number of Catholics on the court."With Catholics, you have this very substantial body of 'natural law' teaching, which gives them a very rich tradition to draw from when they are thinking about these sorts of issues," Masci said."Catholic social teaching is underpinned, he said, by the ideas of people like St. Thomas Aquinas, who taught that there are fundamental principles -- God's law -- that provide a touchstone for navigating new issues such as stem cell research."Protestants have access to the same material, Masci said, "but Catholic thinkers spend more time working within this tradition, which gives them a foundation for building their ideas.""That foundation has made conservative Catholics a natural ally for socially conservative evangelicals on issues such as abortion. And it has helped propel Catholic thinkers to the forefront of a range of questions facing society."A large number of Catholic jurists -- more than just the five on the Supreme Court -- have become prominent doing work in areas like privacy, abortion, family and marriage," said Masci. He cited the example of Princeton professor Robert George, a member of the president's Council on Bioethics."
There is a great deal to rejoice about with this decision. Not only is "partial birth abortion"--state sanctioned infanticide--now outlawed, but this may be a shining moment for Catholicism in America.
Fr. John Hardon often repeated that the Catholic Church was the only hope to fight abortion.
"The future of the human race depends on the Catholic Church’s teaching on abortion.... I mean that the survival of the human race depends finally on the acceptance of the Catholic Church’s two thousand years’ teaching that the killing of unborn children is murder."
From IOL
Malatya - Turkish police have detained five more suspects in the gruesome murder of three people at a publishing house that distributed bibles and Christian literature, officials said on Thursday.
A total of 10 have now been taken into custody over the killings on Wednesday in the eastern city of Malatya that shocked the country and fuelled fears among Turkey's tiny Christian community.
The three victims, one of them a German, were found tied to chairs with their throats slit at the Zirve (Summit) publishing house that had previously received threats for dealing in Christian literature.
Five of the suspects, including a man who jumped out of a window to escape capture, were caught at the crime scene.
Announcing the arrest of the other five, Malatya governor Halil Ibrahim Dasoz gave no details, but said they were all of the same age group - young men aged 19 and 20.
Turkish Newspapers said all the suspects detained at the crime scene were found carrying a letter that read: "We did it for our country. They are trying to take our country away, take our religion away."
Police have yet to make a statement on the motives for the murders, but the press on Thursday were united in the belief that nationalist and religious zeal were the likely root cause.
"Religious brutality in Malatya," read the headline of the left-leaning daily Cumhuriyet, while the liberal Radikal condemned "The massacre of missionaries."
Several newspapers linked the attack to others against Christian minorities in overwhelmingly Muslim Turkey, including the killings of a Roman Catholic priest last year and an ethnic Armenian journalist in January.
"Ultimate treason number two," headlined the mass-circulation Sabah.
The victims of the attack were named as 46-year-old German Tilman Geske and Turkish citizens Necati Aydin and Ugur Yuksel.
Aydin was the pastor of the 30-strong Protestant community of Malatya, Ihsan Ozbek, the chairperson of the Alliance of Protestant Churches in Turkey, told AFP.
Ozbek described Tilman as a "simple member" of the Protestant community in the city and said Aydin and Yuksel worked for the publishing house.
"The community in Malatya never received any threat," said Ozbek, who is also the pastor of the Salvation Protestant Church in Ankara.
"There was only one incident in 2005, a protest against the publishing house", which is owned by the Protestant community, he said.
Media reports said the publisher had been the target of protests by nationalists accusing it of seeking Christian converts.
An aide to the Malatya governor told AFP that Zirve "was engaged in missionary activities."
Proselytising is generally viewed with suspicion in Turkey, whose population is 99 percent Muslim. Small Greek Othodox, Catholic, Armenian and Jewish communities are concentrated mainly in Istanbul.
Turkey, which is seeking to join the European Union, prides itself on religious tolerance, but a recent series of attacks has raised concerns that nationalism and anti-Christian hostility are on the rise.
In February 2006, Italian Catholic priest Andrea Santoro was shot dead as he prayed in his church in the northern city of Trabzon. A teenager was convicted of the murder and jailed for nearly 19 years.
Five days after the murder, a Roman Catholic priest in Izmir, western Turkey, was harassed by a group of young men and, in July, another Catholic priest was stabbed and wounded by a man officials described as "mentally disturbed" in the Black Sea port of Samsun.
In January, journalist Hrant Dink, a prominent member of Turkey's Armenian community, was gunned down in the street in Istanbul. A 17-year-old, detained along with 11 other suspected ultra-nationalists, confessed to the killing.Malatya - Turkish police have detained five more suspects in the gruesome murder of three people at a publishing house that distributed bibles and Christian literature, officials said on Thursday.
"Jenkins operates within a very short time frame. He suggests that by 2050 there will be thirty million Muslims in Europe. Other scholars believe the figure will be much higher. Whatever the more plausible number, 2050 is, in historical perspective, only a few years distant. The life of nations is, in their own self-understanding, very long. The Novus Ordo Seclorum on the Great Seal of the United States may be a self-flattering conceit, as may be France’s belief, stemming from 1789, that it bears the destiny of humanité, but to invest in and sacrifice for the future of a people and its way of life—the most palpable form of which is in having babies—requires a timeline much longer than 2050. People who do not, in continuity with the world they know, hope to have grandchildren who will hope to have grandchildren do not have babies. The sacrifice of the identities of nations and peoples to the deracinated idea of “Europe” as institutionalized in the European Union, combined with the forceful counternarrative of Islam, does not suggest a future in which many will make an intergenerational investment.
"But then, and despite his roseate projections, perhaps Philip Jenkins knows all this. Recall his observation that “both Christianity and Islam face real difficulties in surviving within Europe’s secular cultural ambience in anything like their familiar historic forms.” Europe is a historical phenomenon, and Europe without its familiar historic forms is not Europe. To speak of the death of Europe is not to suggest that the continent called Europe will disappear. It is possible that “Eurosecularity” in sustained tension with an Islamo-Christian cultural ambience will flourish, at least economically, for generations to come. But, with the establishment of Eurabia or the Maghreb, Europe “in anything like its familiar historic forms” will be a memory. That is what is meant by the death of Europe.
