Are certain

than others? Is the Novus Ordo inferior to the
Tridentine in terms of obtaining grace? This may be a
foolish question to many --but so many are in the dark
and consider the two rites to be of equal value. They
are not. The following article entitled the

Many believe that they derive more spiritual gain from the old rite of Mass than from the new. However, to give a more precise expression to the intuitive sense of which is more efficacious, the new or the old rite, it is necessary to make several distinctions. Since the purpose of this article is very specific, i.e. to ascertain which ritual is more meritorious or efficacious, certain issues regarding the value or efficacy of the Mass will be avoided.1
Yet, to answer the question of whether the old rite of Mass is more efficacious than the new is of paramount importance. It is the point of departure between priests of the respective rites, since each holds that he is saying the Mass that is best for the faithful.2 Nevertheless, the question is a key one since, in the end, whichever ritual is more meritorious ought to be the one that the Roman authorities encourage. Since one of the primary obligations of those in authority in the Church is the glory of God through the salvation of souls, they have the obligation to encourage and, in some cases, require the ritual of the Mass which is most efficacious.

HOMESCHOOLING IS NOT THE IDEAL CATHOLIC EDUCATION

From InsideCatholic: "Given the increasing popularity of homeschooling among faithful Catholics, it is vital that those who practice it -- or are thinking about trying it for their children -- have a fully Catholic understanding of the family and the nature and meaning of education. Without it, their good intentions can go astray, following the exaggerated individualism of the culture instead of the mind of the Church.
Some enthusiasts claim that homeschooling is the Catholic approach to a child's education, but neither history nor the teaching of the Church supports this exclusivity. Though homeschooling is an important and virtuous pursuit, some families are drawn to it through a mistaken ideology -- a shadow image of Catholic culture, Catholic education, and the family itself.
Catholic and Western tradition have always held that education is communal. Since man is a political or social animal -- as Aristotle, Cicero, and St. Thomas Aquinas tell us -- we must never neglect the communal dimension of education. Nothing short of complete family engagement -- father, mother, and child -- in the learning process will secure a proper education. Families may come to grave peril if fathers remain disengaged from their children's education, or if other families are not sought out and some degree of inter-family education is attempted.
Of course, by this I do not mean something so simple as the "socialization" of students, which critics of homeschooling often throw at us -- the old argument that if John and Mary do not have an opportunity to eat bologna sandwiches on the playground with 300 students and talk about Hannah Montana, they will grow up to be social deviants. The "value of socialization" is usually a code for the regimented ethic of pop culture, which has no virtue and is of no importance.
I mean something much more radical and (perhaps initially) more difficult for homeschoolers to accept: that education is for the perfection of the child, and the child is perfected for a life in society.
Stated more controversially: The common approach to homeschooling today is inherently dangerous, because it may go against what our entire Western tradition and the Catholic Church herself teach about the education of the young -- that education should not be done in the home, at least not for long, except during a time and place of crisis.
For many, perhaps the majority of Catholics, they are now in a time and place of crisis. Still, it is important to establish the norms of education, from which we can examine its various forms.

POSSESSED TRANSEXUAL ATTACKS PRIEST DURING MASS
Milan, Italy, Jul 29, 2009 / 04:12 pm (CNA).- Police in Milan detained a Brazilian transsexual on Sunday after he stripped naked in front of the altar during Mass and began to attack the priest who was presiding over the Mass.
The incident occurred at the Church of St. Babila at the 8:30am Mass on Sunday.
According to ANSA news agency, the subject entered the church and approached the altar, where he stripped naked. “Afterwards he took a pole used by the sacristan to close doors and approached the celebrating priest. Several people in congregation tried to stop him, and the man went to the baptismal chapel and began striking a commemorative plaque full of money, which he tried to steal.
Police arrested the Brazilian man and charged him with theft, property damage, public disruption and resisting arrest.