"At a recent dinner party with European intellectuals, I put to an influential French archbishop Daniel Pipes’ projection: Either assimilation or expulsion or Islamic takeover. That, he said, puts the possibilities much too starkly. “We hope for the first,” he said, “while we work at reducing immigration and prepare ourselves for soft Islamization.” Soft Islamization. It is a wan expression. Whether soft or hard, the prospect is that, in the not-so-distant future, someone will publish a book titled Allah’s Continent. In fact, several Muslim authors have already published books with very similar titles, anticipating the future of the Europe that was. Needless to say, and historical contingencies being as contingent as they are, I very much hope that they turn out to be wrong. As I very much wish Philip Jenkins’ God’s Continent provided better reasons for believing they are wrong."
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Supreme Court upheld the nationwide ban on a controversial abortion procedure Wednesday, handing abortion opponents the long- awaited victory they expected from a more conservative bench.
The 5-4 ruling said the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act that Congress passed and President Bush signed into law in 2003 does not violate a woman's constitutional right to an abortion.
The opponents of the act "have not demonstrated that the Act would be unconstitutional in a large fraction of relevant cases," Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in the majority opinion.
The decision pitted the court's conservatives against its liberals, with President Bush's two appointees, Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito, siding with the majority.
Justices Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia also were in the majority.
It was the first time the court banned a specific procedure in a case over how—not whether—to perform an abortion.
Abortion rights groups have said the procedure sometimes is the safest for a woman. They also said that such a ruling could threaten most abortions after 12 weeks of pregnancy, although government lawyers and others who favor the ban said there are alternate, more widely used procedures that remain legal.
The outcome is likely to spur efforts at the state level to place more restrictions on abortions.
More than 1 million abortions are performed in the United States each year, according to recent statistics. Nearly 90 percent of those occur in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, and are not affected by Tuesday's ruling.
Six federal courts have said the law that was in focus Wednesday is an impermissible restriction on a woman's constitutional right to an abortion.
The law bans a method of ending a pregnancy, rather than limiting when an abortion can be performed.
The modern secular university is a wasteland of relativism, multiculturalism, and nihilism. Are we supposed to be surprised at how this "world view" manifests itself? Under secularism, why should anger be restrained? Why should we not kill? The fruits of secularism are tragic, and are an embarrassment. It is absurd to think that the secularism found in the West is attractive and inviting to Islam, and will ultimately breed assimilation.
This was confirmed in an official statement by the Iranian government, that upon first glance appears to be replete with hypocrisy and irony:
"Attacking innocent people, irrespective of their race and nationality, is contrary to divine and human values no matter which group or person carries out such an act under any name," the Iranian statement said."
A close look at the above statement reveals that Iran is actually being consistent in its position of killing innocents. Only killing based upon "race and nationality" is condemned. Killing of "infidels" in the name of allah, is not.
Authentic Christians are caught in the middle of two world views that are zealous in their hatred of Christianity. We must stand firm and stand out as being different from the culture at large. Only our deeply lived counter-culturalism will reconvert the West. The secularists stand for nothing, believe in nothing, condemn nothing, and espouse nothing. Dogma, doctrine, and discipline are attractive to those who possess nothing.
"Moving forward, pharmacists with personal objections to a drug must get a co-worker to fill the order. Failing that, they are duty-bound to fill it themselves. Bottom line: A patient must be able to get her prescription filled in the same pharmacy visit."
To refuse to dispense the pill now endangers one's employment and livelihood. To dispense it endangers one's immortal soul. The judicially created false "right" of a women to kill her child now trumps the God given, constitutionally mandated right to religious freedom. Here is yet another example of radical secularism eroding our freedoms. I cannot see how a pro-life pharmacist can continue working in the state of Washington.
And what about when the liberal state of Washington decides to legalize physician assisted suicide? No doubt this ruling also mandates pharmacies to dispense lethal doses of drugs to kill a human being--without the ability to object based upon conscience.
This story comes upon the heels of another article pertaining to an "abortion crisis" in the U.K. as doctors refuse to perform abortions.
"Distaste at performing terminations combined with ethical and religious convictions has led to a big increase in "conscientious objectors" who request exemption from the task, the RCOG says. A key factor is what specialists call "the dinner party test". Gynaecologists who specialise in fertility treatment creating babies for childless couples are almost universally revered - but no one boasts of being an abortionist.
"As a result, after decades of campaigning, anti-abortion organisations may be on the point of achieving their objective by default. Repeated efforts to tighten the law have failed and public opinion remains firmly in support, but the growing number of doctors refusing to do the work means there may soon not be enough prepared to carry out terminations to meet demand.
"Ann Furedi, chief executive of BPAS, the British Pregnancy Advisory Service, which carries out a quarter of all abortions performed in England, said: "There is a real crisis looming. Unless we can address the problem and motivate doctors to train in abortion, we may well face a situation in five years' time in which women's access to abortion is severely restricted. It is our biggest headache."
"Richard Warren, honorary secretary of the RCOG and a consultant obstetrician in Norfolk, said: "In the past, abortion was an accepted part of the workload. People did not like it but they accepted that it was in the best interests of the woman concerned. Now people are given the option of opting out of the bits of the job they don't like doing and if two or three say 'No thanks', it makes it easier for others to follow."
"He added: "There is an ethos that people go into medicine to save lives and look after people. Usually, a decision for termination is taken reluctantly even though it is recognised that it is in the best interests of the woman. It is difficult and upsetting work and it is done with obvious reticence. We are seeing more doctors who are reluctant to be involved in the process and this is happening in the context of growing demand."
Are Doctors next?
"If we do not tell others the truth, it is perhaps because we feel they are not disposed to accept it, but also it is often through cowardice, through self-centeredness, because we have not the courage to face up to their displeasure. Because we fear to offend them we do not dare to love them truly and to the bitter end. For loving others means seeking what is for their good, even in spite of themselves. Loving others means helping them to bring about within themselves the triumph of truth over their paltry day-to-day "reality". Loving means helping every man to learn God's plan for him. Indisputably, charity of this kind forbids us to allow others what we know is not for their own good. The true lover is he who faithfully, patiently, realistically and in silence...strives to help others to bring to fruition what is best within them.
In today's world millions of souls are deprived of the living bread of truth, and this is a situation which we have no right to tolerate. The fact is that we tolerate it all too easily. To compromise with this situation is to fail to love. It is not a question here of fighting, but of saving. Too widely it is thought there is no middle ground between conflict and complicity. There is, and that is love, love which does not resign itself to seeing men outside what it knows to be the true life and which seeks to help them all realize that life, love which goes forth boldly among all men.
But if the highest form of charity is to hand on the truth, yet that truth must be handed on with charity. There is a manner of serving truth , which precisely because it is not sufficiently accomplished in charity, is in the end harmful to truth.
We are all too fully aware that there can be something far less than perfect in the way in which we serve truth. Truth becomes our affair, its triumph our triumph. The moment we begin to think that way it is no longer truth we are serving, but ourselves. And we are pleased with ourselves for possessing the truth while others do not; our attitude towards others becomes proprietary and superior.
The attitude we should adopt is very different. I should say to myself, "I am as poor as the next man, Of myself I have absolutely nothing. The truth is not my truth. It is something that has been given to me, and I should be aware how ill I have received it; so I should simply bear witness to it, conscious of my unworthiness of it. Far from telling others, "Do as I do," I must say, "Imitate Jesus Christ; He is the true life. I am only an imperfect witness who has followed Him. What I testify to has been given to me and is infinitely greater than I, and is the common good of all men." In that way I can serve truth in humility without humiliating truth."
Another deformation in the matter of presenting the truth would be to seek rapid and visible results. "Charitas patiens est," says St Paul, but patience does not mean resignation. Patience is an eminently active virtue. Without trying to rush God's plan, one must enter into its long waiting, its delays. This involves an attitude of respect towards persons, a middle way between an aggressive proselytism and a psuedo-tolerance which would put out beliefs on the same level."
And so we see that charity and truth are intimately bound up one with the other."

The lines of creation have been breached by man and it is a slippery slope that seemingly cannot be stopped. We are truly embarking upon a grotesque, Frankenstein era of biological experiments that do not even seem to phase the Western world. Despite the fact that God prevented the conception of children by homosexuals, it will nevertheless become a "RIGHT" in the future.
From The Independent: The prospect of all-female conception
"Women might soon be able to produce sperm in a development that could allow lesbian couples to have their own biological daughters, according to a pioneering study published today.
Scientists are seeking ethical permission to produce synthetic sperm cells from a woman's bone marrow tissue after showing that it possible to produce rudimentary sperm cells from male bone-marrow tissue.
The researchers said they had already produced early sperm cells from bone-marrow tissue taken from men. They believe the findings show that it may be possible to restore fertility to men who cannot naturally produce their own sperm.
But the results also raise the prospect of being able to take bone-marrow tissue from women and coaxing the stem cells within the female tissue to develop into sperm cells, said Professor Karim Nayernia of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Creating sperm from women would mean they would only be able to produce daughters because the Y chromosome of male sperm would still be needed to produce sons. The latest research brings the prospect of female-only conception a step closer.
"Theoretically is it possible," Professor Nayernia said. "The problem is whether the sperm cells are functional or not. I don't think there is an ethical barrier, so long as it's safe. We are in the process of applying for ethical approval. We are preparing now to apply to use the existing bone marrow stem cell bank here in Newcastle. We need permission from the patient who supplied the bone marrow, the ethics committee and the hospital itself."
If sperm cells can be developed from female bone-marrow tissue they will be matured in the laboratory and tested for their ability to penetrate the outer "shell" of a hamster's egg - a standard fertility test for sperm.
"We want to test the functionality of any male and female sperm that is made by this way," Professor Nayernia said. But he said there was no intention at this stage to produce female sperm that would be used to fertilise a human egg, a move that would require the approval of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority.
The immediate aim is to see if female bone marrow can be lured into developing into the stem cells that can make sperm cells. The ultimate aim is to discover if these secondary stem cells can then be made into other useful tissues of the body, he said.
The latest findings, published in the journal Reproduction: Gamete Biology, show that male bone marrow can be used to make the early "spermatagonial" stem cells that normally mature into fully developed sperm cells.
"Our next goal is to see if we can get the spermatagonial stem cells to progress to mature sperm in the laboratory and this should take around three to five years of experiments," Professor Nayernia said.
Last year, Professor Nayernia led scientists at the University of Gottingen in Germany who became the first to produce viable artificial sperm from mouse embryonic stem cells, which were used to produce seven live offspring.
His latest work on stem cells derived from human bone marrow suggests that it could be possible to develop the techniques to help men who cannot produce their own sperm naturally.
"We're very excited about this discovery, particularly as our earlier work in mice suggests that we could develop this work even further," Professor Nayernia said.
Whether the scientists will ever be able to develop the techniques to help real patients - male or female - will depend on future legislation that the Government is preparing as a replacement to the existing Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act.
A White Paper on genetics suggested that artificial gametes produced from the ordinary "somatic" tissue of the body may be banned from being used to fertilise human eggs by in vitro fertilisation."
The exploitation of the most vulnerable and innocent to carry out killings in the name of religion is no less than diabolical. From Rueters Alertnet:
BAGHDAD, 10 April 2007 (IRIN) The dreams 13-year-old Barak Muhammad (not his real name) had of leading a normal teenage life were dashed when his father sold him to al-Qaeda militants. Being mentally handicapped, he said he was considered a burden by his family and was told he would be better off sacrificing his life for his country.
"I don't have a mother and never went to school. I was dreaming of a day that I would go to school like my other brothers, but I was considered different. My father was always telling me that I was a mistake in his life, a boy that was just bringing expenses and problems," Barak said.
Barak's father sold him to al-Qaeda in Iraq for US $10,000 to support his remaining five children. Now, Barak is in training to fight US and Iraqi troops.