Lauren Grimshaw-Brown was told to take off a necklace with a cross on it because of health and safety fears.
But the eight-year-old's furious mother has accused the school of double standards because they allow children following other faiths to wear jewellery on religious grounds.
The mother-of-two says Lauren and brother Callan, five, have always worn crosses at St Peter's CE School in Chorley, Lancashire.
'We're a Christian family and my children wear the necklaces underneath their tops,' she said.
'On Thursday Lauren was told by a teacher to take it off because apparently they're not allowed to wear jewellery.
'I could understand it if it was a fashion accessory or a High School Musical necklace, but it's part of our faith.'
Mrs Grimshaw-Brown complained directly to the headteacher, Helen Wright, who referred the matter to the school's chairman of governors, Father Atherton. He upheld the ban.
Mrs Grimshaw-Brown added: 'I received a letter in my child's reading folder. It said that if she had been a Sikh child she would be allowed to wear bangles because it's part of their religion.
'I've got absolutely no problem with any other religion wearing bangles or another item of jewellery, but why can't my daughter wear a necklace with a cross? It's a church-led school."

"Doing so, they set the stage for anybody who thinks that this is murder to put this in their own hands to commit murder. ... They set the framework because they demonize those of us in the pro-choice movement."

Pro-abortionists ignore the fact that the value of human life in America has been decimated due to the acceptance of abortion itself. Our culture has become a culture of death which formally began through the acceptance and legalization of contraception and abortion. When a society legally permits the killing of innocent life its entire foundation is shaken and the rule of law is undermined. That is what killed Tiller and that is what will ultimately destroy our nation.
So eventually they will likely outlaw truthful speech about abortion. Any such talk will be seen as hate-speech and a violation of a woman's "health care rights". Never mind the explicit constitutional rights to life and liberty--the judicially created right to slaughter innocent children for the sake of convenience trumps all.
Personally, I think Randall Terry, founder of the pro-life group Operation Rescue stated it best:
“George Tiller was a mass-murderer. We grieve for him that he did not have time to properly prepare his soul to face God,”

This is how much of Protestantism grows...people leave the Catholic faith due to moral (sexual) issues. One need only look at their own extended family to see ex-Catholics who are "born again" and somehow become loosed from the hard sayings of Jesus. "A nurse has been sacked after suggesting during a role play session on a training course that a 'patient' could go to church to relieve stress.
Anand Rao, 71, a committed Christian, was taking part in an exercise to see if he would advise a wife with a serious heart condition about how to reduce stress.
Mr Rao, who has 40 years' nursing experience, said: 'The "patient" told me that her doctor had informed her that she would not live long and this had created stress.
'I called on my spiritual point of view and told her it would be wise to go to church to ease her stress and if God wished she might live a little longer.'
It is understood the 'patient' did not feel his advice was sympathetic or suitable.
The course organiser, Leicestershire and Rutland Organisation for the Relief of Suffering, then sent a report to Mr Rao's employer, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, where he had worked as a bank staff nurse for four years.
He was later dismissed for breaching the Nursing and Midwifery Council's code of conduct on respecting a patient's dignity.
Mr Rao, of Leicester, a married father-of-one who moved to the UK from India 40 years ago, said he was treated in a 'heavy-handed and disproportionate' way.

"The attorney general is of the opinion that there are no grounds" for a further appeal, the Dutch Supreme Court said in a statement.
Lawyers for Wilders had sought to overturn a ruling by the Amsterdam Court of Appeals in January that he should be prosecuted for a series of public anti- Muslim statements, particularly for comparing Islam to Nazism.
"It is a political process," Wilders responded in a statement on the Web site of his Freedom Party, or PVV, which has nine out of 150 seats in parliament.
"I am being prosecuted for saying about Islam what millions of Dutch think. Freedom of expression is at risk of being offered at the altar of Islam."

The Secret Service's report contains additional warnings:
*Increasing numbers of Islamic fundamentalists - mostly second generation immigrants and radical converts - are travelling from Germany to Pakistan to visit terror camps run by al-Qaeda and other similar groups.
*German interests at home and abroad are in danger. The report reveals that Germany is an 'immediate target' for Islamist terror groups.
*The internet is the most important communication and propaganda instrument – and terror groups are getting more professional at using it.
The report also gave several other warnings:
*There was a marked rise in the number of radical right-wing crimes - up 15.8 per cent to 19,894, of which more than 1,000 were violent. Particularly dangerous are the ‘autonomous Nationalists’ who gather at demonstrations as the so-called ‘Black block’ and cause violent clashes with left-wing demonstrators.
*The number of crimes by left-wing supporters also rose in 2008 to 3,124, up from 2,765 in the previous year. Some 701 of those crimes were violent. SOURCE
The secular relativists will predictably capitulate to the demands for a parallel society which grants Muslims their own rule of law because they are unable and unwilling to discern between good and evil, and refuse to condemn that which will destroy them.