"Today, I help some men who say they are from al-Qaeda group. They fight people who are occupying Iraq and they said that if I do my work well, God will protect me and make me be a healthy boy," Barak said, adding that fighters promised him that he would soon join his mother in heaven.
Carrying a Kalashnikov assault rifle, Barak said he accompanies insurgents during night time raids and when needed acts as a decoy to divert the attention of US or Iraqi forces in the run-up to an attack.
Abu Ahmed, who claims to be a spokesman for al-Qaeda in Iraq and Barak's trainer, said they were giving him a better life.
"We're doing a favour to Barak. We're giving him the chance to be useful and not suffer daily beatings from his father. Here, with us, he gets Islamic lessons and is soon going to be a good fighter and maybe one day even become a suicide bomber in the name of God," Abu Ahmed said.
Suicide bombers and spies
Like Barak, dozens of other mentally handicapped children are being used by insurgents to fight US and Iraqi forces.
On 21 March, two children were used by al-Qaeda militants in a suicide attack on a market in Baghdad's Adhamiyah neighbourhood, according to government officials.
"They were put in the back of a car with another two adults in the front. The military let their car pass though the check point since it had children as passengers. When they reached the market, they [the adults] left the car with the children inside and detonated a bomb in the vehicle, killing the children and another five Iraqis," Khalid Sami, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said.
"Those children were later identified to have had mental problems and for sure they didn't know what they were doing there," Sami added.
Officials at a local NGO, who refused to be named for security reasons, said they had received many reports that mentally handicapped children were being used in insurgent attacks, especially in cities such as Diyala, Ramadi and Fallujah.
"Some children were given by their families but many others were kidnapped by insurgents when they knew that those children had mental problems. Some of them were even taken from the doors of their houses or schools," the NGO's spokesperson said. "We have registered many cases of the disappearance of children with mental problems. According to information we got from Anbar province, those children are working with insurgents."
The spokesperson added that some children, who had become orphans since the US-led invasion in 2003, had also been helping insurgents as spies.
"They are sent to make relationships with locals, to gather information and others are used to distract troops when insurgents are preparing to detonate bombs near them. At least 12 children have died in such operations when bombs exploded and they couldn't leave the area in time," he added.
Nine-year-old Saleh Ahmed (not his real name) said he was forced to help insurgents after they forced their way into his home and threatened to kill his mother and sisters if his father did not hand him over.
"They told me to say that I'm happy working with them but it's not true. I want to go back home and stay with my mother," Saleh told IRIN in privacy. When his trainer, Abu Ahmed, returned to the room, Saleh changed his tune and said he was happy to fight US forces and would die to save his country.
Gene Robinson, the openly homosexual Episcopal bishop, recently testified before the New Hampshire Senate promoting homosexual civil unions. Robinson had the audacity to declare that homosexual civil unions do not impact families or religion. From Newsday
"What we seek in the civil realm is the equal treatment by the state government in supporting this development of our relationship with the legal, financial and societal underpinnings which are afforded married couples at the very moment they say 'I do,"' he said.
"Robinson suggested families would flourish under civil unions.
"This legislation simply has nothing do to with religious bodies and their affirmation or rejection of such unions in the civil realm," he said."
During his testimony he also stated:
"Would that we could get all heterosexual couples to take these commitments and responsibilities so seriously," he said.
So often the secular left, and those who have lost their faith, point to the failure of heterosexual marriage as an argument for the promotion of homosexual marriage, as if they are morally equivalent. The world has come to believe that the two are morally equivalent precisely because of the rampant use of artificial birth control in marriage.
From the standpoint of the secular left, a heterosexual marriage is indiscernible from a homosexual marriage, where the husband and wife choose not to procreate, and instead use artificial birth control. This moral equivocation is the natural and logical result of divorcing procreation from marriage. Although it is extremely politically incorrect to assert-- the purpose of marriage is to have children and to increase and multiply the human race. Natural law dictates that only a man and woman can procreate. When we choose not to do so, we undermine and participate in the destruction of marriage.
"Marriage itself among all races is for the one
purpose of procreating children, whatever will be
their station and character afterward; marriage was
instituted for this purpose, so that children might
be born properly and decently."
St Augustine
How long must we endure the lies of feminism? The demise of Western culture is largely due to our embrace of feminism and its inherent requirement that children be abandoned by their mothers. Despite the destruction, one nation after another continues to expand "childcare" until it has become another entitlement program. As one Bishop has termed it, women are no longer mothers they have become "birthing machines" for the state. Women give birth and hand their children over to the government to "nurture" and educate. Doesn't this sound a bit like the repackaging of communism?
FROM THE EPOCH TIMES:
Catholics Attack German Plans to Boost Child Care
BERLIN—Several senior German Catholics attacked government plans to raise the capacity of nurseries on Sunday, with one bishop saying the policy reminded him of communist East Germany and that it served "antiquated feminism".
The plans to boost the birth rate and raise child care to levels seen in other European states have stirred controversy in Germany, where conservative attitudes towards women's role in the family persist, especially in the Catholic South.
The strongest attack came from Augsburg Bishop Walter Mixa, who targeted Family Minister Ursula von der Leyen's plans to triple the number of childcare places by 2013.
"The policy, which is modelled on the former East Germany, is socially misguided and driven to a high degree by ideology," Mixa told the Passauer Neue Nachrichten.
In western Germany, where mothers are still encouraged to stay at home, there is provision for only one in 12 toddlers. In the east, where the socialist state set up a comprehensive childcare system, two in five children are covered.
Von der Leyen, mother of seven, won agreement from Germany's 16 federal states and local communities last week on an increase in care provision for children under three but they failed to agree on who will pay for it.
Mixa, who has in the past criticised German family policies for turning women into "birthing machines", also said the plans "served the antiquated feminist demands from the 1970s".
He won support from other Catholics.
Notker Wolf, head of Germany's Benedictine Order, told Welt am Sonntag he had problems with von der Leyen's plans.
"This is more than an offer, this is about changing society. Obviously a woman only counts if she works like a man and does not care for her child like a mother," Wolf said.
Yet another reason why parents are at war with our culture to preserve the innocence of our youth. Here is an admission from a British teachers union that our youth is being corrupted by materialism and commercialization. When the left-leaning leaders of public education in the West admit a cultural problem you can be sure that it is much worse than they perceive and report.
A culture that embraces sin will not tolerate innocence. Like an alcoholic that seeks the company of other drinkers, the materialistic and oversexed are all too anxious to share their love of sin with children. Further, the indiscriminate participation of our children in the lowest forms of our culture inevitably results in the perversion of childhood.
As a mother of five children seven and under, I can attest to the difficulty of finding modest clothes for little girls. Also, in speaking with acquantances who opted for public schools for their children, they are all in agreement, that children are growing up, or should I say are being corrupted, at very early ages. The teenage attitudes and the accompanying rebellion have backed up into adolescent years.
The following are excerpts from an article in the Daily Express:
"Big business is forcing children to grow up too quickly, teachers claim.
They say youngsters are bombarded with advertising for junk food and products which are “inappropriate”.
"The National Union of Teachers (NUT), which wants tighter controls on advertising that targets children, made the assessment at the start of its annual conference in Harrogate.
"It has launched a report highlighting what it believes is the commercialisation of childhood. Teachers at the conference complained that adverts encourage children to use “pester power” on their parents.
"Steve Sinnott, NUT general secretary, said some products being marketed to children were not suitable.
"Mr Sinnott cited examples of Tesco selling a pole-dancing kit and Asda selling black and pink lace lingerie and a push-up bra for nine-year-olds which he said “shortens” their childhood.
“Society is changing,” he said. “Some of it is for the better, some of it is not. These are examples of things which are not for the better.”
"The NUT, Britain’s biggest teachers union, is calling for a ban on all forms of advertising in schools and all marketing which promotes unhealthy food and drink to children. Its new charter, Growing Up In A Material World, was published at the conference.
"The union warned that many children felt pressurised into developing the perfect body, with teenage boys resorting to taking steroids and girls developing eating disorders and wearing sexualised clothing and make-up.
"The charter reads: “A disturbing aspect of children’s awareness of their body image is the trend for pre-teenage girls in particular to wear inappropriate and sexually provocative clothes and make-up."
Here is more from the same British public school system that generated the above report. From the Brussels Journal:
"One of the worst examples of this destructive intervention in family life is the sex education system that has been imposed on [British] schools. […] Not very long ago the Daily Telegraph ran a whole-page story headlined, Outrage over explicit sex lessons. Education correspondent John Clare described parents’ anger at 12-year-old children being given explicit sex lessons...
"Now another government-funded agency...has launched a “Schools Sex Manual”, subtitled “Nice Girls have Sex”. There is also a full colour booklet...for 13-year-olds called “The Good Grope Guide”. Is it any wonder that underage sex, childhood pregnancy and child abortion continue to increase under this British government?
"Brock Chisholm, the Canadian doctor who became Director-General of the World Health Organisation, decreed that children should be freed from national, religious and other cultural prejudices inflicted on them by their parents. He advocated that classroom sex education should be introduced, “eliminating the ways of the elders by force if necessary.”
"It is high time parents hit back and insisted on knowing what is being taught their children in secret and behind their backs. And let’s give children back their innocence."
I transcribed an old tape I had from a talk given by the late Father John Hardon in 1999 from his Catholic nursing home in Detroit. Fr Hardon entitled his talk “Sexual Suicide”. He had the grace of detachment from this world that enabled him to truly see the realities of our times. He was a prophet.
“We begin then by asking this question --what is sexual suicide?...[It is] chaos introduced into one civilized nation after another.
Well then how do you define sexual suicide. Lets describe it as understood by those that recognize its terrifying and I mean terrifying implications. First sexual suicide is liberation of the human sexual powers. [This] has created a society that is positively hostile -- and I mean--hostile to the family and to the institution of marriage.
A society [infected by] sexual suicide fails to recognize the natural order of the male and female gender. God created two genders to cooperate with one another in the procreation of the human race... Sexual suicide is the final destination of the feminist movement.
Oh how few Americans realize what feminism really means. What feminism really means is...the breakdown of the family in such a way that what we call a family is meant for extinction.
Sexual suicide is the pollution of a culture by false ideas and misused technology. The result has been an erosion of true love and family life that reduces sex to a form of sexual massage.
Similarly sexual suicide is a widespread poison of radical feminism. I've been a priest now for 52 years. I have lived in an America that had not yet been poisoned by what we now call feminism. Now most of the countries of the Western world have been poisoned by feminism.
This began with the false idea that the family is a form of male domination. [This] idea was started by Karl Marx --back in the 19th century. I began reading Karl Marx when I was 14 years old. I read just about everything that not only Karl Marx published-- but all [that] the leading Marxists in the world have printed and published. According to the Marxists, feminism is the result of male domination.
Sexual suicide is masked under the name of women's liberation. It pretends to restore to women the rights they really have over men. As might be expected, the principle flaw of most of the literature of women's liberation is its gross underestimation of the real power of women....Hear it--women's liberation was invented by Karl Marx.
The principle of women's liberation was widely promoted by Lenin--who introduced communism in the Western world. And today, most of the once civilized world is dominated by Marxism --including --just for the record--our own beloved United States. The deepest conflict in the world today is not between the rich and the poor or the capitalists and labor, it is for Karl Marx the conflict between men and women. The great dream of Marx was to promote this conflict between the two genders and thus provide for the progress of human society.
Among the nations that have been deeply infected by this demonic lie-- the United States stands as a world leader. Believe me ...I am sharing with you a lifetime of study, teaching, preaching, and writing. The United States is deeply, profoundly Marxist.
Let’s examine what we mean by "what's going on in our society". Most Americans have no idea what is going on.
Mutual love between a monogamous male and female ha[s] been replaced with liberated sex...As a consequence, love in its form of blissful monogomy is becoming...increasingly elusive.
Sex, as a way to obtain physical pleasure is increasingly available. And this sexual pleasure has a form of “right” which every man and women nowadays has available. And...now [they] speak of human rights as having no claim, no right, to deprive anyone of these pleasures. And to speak of a lifelong married partner is to still be living in a “dream world”. The physical and psychological consequences caused by this sexual freedom is seen as a health issue where treatment is expected from the healthcare and scientific community.
As a...solution we seek a break between sexual intercourse and reproduction. And our nation is dominated by this...demonic error. Our nation spends, and I am not exagerating, billions a year to break the relationship between sexual intercourse and reproduction.
The feminists, homosexuals, and pornographers have a powerful group in our nation. Ah, not only powerful [but] they are organized...organized by our government. And the only organized effort in any country, including our own, to stem this monopoly of [immorality]...is the Roman Catholic Church. But...in America the Catholic church is being opposed so strongly, so effectively that the churches in America are closing by the hundreds every year.
Once you practice sexual pleasure for its own purpose what happens? You break down, you tear apart, not only procreation --you break down the very concept of the family.
You already see the change in the conduct of men and women that is causing what we call suicidal disintegration. When sex is no longer associated with the affirmation of a [marital] relationship --the natural male sexual instinct is uncontrolled and the male will gravitate toward a series of sexual conquests of the next available female. The incentive to committment in marriage is lost. [This has] been lost by millions in what we call one developed nation after another. The man...will emerge as sexually impulsive and the desire for pleasure through pornography, through drugs, and if we still have it in our vocabulary-- crime.
Women in the modern world are faced with a cruel dilemma. They can either respond to the increasing abdication from civilized social and sexual pattterns by playing both the heroes of the job commitment and family responsibility...Do you know that in the United States most of the laboring force is women. And who controls the family and the marriage. It is feminist women. On these grounds family life disappears. Or as so many women have done, they subject themselves to male sexual impulse, abandon their procreative impulse, and enjoy themselves with whoever is around. Women will have fewer and fewer children and one result is a fatherless child rearing system where you see an increasing crime rate and the abuse of women and children [that] no amount of social spending can resolve.
[W]e must conclude that sex between spouses, love for children, and the family, are indisputably...related. There is no true love where marriage is not intended to procreate children. And the [notion of] family will remain in dictionaries --with the concept of a family as a stable society with a father, mother, and children is widely--I don’t just to say disappearing ---it has widely disappeared.
Oh how we desperately need the recovery-- the rediscovery of the family in our society. We need the conversion of not just the word “love” but the conversion of two people-- a husband and wife-- begetting children not only for time but for eternity. Except for true honest to God love --heaven would be empty--except for God and the angels.
There [is] inequality between the genders but [it is] meant by God to be complimentary. And the ultimate power lies with the women who teaches the man to become a full member of a family as a social entity.
How perverted American society has become. [W]oman’s maternal sexuality is diminished, reducing her to the lowest form of male eroticism leaving her a man without the male physiology--a veritable female eunich. I am quoting from a standard work on the role of women in society. I wrote this manuscript --I don’t believe I have ever used it once in public.
The high divorce rate, the large number of fatherless childen, the number of broken homes, women required to compete in the job market are maintaining family responsibilites, not understanding these contradictions that cause us as a society to seek solutions that will put us further down the slippery slope of sexual suicide. What I am talking about is the survival of our nation as an even remotely Christian country.
My next section is how to stop sexual suicide. There is only one remedy--it is the reversal of its cause. At root the cause of sexual suicide is the rejection of the basic moral principles taught by Jesus Christ and proclaimed by Christianity for...2000 years.
All of us-- all of us--all of us have been in greater or lesser measure infected by this virus. Sexual pleasure is not an end in itself. The divinely ordained purpose is to foster the procreation of children and to sustain the mutual selfless love of husband and wife. Once you separate sexual pleasure from this two-fold purpose you are opening the door to sexual suicide.
We get some idea of how deeply infected-- even otherwise professed Catholics have become with this sexual indulgence. [After] Pope Paul IV published Humane Vitae in 1968, one conference of Bishops after another stood in judgment of the Pope. Fully one-half of the Church’s whole episcopate decided and said so in print, that the Pope’s teaching was out of date.
I seldom say this but now I must. Pray, Pray, Pray for Bishops. The number of unfaithful bishops--unfaithful to the Vicar of Christ is past counting. The ground for the rejection of the Church’s teaching were the familiar ones--appealing to each persons own subjective conscience. The teachings of the Vicar of Christ are widely ignored.
[It is a] menacing error for those to exalt a human freedom which is separated from dependence on God. In other words, the modern world is frankly, openly atheistic. Each person’s conscience is given the status of a supreme tribunal of moral judgment. What you think should be done-- you do it-- and no law may contradict you. This is called the subjective conscience.
Here the subjective conscience becomes ruler in moral matters apart from the mind and the will of God. What happened to the conscience? The...conscience has become the final judge for each person of what is right or wrong, independent of the laws of God. Does this mean we do not have any true freedom? Ironically many who exalt human freedom at the expense of obedience to Gods laws, are the very ones who deny human freedom altogether."
"The Next Magazine, a weekly publication from Hong
Kong, reported that infant corpses and fetuses have
become the newest supplements for health and beauty
in China. Not only is the placenta considered a
beauty remedy, but also aborted fetuses are much
sought after delicacies. In Guangdong, gourmet body
parts are in high demand and can even be purchased
through hospitals. The magazine's investigations into
this form of cannibalism took them to Liaoning
province.
"According to The Next Magazine, during a banquet
hosted by a Taiwanese businessman, a servant Ms Liu
from Liaoning province on the mainland inadvertently
revealed the habit of eating infants/fetuses in
Liaoning province and her intention to return for the
supplement due to health concerns. The Taiwanese
women present were horrified.
"Ms Liu also disclosed that even though people can
afford the human parts there are still waiting lists
and those with the right connections get the "highest
quality" human parts, which translates to the more
mature fetuses. A male fetus is considered the
"prime" human part.
"At the The Next Magazine's request, Ms Liu
personally escorted the reporter to a location where
a fetus was being prepared. The reporter observed a
woman chopping up a male fetus and making soup from
the placenta. During the process, the woman even
tried to comfort everyone by saying, "Don't be
afraid, this is just the flesh of a higher animal."
"The boy's remains were cremated in the mountains in
accordance with the customs of the region.
"In fact, in China, reports about meals made from
infant flesh have surfaced from time to time. A video
is on the Internet for people to view. In the
introduction, the Chinese claim that eating a human
fetus is an art form.
"On March 22, 2003, police in Bingyan, Guangxi
Province seized 28 female babies smuggled in a truck
from Yulin, Guangxi Province going to Houzhou in
Anhui Province. The oldest baby was only three months
old. The babies were packed three or four to a bag
and many of them were near death—none were claimed by
their parents.
"On the morning of October 9, 2004, a person rifling
through the garbage on the outskirts of Jiuquan city
in the Suzhou region, found dismembered babies in a
dumpster. There were two heads, two torsos, four
arms, and six legs. According to the investigation,
these corpses were no more than a week old and they
had been dismembered after cooking.
"Although China has laws that prohibit the eating of
human fetus, the regime's forced abortions to ensure
the one child policy is strictly adhered to thereby
creating many opportunities for these sorts of
atrocities to occur.
"What would make people do such a thing without any
fear of condemnation? Since Mao's Cultural
Revolution, a complete lack of morality and respect
for human life has become the norm in China. Over
time, domination by the Chinese Communist regime has
led to inhuman behavior and human rights violations
resulting in abnormal practices such as cannibalism."

Furthermore, this battle must first begin inside of our individual souls. There is no room for wishy-washy, lukewarm Catholicism, because as Fr. John Hardon stated: "ordinary Catholics will not survive". Especially during this Holy week we must seek to obtain the holiness and courage that can only come from the transforming power of Christ's literal and real Body and Blood. A people that have no life in them because they lack the Body and Blood of Jesus will eventually succumb to the illusions of this world. Crackers and juice and a mere "remembrance meal" cannot sustain the Christian faith in a nation, a denomination and most importantly in a soul.
If we seek holiness instead of worldliness, if we adhere to the wisdom of the Church instead of secular wisdom, and if we obey God's laws despite the cries of foolishness from the world, we may eventually stop hearing about churches becoming mosques. From the N.Y. Times
CLITHEROE, England — On a chilly night this winter, this pristine town in some of Britain’s most untouched countryside voted to allow a former Christian church to become a mosque.
The narrow vote by the municipal authorities marked the end of a bitter struggle by the tiny Muslim population to establish a place of worship, one that will put a mosque in an imposing stone Methodist church that had been used as a factory since its congregation dwindled away 40 years ago.
The battle underscored Britain’s unease with its Muslim minority, and particularly the infiltration of terrorist cells among the faithful, whose devotion has challenged an increasingly secular Britain’s sense of itself.
Britain may continue to regard itself as a Christian nation. But practicing Muslims are likely to outnumber church-attending Christians in several decades, according to a recent survey by Christian Research, a group that specializes in documenting the status of Christianity in Britain.
More conspicuous than ever in both the halls of power and in working-class neighborhoods, Britain’s 1.6 million Muslims, about 2.7 percent of the population, are at once alienated and increasingly assertive.
In Clitheroe, the tussle involved a passionate young professional of Pakistani descent coming up against the raw nerves of tradition-bound local residents.
“We’ve been trying to get a place of worship for 30 years,” said Sheraz Arshad, 31, the Muslim leader here, his voice rattling around the empty old Mount Zion Methodist Church that will house his mosque. “It’s fitting it is a church: it is visually symbolic, the coming together of religions.”
With a population of 14,500, a Norman castle and an Anglican church established in 1122, Clitheroe is tucked away in Lancashire County in the north. People here liked to think they represented a last barrier to the mosques that had become features in surrounding industrial towns. But Clitheroe had not bargained on the determination of Mr. Arshad, a project manager at British Aerospace. He is the British-born son of Mohamed Arshad, who came to Clitheroe from Rawalpindi in 1965 to work at the cement works on the town’s outskirts.
When his father died in 2000, leaving his efforts to establish a mosque for the approximately 300 Muslims unfulfilled, Mr. Arshad took up the challenge.
“I thought, why should I be treated any less well?” Mr. Arshad said. “One quarter of my salary goes in tax, too. I was driven to do the mosque.”
In all, Mr. Arshad and his father made eight applications for a mosque, and even proposed buying a modest terrace house on the edge of town to be used for worship. Mr. Arshad said he tried to buy land from the council but was rebuffed.
Often there was booing at council meetings, and, he said, cries of “Go home, Paki!”
The authorities’ official reasoning for the rejections was generally that a mosque would attract outsiders — a veiled reference to Muslims — to Clitheroe.
Letters to the local newspaper, The Clitheroe Advertiser and Times, warned that what had happened in Blackburn and Preston, two bigger nearby industrial towns with substantial Muslim populations, would happen to Clitheroe.
Mr. Arshad decided to get organized and demonstrate that he was a moderate Muslim who could take part in all the town’s affairs.
He formed an interfaith scout group — Beaver Scouts — that honored many religious occasions, including the Taoist and Jewish new years. He established the Medina Islamic Education Center as an interfaith group for adults, and persuaded the local council to allow the group to lead a key committee. He organized a series of lectures on global conflict that attracted important academics.
On Dec. 21, the night of the vote on the mosque, the council chambers overflowed with 150 people. The police were poised outside. The vote was 7 to 5 for the mosque; there was no violence.
“I went in resigned to the fact we would lose,” Mr. Arshad said. “In the end, it was very humbling.”
The church’s demarcation as a place of worship in the town’s planning records helped carry the day, said Geoffrey Jackson, chief executive of Trinity Partnership, a social welfare agency, and a Methodist who backed Mr. Arshad.
So did Mr. Arshad’s demeanor. “He’s a top lad, with a Lancashire accent, born and bred here, and educated at Clitheroe Grammar,” Mr. Jackson said.
But the fight is hardly over. Beneath the official vote lies a river of resentment among those who fear that the broader patterns in Britain will emerge here. In one sign of the tensions, some of the church’s windows have been smashed.
“There was so much opposition,” said Robert Kay, a hired driver. “The people who were for the mosque were those who were not going to end up with it on their doorstep.”
The Mount Zion Methodist Church became a factory for making scarves for export to the Middle East in the 1960s, when Christian church-going in Britain had already begun to decline.
Today, Britain has fewer than 500,000 practicing Methodists, and of its Christians, only about 6 percent are regulars at church, according to Peter Brierley, executive director of Christian Research. Though numbers for comparison are not known precisely, most agree that Britain’s Muslims are far more regular mosque attendants.
The symbolic encroachment of Islam at the pinnacles of British power is already clear. At Oxford University, town residents recently but unsuccessfully fought the building of a Center for Islamic Studies, and in the House of Lords the number of Muslim members has gone from none to seven during the decade of the Labor government.
In working-class neighborhoods, the differences are stark between white Britons and immigrant Muslim Asians, who began arriving in significant numbers from former British colonies in Pakistan and Bangladesh in the 1970s. The whites are less likely to marry, and they bear more children out of wedlock, trends many Muslims, who put stock in intact families, find disturbing.
The high rate of alcohol consumption among whites sets the groups apart, too. In Blackburn and Preston, increasing numbers of neighborhoods have become exclusively Muslim, and the growing influence of the conservative Wahhabi school of Islam is more and more apparent among women who wear black robes and cover all but their eyes.
In Blackburn, the constituency of Jack Straw, the leader of the House of Commons, there are 30,000 Muslims among a population of 80,000. But in a telltale sign for the future, the number of children 10 years and younger is evenly divided between Christian and Muslim.
It is those demographics, and the visibility of Blackburn’s 40 mosques alongside the ancient Christian church spires, that frightened the mosque opponents in Clitheroe.
As Mr. Arshad makes plans to renovate the church, Clitheroe’s Christians are taking stock.
At St. Mary Magdalene Church, where the first stone was laid in the 12th century, the congregation has dropped to about 90 people on Sunday, and the average age of congregants is 75, said the Anglican vicar, Philip Dearden. Christenings are now rare, and he has only seven weddings booked for the year.
“Lancashire is the last place to see secularization in Britain,” Mr. Dearden, 64, said. “We’re seeing it now quite drastically. People don’t have a conscience about religion; they don’t come anymore.”
In the nearby town of Kendal, an Anglican vicar, Alan Billings, has written a book, “Secular Lives, Sacred Hearts: The Role of the Church in a Time of No Religion.”
He says the growing opposition to new mosques among the white population reflects an anxiety in Britain that has become more exposed since the London suicide bombings in July 2005.
“Often it’s expressed as low objections, more cars, more people,” said Mr. Billings, who is also a frequent contributor to the BBC’s religious programs. “But it is really a deeper anxiety about what is happening in society. It is the fear of what will happen to the culture and feel of Britain.”
At a Saturday gathering of about 50 believers, almost all of them white-haired, Mr. Billings warned that the church was under pressure. Islam could now be seen as an alternative to Christianity, he said.
On a recent Sunday, only one child turned up to Sunday school classes. The story books, paper and pencils lay unused as an elderly teacher tutored the 6-year-old boy in an otherwise empty room.
In contrast, Shamim Ahmed Miah, 26, a British-born mufti of Pakistani origin in Accrington, a town next to Clitheroe, teaches 30 Arabic and Koranic students, ages 5 to 15, in three sessions daily.
Mr. Miah coaxed 10 primary school students, seated at desks in a brightly lighted community center, to recite the Arabic alphabet. He handed out sheets of paper to each student for them to draw some letters. “Be gentle, this is an art,” Mr. Miah said.
Mr. Arshad is considering inviting Mr. Miah to be the imam in Clitheroe. “He’s progressive,” he said.
As for the new mosque, there will be no obvious changes to the church’s exterior, though the cross at the top will come down.
Women will be welcome to pray in the main prayer hall, “not in a cubby hole in the corner,” Mr. Arshad said.
“We don’t want a dome,” he said. “That looks pretty in Egypt and Turkey, but in a market town in England it looks like a big onion. There will be no external call to prayer. What matters is what goes on inside.”
It was very refreshing to recently see Poland take a counter-cultural stand against the radical homosexual agenda and protect its school children from pro-homosexual indoctrination and propaganda. The EU however is culling its many laws on discrimination in order to find a basis to punish Poland's unpopular position. Poland again stands out as the lone counterbalance to old Europe's continued descent into relativism and tolerance of everything except Christianity.
Rome, Mar 29, 2007 / 11:41 am (CNA).- The Committee on Civil Liberties of the European Parliament has ordered an investigation into a future law against homosexual propaganda in Poland, in order to determine if the norm will violate EU laws.
According to international news agencies, the EU committee has requested that its internal services determine if the measure would violate an EU directive from 2002 barring discrimination in the workplace. The review has been requested by Dutch EU representatives Kathalijne Buitenweg and Sophia In't Veld.
Several days ago, the Poland’s Minister of Education together with the Polish League of Families proposed a law protecting children in the country’s schools from aggressive and obscene homosexual propaganda that presents the gay lifestyle as “normal and acceptable.”
With this law’s passage administrators who allow homosexual activists to enter their schools and thus protect the rights of parents “to educate their children according to the values system that they choose.”
“The homosexual agenda is a threat to that freedom,” explained the spokesman of the League, Krzysztof Bosak, a well-known pro-family activist in Poland. “In Poland homosexual activists have tried to distribute obscene pamphlets in schools. This must stop, for the good of our children, so that their security and freedom are free of this harassment,” he added.
He also specified that “nobody is attacking persons with homosexual tendencies. What we are opposed to the dangerous political and social movement that uses the problems of gays to promote an agenda that is dangerous for the foundations of our civilization.”
If the review concludes that the Polish law violates EU norms, the EU Parliament could ask the Committee and the EU Council to act against Poland.
